Bingo. Goodwin is not a football player he's a track guy playing football. His inability to adjust to throws not perfectly on target was maddening. I believe part of his injury pattern is his lack of football sense in how to protect yourself when getting hit or in other potentially dangerous situations. Guys playing football since they were little kids have learned subconsciously how to avoid the big shot or landing the wrong way. Goodwin has not. It's not just Tyrod who is hurt by a receiver who can't adjust...it's not helpful for any QB.

A guy who works hard and produces (when healthy) but is often injured is not what the OP is talking about. It was a bad trade (which is not on Watkins) and he's hurt a lot (which might be on him or just 'the way it is') but even his harshest critics would have to admit that guy works hard.

Completely agree. Yes, a completed pass wins the game but so does a 3 yard run. On the other hand, an incomplete pass stops the clock and gives the Bengals about 3 'free' plays in comparison with running the ball and winding down the clock. The best answer isn't always highest likelihood of success but also must be weighted with the outcome if failure occurs. At that point in time with the Bengals having expended all their time outs the clock was our friend and the coaches blew it by stopping the clock.

Is it possible the opposing team had something to do with the defense allowing 41 points? They did stuff the run and sack the QB 5 times. I agree Tyrod's passing has room for improvement. I think he's an average NFL passer when considering all aspects including not throwing picks. However I am a little nervous with the inferences on the 1-6 record when he throws more than 30 times. Correlation doesn't equal causation. Do the Bills lose because Tyrod isn't capable of playing a good 30+ pass attempt game, or does Tyrod have to attempt more than 30 passes in games the Bills are losing? It may be some of both. But let's remember Rex has built this team to 'ground and pound' not win through the air.

Nice try? So you think the data is incorrect? I didn't present any qualifiers as to it's interpretation other than the implied one of actual results on the field being a useful comparative tool. Statistics never have 100% correlation to any one thing. Only when taken as a composite of data points, in the context of the situation are they useful.
