  1. Really, all three would be good as long as whomever is picked turns out to be All-Pro quality. I think the one big X-Factor in all this is the teams perspective/outlook for Chris Hairston. I think he a quality starter at right tackle, and if they feel he can come back and man that position next year, that takes a high need to draft someone there off the board—and if that's the case, we can look elsewhere. I hope thats the case.
  2. Great work Astro. It appears there are some good option for OT in later rounds, which may move us away from Robinson in the 1st. If that happen, I say a receiver or LB early—either would help the right away, and a solid lineman later, that alone would be a very good draft.
  3. I went heavy on Offense, and usually took the best value guy at a position of need. With one exception, picking Williams from BC at (we was a very good value at the that spot, but not a high need for the Bills, but this is more looking towards the future) …. anyhow, I like him, he reminds me of a young version of Fred Jackson. And if we got Amaro in the 2nd, with Watkins, WOW!!! My ILB were just the highest rated guys at the time, we need to get better there (assuming Kiko gets moved to the outside) And if we could get Fales in the 5th??? I almost went with Robinson (OT Auburn in the 1st), but didn't. That turned out to be bad because it effectively shut me out of OT the rest of the way, there were never any that were close to value of the pick form there on out. In hind site, I should have gone with him, there seemed to be plenty of WRs available each round. 1 -9 WR SAMMY WATKINS CLEMSON 2-41 TE JACE AMARO TEXAS TECH 3-73 RB ANDRE WILLIAMS BOSTON COLLEGE 4-105 ILB YAWIN SMALLWOOD UCONN 5 - QB DAVID FALES SAN JOSE STATE 6 - ILB LAMIN BARROW LSU 7 - G MICHAEL SCHOFIELD MICHIGAN
  4. Thanks Trader
  5. yes, I had the same thought when I read this. While the rest of your analysis is solid, this point was untenable.
  6. I for one, am not losing any sleep over Pettine going . . . His defense, while exciting with lots of exotic blitzes, gave up a lot of points to good teams, Couldn't stop the run when it was most needed, and He proved his deep lack of intellectual acumen by taking a job with the Cleveland Browns! Why would any NFL team want a guy who wanted to go to the mess that is the Cleveland Browns???
  7. that make sense, because Crossman must have some kind of very special relationship with Marrone . . . how can we explain him still be here???
  8. that site is really annoying, …. am I supposed to be able to make picks? I can't get it to hold still, and when it does, it won't allow me to do anything …. and I'm not paying it any $
  9. in the spirit of Branch Ricky . . . we finished 6-10 before him, we finished 6-10 with him, and we can finish 6-10 without him!
  10. yeah, we need another guy like Spiller
  11. well, the smart ones have avoided Cleveland like the plague … if Pettine goes, maybe just as well, there has to be something wrong with anyone that wants to walk into that mess
  12. Ebron, but I would also be good with Robinson or Watkins
  13. or we could just say, some people (like Bill B.) are smarter than others; and when that plays out in a competitive situation, they do smarter things than the rest of us
  14. I like Brian Moorman, he has been a great ambassador and warrior (as much as a punter can) for the Bills over the last decade …. there were many seasons where he was the best athlete on the field for them. But I hope they make an attempted to bring in other serious candidates and make it an open competion. I watch the Chargers and think, "wow", now that is what an NFL punter is supposed to do. Yes, its a punter, but a good one can make a world of difference.
  15. Generally, all your ideas make sense. Concerning CJ Spiller: I have been an advocate for a couple of years of putting him in more slot and wide-out opportunities. He's his best in space, so instead of trying to run him between the tackles (and the not so good guards we have), put him wider, and develop some more creative ways to get him the ball where he is most effective and successful. . . . P.S. Chan was way ahead of Hackett on this, he did it some, although I would like to see it even more than he did. Also, I would say its time to draft a replacement Running back. Fred is still good, but we're on borrowed time now.
  16. ouch! that's not nice.
  17. so we get none this year?
  18. no, Maybin is till the biggest flop. Ask any PSU fan and they could tell you he was a one-hit-wonder, who padded his stats against Youngstown State, Costal Carolina, etc. Although the TJ pick is beginning to measure up, fortunately for him, he wasn't a 1st round pick . . . and come to think of it, as bad as he's been, he's still contributed more that Aaron Maybin ever did.
  19. Great post, and the conclusion is . . . http://youtu.be/aYKIcnj1MJY Bad! I heard Tim Tebow is a free agent, we should go after him . . .
  20. I think we discussed this the other day, and the same consensus will result today: If he's there, pick him.
  21. We're all sorry about that
  22. I like your idea of an elite OT in round one, but here's a serious question: If Chris Hairston comes back, can he play Guard? Did he ever play it in his time with the Bills? Anyone . . .
  23. As Mark Twain said, "there are lies, damn lies, and statistics." Yes, while all these numbers are good, the one thing we all know, when a team wanted to line up and run the ball down our throats, they could (exhibit A = last game of the season). Any time we fell behind early in a game, that's what would happen. Look at our loses this season and compare the opponents rushing yards in those games to the game we won. So yes, the Defense did improve, but until they can be true run stuffers, the most important stat will still tell it all: # of W vs. # of L ????
