  1. Doc, I'd love that scenario. Gotta re-sign Florence or at least get another starting CB, too. I don't have a Twitter account, nor do I ever anticipate getting one, but good luck with your whole "campaign", 'WSS?'.
  2. Haha! Nice!! 'The Stranger' is a great album ("Album?? WTF is an ALBUM?!"). My favorite Billy Joel song is on it...'Scenes from an Italian Restaurant'. It's "Old Guys Night" @ TBD...you, SJBF, & me.
  3. Thanks, SJBF. Good stuff. I hadn't seen this yet. Here's two that I found interesting: 1) "Sixth, the possibility of an opt out was included as an open item. Balzer reports that the final version included no opt out, making it a firm 10-year deal. (It has been reported that the players want a potential opt out after seven years.)" - I don't want an opt out on either side. The reason we're living through this ordeal now is the owners' own stupidity back in 2006 (save for Ralph Wilson & Mike Brown). Make a deal and live with it. Period. 2) "Tenth, short-term injured reserve would be available, along with a possible game-day roster of 47. The deal approved by the owners reportedly limits the game-day roster to 46." - I've thought for years that there should be a short-term injured reserve. It's absolutely assinine that a player is lost for the year if he's placed on IR. I'd advocate a 47 man game day roster vs. a 46, as well.
  4. You must be...but at least you've got company. I knew you'd get that Two Guys reference if you threw out Twin Fair and those other "moldy oldies". The memories came flooding back when I saw your post. I remember my brother and I riding our bikes up to Neisner's (later 'Big N' then 'Ames') as kids on Grand Island. My dad also worked for W.T. Grants. Wow, where did the years (and these places) go? Ah, the "good old days".
  5. Yes, simply look at the posts prior to yours. It's all there.
  6. But less than half as fattening.
  7. They're like any other big business with sales/customer service reps and a high turnover rate. You can call and get the answer you did then call back 5 minutes later and get a different rep who'll give you the discount. You've just got to be willing to play the game. Be respectful and be direct. Let them know what you want. Don't threaten, just be honest. If you still don't get what you want, you can always ask for Customer Retention. Often times, they won't let it go that far and will offer you what you want. If you have any other questions I'm sure you could 'PM' Fezmid. He's TBD's resident expert on these matters and the all-around DirecTV guru here.
  8. I actually set my DVR for this last week and set it to record over the time slot, as well. I love the NFL Yearbooks. They can make an 0-16 football team look like they just won the Super Bowl.
  9. Agreed. I echo the sentiments of everyone who commented on the Sabres hat. I noticed it too and thought, "very cool."
  10. A 7th is the absolute most I'd give up for Pryor. With an abbreviated offseason, he'll be even more useless this year than the average project QB. He'd be a waste of a roster spot, IMO, unless you're going to stash him on IR. No thanks. Let somebody else claim him as their project.
  11. 'Photoshop' it and see what you think...
  12. First, you assume that the lockout will be over. Then, you assume that you'll still be married. Ever the optimist...
  13. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family in your time of grief, Scott. I lost my beloved mom to non-Hodgkins lymphoma in 2008 and there's not a day that I don't think about her. So sorry for your loss.
  14. What do I want? 29 owners to vote that they won't ratify until Jones, Snyder, & Kraft sell their teams and the Jaguars agree to move to LA.
  15. I think the Bills' biggest needs are RT and backup QB. Add CB if they lose Florence. I believe they re-sign Florence & Poz. Whitner doesn't appear to be in their plans if you read between the lines of past comments made by Gailey & Nix, so I believe he's gone. I believe they'll make a run at Tyson Clabo of ATL, which would be great. Excellent character guy and a quick study so he'd absorb the playbook in a shortened offseason. Should they fail to get Clabo, I think they'll pass on anyone else like Trueblood of the Bucs and stick with what they have which would be a mistake, IMO. For some reason, I think they'll kick the tires on Vince Young but really don't know which direction they go to fill their backup QB vacancy. Orton definitely won't be here. They're looking for a backup for Fitz, not someone to compete for the starting job. I'd love for them to get either Zach Miller or Kevin Boss (in that order) but, sadly, I don't think they'll even address TE unless it's a non-difference maker, depth-type player (which is all they have now). Just my two cents...
  16. Beat me to it, Jack. The Bills Backers are your best bet. There appear to be three within striking distance: Bills Backers of North Pittsburgh is approximately 30 miles from Johnstown. Bills Backers of Pittsburgh is approximately 60 miles. New Castle Bills Backers is approximately 90 miles. You may want to travel further if one of the other clubs has more members and you want to be around a larger crowd. In any event, it looks like you have several options, Mike. Good luck.
  17. The only way he's bailing out is via the Pearly Gates.
  18. Tweet him and find out...
  19. I just can't see either side throwing away all of the money that's on the table by missing the first regular season game. Not to mention the PR nightmare they'll unleash. At this point, neither side is garnering much sympathy from the fanbase which is beyond fed up. The players and owners are a bunch of arrogant, greedy bastards but they're not stupid.
  20. Quarterback Left Tackle Center Defensive End Cornerback
  21. C, UConn is correct. You are ABSOLUTELY linking to a pic from the 2010 field. What you saw is BEFORE they started tearing out the old turf. As has been stated in previous posts, Russ Brandon confirmed that the endzones will be royal blue, so fear not.
  22. I know most of the "armchair GMs" on this board would disagree but I want both of them back, as well. I'd also love to have either Miller or Boss but I just can't see the Bills pulling the trigger. I'd love for them to prove me wrong.
  23. Just like those of every other reporter and columnist covering the NFL right now. Man, do we need this lockout to end. Uh...he is retired. For several years now. He just contributes the occasional Sunday column for The News.
