Absolutely. My one gripe with Gilmore is a grabber and it won't get called in New England. I expect him to live up to every bit of that contract and "all of a sudden" become a star in the league. He will get the Patriot bump that Hogan got last year. Everyone needs to prepare for the "I'm sorry but I miss Gilmore" thread that is coming. Unless of course he gets injured

Freudian! I'm so bummed she won't be in the show anymore but Cersei is such an amazing character. I hate her as I'm supposed to but felt bad for her when Tommen jumped and loved when she had the woman from the sept chained to the table. I got chills with the "you won't be dying for a while" line. I binged this series from the middle of May until last week and could barely stand the week I had to wait for a new episode. I had to google each to see who they played. Oona indeed loved her. They did a great job making Rose homely as a wildling. I also learned that Jon Snow dates Ygritte in real life. Now you all also have that incredibly useless piece of knowledge.

Well I will agree that Sansa is gorgeous Margaery was my favorite on the show. Just an absolute smokeshow.

I sat there a few times. My mother used to get invited by a Multiple Sclerosis group and the 2 of us would go up there. Players would pop over (I have a picture with Spiller after his first practice with my f*ck the Fish shirt on) and sign some things (I have a Trent signed jersey - accepting all bids ), there are some snacks, and they are shaded. Other than that it is no different than anywhere else. People over where the players come in and out looked to have a lot more success getting things signed as all players must go by them. I really enjoyed the shade more than anything lol. I clicked on this thread with the express intent of asking if anyone had heard from you and if you would be there this year. Thank you for all you do. Seriously. The only reason I am excited for camp is because it means your reports start again. Thank you. I can't say it enough! Yup every bit of this.

Ball really impressed me during Summer League. I know it is only summer league but I do enjoy his brand of basketball. Magic Johnson is the reason I am a Laker fan and I would emulate the no look passes on the playground. I love free flowing basketball so much more than half court sets. Passing is contagious as we saw from his team mates as well. I don't think they can climb out of the cellar quite yet in a ridiculously stacked west but Ball is the kind of player that might help actually attract players when the Lakers make their big move next year. I'm dreaming of LeBron to the Lakers still.

my favorite theory so far is that it is mace windu. we saw him go out the window but we never saw him die. Darth plageuis is the most popular theory and another one id buy. come to think of it did we see a body for Darth sidious after getting thrown down the shaft? -

NFL: Patriots go undefeated and win the super bowl Cowboys and Chiefs miss the playoffs Raiders have a worse record but still win what turns out to be a weak AFC West Wentz struggles again this year and Philly freaks out (I also win my bet with Ryan L Billz) Bills: Watkins plays in 16 games Running game regresses while the passing game improves TJ Yates doesn't make it out of camp Jerry Hughes has 12+ sacks -
You ever seen the things white people do videos? I think skydiving is a perfect example of this. Every time I read a story about people dying because of it I think well it's your own damn fault for jumping out of a perfectly good plane. I never have and never will go skydiving.

I know you are kidding but a friend of mine works for the unemployment office. He said that a lot of the guys that get cut during tc file for unemployment. They list Buffalo Bills as their previous employer. It had never even occurred to me that they would file and/or be eligible.

So nobody has anything to say about TT being ranked 12th best QB in the league by Yahoo? Color me surprised! -

This is exactly where my head is at with the scenario as well. I know we are a battered fan base but maybe just maybe the Bills were Tyrod's best option among the teams interested in him when taking these points into consideration. It isn't ever just one player. People have mentioned the EJ comeback against Carolina upthread. I remember FJax making an incredible heads up play and batting down a ball instead of catching it in the backfield. EJ gets the credit for a td pass with 2 seconds left but the win was made possible by that play. I won't start a new thread for this but I thought it would start some fireworks Yahoo ranks all QB situations in the NFL 13. Buffalo Bills (20 points) Starter: Tyrod Taylor (12th) Backup: Cardale Jones, TJ Yates, Nathan Peterman (17th) The group of starters between about 10 and 15 is nearly impossible to rank. Taylor has quietly been very solid for the Bills in his two seasons in Buffalo, but his numbers won’t necessarily speak to that for a few reasons. He played in a run-based system (Buffalo had a 46.4 percent of its yards come on the ground, most in the league by a wide margin), calls the league’s coldest and snowiest stadium home and, most importantly, just hasn’t had the weapons around him to succeed. You can’t change where you play, but you can change who’s around you, and that’s what the Bills did, bringing in free agent wide receivers Philly Brown and Andre Holmes and drafting Zay Jones. They added Dion Dawkins, who should help patch up the porous right side of the line (Taylor took a league-leading 42 sacks), in the draft. They also have a completely new system with head coach Sean McDermott and offensive coordinator Rick Dennison. But none of those additions are nearly as important as a healthy Sammy Watkins. In 2015, when Watkins played in 13 games, Taylor finished fifth in yards per attempt. In 2016, when Watkins played just eight games, Taylor fell to 21st. Behind Taylor, Jones beat out E.J. Manuel for the backup spot, Yates has experience, and Peterman, a rookie, showed skills at Pittsburgh that can fit into any system. You are indeed reading that right. Yahoo ranks Tyrod as the 12th best QB in the league. -

