You said it yourself, savers get punished. It costs more to have a modest savings account open than you receive in interest. Have you gone to the grocery store lately? Real wages are down over the past decade. The stock market is down over the past decade. Housing is down, yet Potato Chips cost $8 a pound and unless you go out to the Taco bell 99 cent menu, you get punished. I think you may not respect the idea of hyperinflation which will hit when bailouts reach critical mass and people denounce all currency. They have been doing it fairly orderly now for 3 years, but as you see, the US is on the hook for the rest of the world. If you peg the dollar to gold, there is inflation creeping towards 20% since this mess started. I think that is a fairly conservative estimate to use going forward. Celebrating the modest rise you have seen so far given the macro situation is like Terry Schiavo's doctor celebrating keeping her alive. It's all artificial, and if you can tell me how to make $15 trillion in debt disappear without going into a depression or letting real goods rise at this point....I want you in Washington.

Thank You I was at the game as well. I did NOT want to support this venture at all and this was my first year going up there. I was very happy with the experience and I think the local people understand the paranoia involved on the part of Buffalonians....but I talked with about 15 different groups of people and there was a great mix of types of fans and levels of football experience, but the one thing in common was EVERY person there had a positive attitude about being at that game and were going to make the best of it. The stadium was pretty much full. Outside....sure, it wasn't like the Ralph, but at the parking lot I was in there were groups tailgating and throwing footballs around. The parking guys were getting a kick of the groups that were doing it up. The way I look at it, instead of grumbling about how sterile the place is....I took it as an opportunity to be an ambassador as both a Buffalonian, and a football fan. No question is stupid, and have a good time while meeting new people. I would say the atmosphere was more charged in the stadium than any home Sabres game this year. People were making noise on 3rd down....maybe only 40% of them, but there were plenty of educated and loyal fans in there to make a go of it. I had no problem yelling, and then singing the Shout song after scores. Even if many around me didn't join in, again, they got a kick out of it. It would be like me going to a Manchester United game. I wouldn't know the chants, but I would enjoy being in the atmosphere, know enough about the sport, and appreciate the experience. The Bills themselves treated this as an away game in a hostile environment.....at least until they started to take control. George Wilson set the tone with his comments early in the week, and the guys were in a foul mood in warmups. Only a few would even acknowledge the fans as they went back in the tunnel, and none of them came out for individual introductions. I understand where they were coming from....but maybe next year they will warm up to the idea a little more themselves and understand if they keep playing with passion, they will continue to gain some traction up there. I would absolutely go again next year......no way would I pay face value, but there were plenty of 50% offers out there, and I was shocked that I could scalp an extra ticket for what I had paid for it....and this was to a scalper by chance standing in a hotel bathroom line. I can understand the resentment of losing a home date, but the Canadians were very cordial, understand our concerns, and gave it a good go in my opinion. I don't embrace the series, but I don't look at it as a boogeyman anymore either.

It's is simple as this.... Risk/Reward Is it worth giving up a 3rd round pick to make sure you have a starting WR the next 3 games against solid but very beatable rivals where just going 2-1 against them puts you in a 70% position to host a home playoff game with a possible additional $12 million in revenue? Sure, he will need to get up to speed, but the learning curve for this team has fast forwarded 18 months over the past 5 weeks. It's an insurance move with upside like this that good teams make....even if there is a risk of it not helping. David Nelson needs to be in the slot, and even though Roosevelt is a gamer, he can't be a difference maker. Jones is a ? coming of the high sprain and with the amount of flowing running plays horizontal at the line this team has been using, it's only a matter of time before Freddy or Spiller get an awkward twist of their legs that keeps them out for more than a few plays. A move like this will more than likely BOOST morale as it signals they are taking a shot this year.

If Jay Cutler financed a gambling operation and killed dozens of innocent animals by drowning, electrocution, etc.......even though he was a high pick, a successful NFL quarterback with plenty of previous fanfare....there would be nowhere near the level of support given to him by the media, league, et. al. They would have run him out of the league and it would be open season on him. This comes after clandestine sexual encounters while knowingly infected, trying to bring drugs through airport security....it's not like the guy was a choirboy to begin with. It's all about the $$$$....and Boomer's along for the ride.

I don't get the people bashing the defense. Any longtime football watcher can feel the living pulse and momentum of a game. Other than early in the New England game, the Bills have never had me running scared on that front. Even the Oakland game they had some good coverage and Oakland just made plays. Cincy they let up a little but the team really did get jobbed on all those calls. Last year you felt teams would go through at will. This year, you guys are correct...it is actual gameplanning that has shaped most of the defensive flow. The biggest problem so far has been the injuries. The ENTIRE front line is dinged right now in one form or another. The bye is coming at a great time since most of them will refresh having 14 days between games. It's just a well-coached, hard working team.

It might sound like treason.....but the Bills have pretty much taken the Patriots philosophy to build this team the past 2 years. The key has always been The Hoodie is a very smart man who can gameplan, find weakness, adjust on the fly, and trusts his players. The Patriots were never about talent on paper....they have always been about finding football smarts, even if it means average to good talent....and when the tide of smart football players who can be trusted reaches critical mass...then you suppliment with some superstar/former star/more talent than brains guys...because the smart guys can lead them and help cover weakness. It's a simple formula....it really is. Too many guys though start drooling over numbers, raw skill, etc. Modrak was the poster boy for that with gimmick picks galore. Chan can coach with hoodie but is classy, honest, and without a personality disorder. Fitzpatrick is Gailey's guy who he can trust in full to be quick/smart/decisive. We have a bunch of ugly crackers on the line who enjoy punishing people and can communicate on the fly. We spread the field with hardworking kids who want to make plays and battle, and we exploit weak matchups. We limit our mistakes and take measured chances. Defense is loaded with smart leaders who may not be A+ talent guys, but who will know their assignments, can communicate, and follow through the whistle. Wilson, Scott, Williams, Edwards, Kelsay, Barnett (what a godsend), McGee when he gets back....they just do their thing and wait for you to be stupid, or they take chances at the right time. Merriman, Florence....great mix of talent and emotion....Byrd, Spence Johnson...solid people....Darius and Moats are puppy dogs off the field, but play like you stole their kibble. Just the mix with all the vet and young linebackers is possible because they all work and learn together. And people that complain about the defense right now......it is hugely different than the past 2 years. They are actually solid against the run 70% of the time and are preventing the bombs downfield. Sooner or later they are going to take a chance and force you to do something stupid....or they just wait for you to make a mistake and can tolerate giving up some drives and points because they trust their own offense. This team pretty much IS, the Patriots. Except they are honest, hard working, likable people from top to bottom. That is what is making this ride right now so much fun. You don't have to hold your nose and root for the team....you honestly WANT these players as people to succeed.

I'll be the first to admit I knew little to nothing about this big fella before today, but he was nasty in blocking up front, and had the Eagles out of sorts all day. So many times after the whistle guys were trying to take shots at him. Someone had their hands in his facemask at one point and he just let the guy go and gave him a little Gerbe pat on the head just to PO him even more. Hairston was great the 10-12 plays I singled in on him. Urbik wanted to kill that guy on the INT and is another big nasty. These kids on both sides are just hustling and bringing attitude. Anyone have any info on Smith though? I see he was an academic all-american in psychology and criminal justice. Is he also a stand-up comic. Fun to watch all day!

The boys goy outmuscled in the 2nd and they all admit it. I think these guys have their heads on straight. It wasn't a bad game, but one you need if you are really taking the next step. I think they come out like madmen next week.
