Bills working to keep Moorman [update: signed 1-10-2014]
CSBill replied to ny33's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like Brian Moorman, he has been a great ambassador and warrior (as much as a punter can) for the Bills over the last decade …. there were many seasons where he was the best athlete on the field for them. But I hope they make an attempted to bring in other serious candidates and make it an open competion. I watch the Chargers and think, "wow", now that is what an NFL punter is supposed to do. Yes, its a punter, but a good one can make a world of difference. -
Generally, all your ideas make sense. Concerning CJ Spiller: I have been an advocate for a couple of years of putting him in more slot and wide-out opportunities. He's his best in space, so instead of trying to run him between the tackles (and the not so good guards we have), put him wider, and develop some more creative ways to get him the ball where he is most effective and successful. . . . P.S. Chan was way ahead of Hackett on this, he did it some, although I would like to see it even more than he did. Also, I would say its time to draft a replacement Running back. Fred is still good, but we're on borrowed time now.

ouch! that's not nice.

so we get none this year?

A TY and a TJ diverged in the woods...
CSBill replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
no, Maybin is till the biggest flop. Ask any PSU fan and they could tell you he was a one-hit-wonder, who padded his stats against Youngstown State, Costal Carolina, etc. Although the TJ pick is beginning to measure up, fortunately for him, he wasn't a 1st round pick . . . and come to think of it, as bad as he's been, he's still contributed more that Aaron Maybin ever did. -
Great post, and the conclusion is . . . http://youtu.be/aYKIcnj1MJY Bad! I heard Tim Tebow is a free agent, we should go after him . . .

Bills need to poop or get off the pot.

I think we discussed this the other day, and the same consensus will result today: If he's there, pick him. -
We're all sorry about that

My pre-combine draft thoughts, how about yours

I like your idea of an elite OT in round one, but here's a serious question: If Chris Hairston comes back, can he play Guard? Did he ever play it in his time with the Bills? Anyone . . . -
Bills D finishes #1 in NFL in yards allowed per drive
CSBill replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As Mark Twain said, "there are lies, damn lies, and statistics." Yes, while all these numbers are good, the one thing we all know, when a team wanted to line up and run the ball down our throats, they could (exhibit A = last game of the season). Any time we fell behind early in a game, that's what would happen. Look at our loses this season and compare the opponents rushing yards in those games to the game we won. So yes, the Defense did improve, but until they can be true run stuffers, the most important stat will still tell it all: # of W vs. # of L ???? -
The bigger question: why is he still here? And if he does have talent, is it less than Thad's or Tuel?
-
He proved he's capable, keep him

Candidates to replace Marrone next January

That, my friend, may be the funniest thing I've read on this board all year . . . on the very last day, no less. -
. . . you lost me at "After"

Saturday (1/4) Chiefs at Colts - 4:35 PM >>>> I thinks the Chiefs win on the road. They are more balanced on offense and have a much better defense than the Colts. Andrew Luck will keep it close, but in the end, the Chiefs are the better team. Saints at Eagles - 8:10 PM >>>> This will be a track meet, and the weather will probably play a factor. The Eagles are on a role, and the Saints have been somewhat inconsistent down the stretch. Neither team has that good of a defense, so I give the Eagles the edge because they have more play-makers on offense Sunday (1/5) Chargers at Bengals - 1:05 PM >>>> This seems like the easiest one to pick, but I could see the the Chargers pulling the upset. Rivers is gutsy, and seems to win games he's not supposed to (ask Denver). But in the end, the Bengals are pretty solid all the way around, not necessarily spectacular at anything, but very good at a lot of things. Bengals hold serve in a close one, maybe comes down to a game winning field goal. 49ers at Packers - 4:40 PM >>>> This could be the most entraining game of the weekend. The elements will play a part, and Aaron Rodgers is the "feel good story of the week"—not to mention, he is among the best QBs in the league right now. But SF is good, very good! I think in the end, his moxy and the home field advantage pull it out for the Packers, in a nail biter.

Well, we all know one team that won't be playing. So lets have some fun, this is NOT "who will win the Super Bowl," just "who will win this weekend"? Tell us your picks, and why: NFL Playoffs Schedule: Week 18 Saturday (1/4) Chiefs at Colts - 4:35 PM Saints at Eagles - 8:10 PM Sunday (1/5) Chargers at Bengals - 1:05 PM 49ers at Packers - 4:40 PM Your picks (and why) . . .

take him ,just like in Baseball, where you can never have too many pitchers, draft him, and let the battle of M&M's begin

Blown call at end of KC SD game costs Steelers
CSBill replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I live around a bunch of Steelers fans, it was very pleasurable to watch their meltdown yesterday . . . just plain fun -
and this is another very good point because you can't get better by trading off your best players, or letting them walk
-
And then tag and trade him. And I would not be opposed to tagging him and playing him again next season . . . he would be the one playing a game of high stakes then, would he risk an injury that would depreciate his value dramatically? Hmmmm? The more I think about it, I say tag him, and try to sign him, but if not, play and say good-bye next year.
-
please, let this go away, soon we will have the "what if we had picked Barkley" thread . . . stop, just stop! BUT, what about Gino Smith, at least he played the entire season, and looked good at times ???
-
maybe he should have been ??? a heck of a lot better than watching them run, 20, 30, 40, yards up the field . . . indeed, looks downright brilliant compared to what we watched this year