JohnC started with there were no starting opportunities in the league other than Buffalo. This is pulled from post #66 made by him: You and many others continue to make the argument that he was an attractive qb option for a number of qb starved teams. The reality is that when he had the opportunity to pursue other options no team was interested in him at his former salary or even at a lower salary rate. The stark reality is he took a salary cut with a shorter term because he had no other offers. If you believe that there is still potential for him, even with his glaring limitations, then so be it. What I am saying in a declarative manner is that when he had an opportunity to avail himself to the market there were no takers. -
I quoted you to add the Rovell stat and 26cb beat me to it below. he got 50k a day! That is insane! Phil was an excellent manager of personalities. He knew exactly what buttons to push and at what time. Getting the egos of Kobe and Shaq to work together as long as they did and then reigning in Kobe a second time were great work. He is the Peter Principle at work. Amazing coach terrible FO guy. I don't think his heart was in it as much as he thought it would be and I also think he was too married to his triangle. The Warriors have completely changed the game and it passed him by.

I agree 100% and am arguing from a position I don't fully support. A position I do support is not having kids teaching HS. Some sort of arbitrary have to be out of HS for 10 years before being allowed to teach it rule would help curb a lot of this. They are peers in my mind at 24 and 17. Young dumb and full of .... -

As a founding member of the inane "CoT" I absolutely agree with what you posted. He most likely won't be a franchise guy but I'm not convinced yet. In my mind he gets this year and we will all have our answer. If he regresses again it is all but over for his starting opportunities, if he is a middling QB again it is likely what he is a middling qb, if he improves though the Bills might have their guy and 2 first rounders next year to improve the team with. This is his prove it year. I have to jump in and defend Gunner real quick. He is always level headed when discussing things (except maybe Rex ) and has very defined reasons that he doesn't believe in TT. I fully respect his opinion on player evals and he has his reasons for not believing. He doesn't repeat them over and over and he is respectful in discussing them. I hope he is really wrong on this one though! -

I went into it above but maybe he likes Buffalo? Maybe he likes Dennison from his time with him? Maybe it was Cleveland or SF or the Jets who are bottom of the barrel and offer less of a chance to win than Buffalo that wanted him? Maybe (as Shaw has opined) he believes in himself and thinks he will cash in big next year? He got his security last year and again this year. Last year he made more money than he had the rest of his career combined. He now has over 20 million dollars. His signing here originally was him betting on himself, is it that unlikely that he is doing it again? I could be right, you could be right, John could be right but none of us know. I do believe that his agent reached out to teams. I do believe they thought Buffalo was the best fit for him which is why they stayed. I also however believe that there were other teams interested and we will never know their names. Tampering behind closed doors happens all the time but for a team to go on record admitting they were tampering would be unheard of and just plain dumb. -

They are only 7 years apart but I think the issue is more the power dynamic. I personally have no problem with people of the age of consent making the decisions they make but I can see the issue here. As a teacher she needs to treat all students the same. This kid was certainly getting preferential treatment -
I'm still mad about the NBA blocking his trade to the Lakers

