  1. The problem isn't that he posts in twitter or that twitter isn't taken away from him. He is a good football player, but he's hindered by a lack of mental fortitude. In the past players were shielded from this, but given the podium of twitter, he's able to broadcast his inability to cope with the mental stress of the game to all of the fans. I'm ok with him being drafted where he was, I dislike Donte because while he hypes a lot, he lacks the discipline to control himself. These latest twitter escapades have defined his shortcoming as a football player. He can't put other things out of his mind and play ball. This fits in with Buddy's comment about players who have played in big games and aren't phased. There's a lot of talk about his 'passion' and team loyalty, but he's going to go to another team and say all kinds of wonderful things and make all the same promises he made here. Then he's going to have a bad game and a fan is going to say something and he's going to be unable to right the ship. It's a more mild case of Vince Young syndrome.
  2. I think the problem isn't that people dislike 'contrary' opinions, but there's been a subset of posts that have cropped up on this board that are 'damned if they do, damned if they don't'. There's been a group of posters who will take the 'negative' side regardless of any move the Bills make. The Bills could trade Fitzpatrick for Peyton Manning and people would HOWL that it is setting the franchise back and is a glaring mistake. In short, a contrary opinion is fine and often appreciated. It's what keeps thing moving along without a hundred /agree posts, but the outright blatant ridiculous negativity is old and uninteresting.
  3. Seriously, Patriots drafted a HUGE upgrade at QB. They will get better simply by not having Brady on the field.
  4. It's tough to say how much I like it. I like that their looking to beef up the overall talent level (and size) and create competition as positions. They also seem to be getting players who have a stronger mental fortitude. Unfortunately, this roster was so deficient in these values, you're counting on a lot of very young players which means their consistency is likely not going to be there. I think I'll like it a lot in a year or two though.
  5. It's got to be tough for people to say that Ralph is running the draft this year. It won't be as tough to say Al Davis is running the Raider's drafts still.
  6. A QB flaming out in Buffalo is a much better article though. These type of article have very little to do with the football value.
  7. There's a lot of people who do stupid things. What's amusing is that they don't realize that Donte being Donte, he thrives on the attention and if no one replied or followed him on twitter, he'd be way more upset
  8. I like that the secondary is all crying because they picked guys to play in the secondary. Apparently, Whitner and Florence feel that they are the only players the Bills would need if they are re-signed. Apparently, they are the anointed ones and all other secondary players should just be let go..
  9. Well, given that they had three months and no idea what type of players they had...you figure last year's draft would be unique
  10. Don't bring your common sense in here, troll.
  11. Too bad the ignore feature isn't a 'balckhole' and just makes their posts entirely invisible to you like the 3rd pick of the first round?
  12. how unfortunate..where will all the Bills players gather to play Madden now?
  13. If they don't make the pro bowl in the first year, then they are a bust
  14. I'm not sure if this post is in support of taking mallet.
  15. And if they want more quality CBs so they can play more aggressively with their safety?
  16. What leads you to believe that? Perhaps they just realize that the defense is worse..
  17. You do know that this wasn't a 'secret' before Ralph said anything? It was also a 'remark' not a strategy
  18. What makes you think Bruce would be a good coach? He was a special talent, but not what you want in a coach or...well, a human being.
  19. It was moot before that because the values were never close to what the chart professes
  20. This is hardly a win for the fans. The players have shown themselves to be more divorced from reality than the owners. Unfortunately, this will probably cause things to go nuclear because the owners have financially backed themselves into a corner.
  21. I think Modrak needs to go, but there's no need to stretch and distort things like this to make that case
