  1. Why don't they just build the new stadium next to the ralph like what the jets and giants did. They already have their offices and a a practice facility there. They can salvage some things from the old ralph and there is plenty of space to put the new stadium in the parking lot and when they tear down the old stadium they can make that space a parking lot.
  2. It is apparent to me they want to wait till after the draft to sign anyone. A lot of the offense depends on their qb. Why sign DHB if you draft Barkeley who isn't that strong or Nassib. They are hoping to draft a starting OG probably in the 3rd or 4th round. They are also thinking ahead to locking up Spiller and Wood and really only focusing on players that will be part of their future not someone who will be beaten out by a rookie in camp. We have to see how the draft shakes out and then they will be very active in filling in the holes with good but affordable 2nd tier free agents. I think they will go qb with their first pick unless the 2 franchise qb's that Nix believes in are both gone. If that is the case they will probably trade down a few times and take the next best qb at the bottom of round one.
  3. I didn't anticipate this serious topic about what Whaley described as a qb class with many flaws being turned into a mockery but that is our wall. The only point about why accuracy is so important is because you can work to improve mechanics but in doing so a player tends to go backward before they can go ahead. If the mechanics are solid and the qb is accurate a lot of the other things can improve. I just don't think the Bills want to invest in a qb that will take a few years to fix. We want one that can play this season or don't draft one until the third round or lower and develop him.
  4. Seeing that every QB in free agency and the draft has flaws. Let's put on our GM hats and as Whaley says decide what flaws we can tolerate. I will give you five categories and let you all rank them. Accuracy, Arm Strength, Football Intelligence, Athleticism, and Mental Confidence I was trying to find a category for a players ability to forget the last interception and come back and remain confident so he can lead his team to victory instead of sulking. Mental confidence is the best I could come up with ( I am open for suggestions). My Five are: #1 Accuracy (as Bill Parcells says you can't teach accuracy) #2 Football Intelligence (You got to know where to throw the ball) #3 Mental Confidence (Difference between Ryan Leaf and Peyton Manning) #4 Arm Strength (You need to make all the nfl throws) #5 Athleticism (Highly overrated look at Manning and Brady two of the best you just need pocket awareness) I honestly don't know if any of the current crop of qb's has real accuracy. Smith can throw a great 10 yard pass behind the LOS and Barkeley looked really bad this year. I hate to say it but I don't see one qb worth taking in rounds 1 or 2. I would definitely avoid round 1. The read option is just a gimmick like the wildcat. Defenses will catch up to it this year and a lot of QB's will get hurt. That is why athleticism is last. Arm strength is important to a degree. You just need to make all the throws. I would focus on the top 3. I am curious what you people think.
  5. My big 8 #1- Sharrif Floyd , #2- Dee Milliner, #3-Eric Fisher, #4 Chance Warmack, #5 Luke Joeckel, #6 Dion Jordan, #7 Jarvis Jones, #8- Barkevious Mingo If we want to run a 34 we need a guy like Shariff Floyd.
  6. Alex Smith was the best QB available. We wanted an athletic qb who is strong and experienced. A winner who is best at a west coast style offense and worth less than $ 10M a year. I would have given up a #2 for him. We want to win now and I admire the FO for trying. I don't think Barkeley who is the best west coast qb but is not super accurate or Geno Smith who is not a winner are the answer with our #1 pick. I would take either in round 2 but I would rather have Alex Smith before those two.
  7. I voted bad for all. We have Urbick and thats it. Levitre and Rheinhart or both FA's. We have an often injured guard and a few below average back ups and thats it.
  8. They are not going to offer him anything. What they will do is pick the maximum amount that he is worth. Then they let him hit free agency. They don't want a bidding war and they don't want to offer more than they have to. If they can beat the offer while staying below their max then he will stay. If not good luck.
  9. If a real great player is available at 8 than you have to pick him. If not trade down and take your qb in the bottom of the first round. I think Smith and Barkley are the only two with a first round grade. I would rather reach in the 20's than at 8 for a qb. As for Te'o that really depends on what the board says not us fans. I have a feeling he gets a low first round grade but I think our need for a franchise QB is greater than any other need. Buddy Nix will be forced to be amenable to the idea. Like I said in another post unless an absolute steal of a player is available at 8 he has to trade down. I think Whaley and Brandon will force him to do it. I hope anyway.
  10. If he gets down below 250 I think he will get a look from a lot of teams. He has all the natural talent in the world. He needs a guru not named Davis Lee to tap in to that potential. If he works really hard I think at the very least he could be a third string clip holder for some team. Why not us?
  11. Maybe Belicheat will pull a "suck for Luck" the year after Tom Brady retires. And draft the next Brady #1 overall like the stinkin' Colts did.
  12. I like Glennon. I am curious how much he improves in the next few months. A lot of NFL level correction occurs in these QB pre draft training camps. Once you get NFL level instruction and 24 hours in the day to train without having to go to school you see good players become elite. You can't teach arm strength but every thing else is correctable.
  13. +1 As a Bills fan I have to admit the hate I have for the Pats is pure jealousy. I hated the Dolphins in the 80's when they beat us 20 times in a row. I hate Saban and Alabama for beating Notre Dame and creating a dynasty. I hated Urban Meyer at Florida for the same thing. I hated Jimmy Johnson when Dallas beat us twice in the SB. When you peel away the angst it is just jealousy. I admit it. I am not overly proud of it but watching Buffalo lose 4 SB's and the Sabres lose the cup you just loathe others success. Does anyone else feel this way?
  14. Let history show that their cheating was the sole cause of their Superbowl success. The NFL will never allow their ethics to taint the brand that is the NFL but we as fans are proven time and time again that although NE is an excellent team over the past decade they can not legitimately win a title and I believe Brady will never win another one.
  15. I think #1 he really wants to be here and two he is willing to create a system based on talent and not impose a system on our talent. That is what Buffalo wanted to hear and he said it best.
  16. The current fad is college coaches thanks to Pete "the jerk" Carroll. I think with our needs and that in mind we did great.
  17. Every mock I see and none have him anywhere near the first round. You don't take a guy because he knows an offense you take the best long term skill set available. I like him but only in the second round. Barkeley, Smith, Wilson and Glennon will go in the first but that is it.
  18. It is so hard to prove the extent of his financial loss but I don't know any other way to legally gain retribution for such a heinous act.
  19. I think he should sue the crap out of this guy who did it. He played poorly in the most important game of his life. He was publicly humiliated and could slip in the draft costing him millions of dollars. All of this because some sick sick waste of breath thought it would be funny to humiliate a good trusting Christian Mormon young man and didn't know when to quit. I hope someone hurts that SOB real bad.
  20. He was a good ST coach. He was passed over for Perry Fewell. That says something. He is not even the best candidate to be interim HC on a really bad team. Why do we think he is HC material now?
  21. I think different ideas and coaching style can be a benefit to an offensive line. This guy has plenty of knowledge and experience. I am not worried. Marrone is going to tailor and offense to the skill set of his players and Morris will follow his lead and improve fundamentals. He is benefiting from a front office who have drafted and found solid FA o-lineman.
  22. I believe him. What a terrible trick to play on a good mormon person. The depth of the lies and deceit make it believable. They were hell bent on messing with his trusting nature. I hope he can overcome it and if he tests well at the combine I think Buffalo would be lucky to have a player of his caliber lead the defense.