Don't let perfection be the enemy of very good. Not every team gets to have a top 10 QB that can strap a team on its back and there isn't even 10 guys in the league that can do that. The rest of the teams need to make due and you make due with the best options available. If he is the 15th - 20th best QB in the league that would make him a valuable commodity both to the team and in the league. You have been ruined by Brady. What he and the Pats* are doing is amazing but he has a fantastic team around him, probably the best coach of all time, and is in the conversation for best QB of all time if he hasn't already achieved that status. TT has had subpar talent around him, Rex Ryan, and was a first time starter. Look at recent SB QBs and you will see what I mean. Ryan and Brady are both top 5-10 QBs which was the anomaly, Cam and P Manning when they met? Cam had a great year but his career puts him somewhere around 10-15th best in the league and Manning was terrible, Seahawks both year were led by their defense as RW might be top 10 now but wasn't when they went to the SB, before that the super bowl matchup was Colin Kaepernick and Joe Flacco both who imo are worse than TT, Eli Manning won the SB before that and has been maybe around top 10 his career with some absolutely dreadful seasons mixed in. QBs absolutley help and make a huge impact on the game but ultimately the talent around them drives their success. Look no further than Brees and Rivers for proof of that. This was my issue with your post. A lot of conjecture passed off as fact. For starters you made up the bolded. You took a lot of your ideas on the situation and presented them as fact. That doesn't make them a fact. You also don't know for sure that he would have been cut without renegotiating although that is a pretty safe bet. -
We looked hard at Maine and even reached out to their travel office but didn't get much help we will definitely look into this! Please let me know how it goes! With so many recommendations for Lake George it has moved to the front of the list. I have a college buddy from Glens Falls so that might even be a perfect home base so Saratoga and Lake George can happen. Not a chance. 60s are shorts and t-shirt weather! Ithaca is only about 35 minutes from me so we do a lot of day trips there. In the fall I ref High School Soccer in that area so I spend a lot of time there. I hate the idea of paying for a room that close to home. I'd rather just sleep in my own bed (yes I'm cheap ) I live in the Finger Lakes and we do many a wine tour as well. This summer we will be doing a brewery tour as many have started to pop up on the wine trails. Do you care to share your list? If it is extensive I can pm you my email address. Hey honey we are gonna have some guests over tonight. Yeah I know him, well we talk on that football board you say I spend too much time on. Yeah he's from my hometown we know a lot of the same people. He's friends with Fitz. and then I get disinvited Sesame Place was on the list but we didn't know what else was around and neither of us were pumped about the idea of 3 days with Elmo. Thank you for this though as it might make the trip more worth it!

Letchworth is out. Neither my wife or I are hikers and I'm looking for activities to do. Old Fort looks interesting if we go the Niagara Falls route it could be a nice day trip. Is it a town or just an old fort?

Yup and that 17 year old is an idiot. He should have kept his mouth shut and he could have enjoyed that for a while. -
5 year anniversary coming up and looking for a mini getaway with the wife. The trouble we are running into is we want to bring our 2 1/2 year old. What are some good family friendly places to vacation for a few days? All of NY and surrounding states except the City are on the table. We want to spend 3 or 4 days in early August before my wife and I go on a mini weekend get away to really celebrate. Some places we are looking into that I was hoping for feedback on (other suggestions very welcome): Lake George Old Forge Niagara Falls (we do all have passports) Saratoga Thousand Islands Somewhere in Maine (no idea where to even begin) We live between Syracuse and Rochester so it isn't a big deal to travel either direction. I get free rooms at Turning Stone so we thought of maybe using that as home base and traveling to Old Forge from there and places local to that as well. Help!

Dumb Carucci column...assessing QB position

I think the key here is THEY left. Harbaugh imo is responsible for the light turning on for Alex Smith. CK was not at all set up for success with the dumpster fire that SF turned into. They are on their 4th HC in 4 years. I don't think CK is great but I also don't think he really got a fair shot once Harbaugh moved on. Roman has long been praised for his run schemes and received criticism for his pass game design. It certainly may be on the QBs he had to work with but I don't think it is an airtight case to say so. Yes your opinion is the only fact. Where do you rank TT as a starter in this league? Is he top 25 in your book or hell even top 30? We are talking a league where Brian Hoyer and Josh McCown are slated to start this year. I can tell your a smart guy but this second post is dripping with both conjecture and condescension. Specifically the bolded yes his agent and teams may have tampered and discussed a player under contract but there are so many variables. You have no idea if any other teams offered the starting spot. How much money were the other teams offering? Maybe another team like the 49ers or Jets offered more but he didn't want to go to a bottom of the barrel team. Maybe the Texans offered more but he didn't want to live in Texas. Maybe the Browns offered more but he didn't want to go to the factory of sadness. Maybe he loves Buffalo and his team mates. Do you really think that if Buffalo hadn't re-signed him he wouldn't have had an offer to be someone's starter? I am comfortable in saying he would have. That is my conjecture however naive you want to say that makes me. Even the most ardent anti-TT guys have him in the top 25 QBs in the NFL he would be starting somewhere next year. There is so much you don't know about the situation that sitting here and declaring that you know exactly what happened and went through his mind when making the decision is problematic for your argument.
