  1. No! No! No! I've said it before, and I'll keep saying it. Stay with the top tier schools; big time programs will give you more consistency . . . every one of these guys you mentioned are perfect examples, all draft-day crap shoots, and, well, all have been more crap than shoot. A simple draft formula: Draft big people from big schools (with occasional wow! exceptions).
  2. yep!
  3. I think we should take every one of them, they all sound good - especially the defensive guys!
  4. ditto except we're trying to experience the "luxury" part of it
  5. It was a bad call, marginal at best. The official was looking through a defender to make the call: that is a guess more than a certainty. He thought he saw something, the Titan defensive player did a great acting job, and the official bought it. This happens just about every play, it's a guess, and this time it cost us.
  6. "Spiller = Ronnie Harmon" Perfect assessment!, Yep, that's exactly right.
  7. Wow Reddog, kindred spirits . . . Rangers fan; is something going on with the NBA--I haven't heard? hockey is only interesting in person; becoming more disillusioned with college football by the day--the only thing that will save it is a play-off system; but March madness is always fun for a few weeks . . . I would add this about sports: I (and I think "we") always love a compelling and interesting story. For example: Houston yesterday; My HS alma mater is in the PA state semifinals for the first time ever=GO GATORS!;Just read a book called "Remember Why You Play"--about a HS football coach & team in Texas; Not a fan of his, but Tiger Woods in the hunt this weekend; the last half of the NASCAR race last weekend; Love Boise St for their potential to wreck the BCS each year; Underdog stories; Little League WS when a local team is in it; etc.; and always a fan of those teams I have personal connections with like the local HS, my college, people I know, etc.
  8. That is funny Or fill in the blank with just about any other DC than George Edwards in the NFL right now: "I'm not a big fan of Gregg Williams _________ but you won't convince me that the Bills wouldn't have more sacks if he was the DC."
  9. That is what I was wondering?
  10. Hmmm? My beef with Spiller is not the playing time he doesn't get. It's what he does with it when he does get it -- which so far, has been next to nothing.
  11. Ah, as said, the Charlie Brown like kick that set up the Jets comeback . . . nothing more to add.
  12. This is a point I've made elsewhere: We need to stop drafting combine freaks from the low-rent districts of college football; that is, places like Richmond, James Madison, Troy State, South Dakota St., Central Florida, etc., and go after major program people. Yes, there will always be exceptions--in both directions (e.g. Arron Maybin on the negative side, Fred Jackson on the positive ledger, etc.)--but big time school & conference players are generally going to be better investments over the long haul. I'll give exhibit A: David Nelson, non-starter at Florida, but able to adapt pretty quickly to the NFL.
  13. And to think, last year I was willing to give up a #1 pick for him. Oh well, if we can get him for next to nothing now, sure.
  14. You can always become a Jet fan.
  15. Yeah, when I saw that I was thinking: "Am I seeing what I think I'm seeing, and why are they keeping the camera on him?"
  16. And the evidence so far shows that people who live in another part of the country have no idea.
  17. Really Sione? You can't be serious? Jets’ Pouha says Bills WR insensitive to Sept. 11 By the way, when you slammed CJ Spiller to the ground with that un-called personal foul, it was an insult to African-Amercans everywhere! An unfortunate reminder of all the injustices of the pre-civil rights days.
  18. Look, if Fitz and Stevie connect on just one of those three opportunities they had in the last 30 seconds, we're talking about what a great coach he is for keeping this team together through all they been the past few weeks. Perspective Dude, Perspective.
  19. yeah! baby!!!!
  20. CJ is to TENTATIVE in running the ball as Trent Edwards was to TENTATIVE in throwing the ball!
  21. Yep! It's obvious at this point that Edward is in thick with Chan. At the end of the season, Nix will instruct Chan to fire him. And then we start over again. But, as a coach I told always anyone that will listen, I'm a lot smarter Coach when I have better players . . . funny how that works.
  22. Johnson needs to be resigned. If a top tier receiver is available in the draft, get him. If not, go for a very good free agent. But really, the desperate needs on this team are on defense: more help on the line, a legit pass-rushing LB or DE, a fast linebacker, and more help on the corners. But we really can't let Johnson walk, there are too many other needs to create another hole.
