  1. Quincy Enunwa torched the Bills corners in the first half. He was a rookie last year, didn't play in the first Bills game and was targeted only once in the second game. The Jets also self destructed more in the two games last season. In the off season Fitz and Chan learned a trick or two about how to play against the Bills- namely that the receivers do not need to run fancy routes to get separation- all they have to do is run the route, throw it high towards the receivers back shoulder and whether single covered, double coverage- whatever- they caught the ball at will as if the Bills corners were ghosts. This physical limitations of our corners were exposed for the entire league to see on National TV. The Bills had zero answer for their pass attack. It could become quite a blood bath from here on out, very scary stuff. Bottom line- the Bills corners are the wrong guys for the job- which is a dreadful understatement. The guy who hired them has failed.
  2. quincy enunwa played only in the second game last year and was targeted only once. he shredded the bills corners in this game. it also seems like more chemistry has developed between fitz, marshall, decker and jailin. they have learned how to exploit the bills short corners and unfortunately provided an easy to follow blue print for other teams. i agree about gronk but i don't believe the bills have ever considered drafting anyone specifically to stop him. they should have.
  3. How would you stop the Jets receivers? The physical miss-match is the key. It was happening last season as well against teams with bigger tight ends and receivers. Whaley has failed to address the match-ups in our division. It really is as simple as that. There is a good chance the team would replace Whaley with someone worse, agreed, and this is a huge risk. I do not want any more back slides either. But it could also work the other way too. I do believe that the current physical miss-matches are so blatantly obvious that Whaley and the Bills scouting staff could target larger corners in the next draft but it is almost too late to keep this ship from taking on more water- in the form of more losses and an early end to the season. I hope not. they tried. somehow fitz was able to launch a 20 yard pass as soon as he took the snap in the shotgun. when the receivers are covered and can still catch the ball (easily) by towering over the corners, there is no need for a QB to wait to throw the ball. blitzing is not effective. the corners are too short and it was painful to watch.
  4. The offense has competitive talent, no doubt. But the defense is not. The best coaching minds in history could not fix the defenses physical size miss-matches. It was ridiculous watching the Jets receivers catch the ball at will, even when they were double covered. How would you suggest that defensive coaching could have done anything different against the Jets in that game?
  5. they still got beat convincingly by teams that utilize big tight ends and receivers- the Patriots, The Redskins, the Giants, the Bengals. last season they were competitive, so he failed to field a playoff roster. this season they are not competitive.
  6. not going to do much to stop the jets receivers or gronkowski with their 8" height advantage.
  7. With all due respect, Vince Lombardi could not coach the Bills defensive roster to cover the Jets receivers. It was the most ridiculously lop sided personnel matchup I have ever seen.
  8. Last night was the nail in the coffin for Doug Whaley IMHO. He has failed to man a roster that is competitive within our division. The most blatant example is our relatively short corners trying to defend against the Jets towering receivers. Same issue with the Patriots that feature a fast tall tight end. Same with the Dolphins. An 8" height advantage for a receiver or TE is simply ridiculous. Most QBs in the league could complete passes to the Jets receivers vs. the Bills corners. Coaching did all they could to defense against the Jets offense - employing (7) DBs at one point. The accountability for the Bills performance lies with the GM.
  9. It's a long season and most teams are somewhat equal. It seems like the Bill's play will improve because the starters are shaking off the rust from limited preseason play and others will return to action from suspensions and injuries as the season moves on.
  10. for anyone at the game or tailgating, is the SWAT team baring arms?
  11. It is GRs issue (not the radio station) and yes we wanted him here and still do. Deep throws have their place but old school aerial shootouts are not the way to play the game any longer.
  12. I was absolutely blown away by how Hogan played last night. He was faster, quicker and almost hyper speed. He played like he underwent bionic surgery in the offseason! The OP of this thread had some insight and is right on the money!
  13. Reducing penalties from a league high of 143 down to 110 or so, slightly better than the average team. They might have made it in last season had they been flagged for only 110 penalties.
  14. Chicago Cubs win the world series- end to all sports curses, especially for teams that have blue and red uniforms!
  15. understood. i just thought it a little misguided and that what he is protesting does not represent most people's beliefs or behavior. i don't see the "country" as a collective nation oppressing african americans as a systemic behavior. but you are right, it is not my place to judge his feelings and i am sorry. i respect his right to express his beliefs and opinions.
  16. OK how about Mexico, Colombia (basically all of South America), China, Russia, Eastern Europe and the entire continent of Africa.
  17. Nothing wrong with showing respect for the country that allowed everyone to assemble in freedom and relative safety. After all, where do americans assemble in such masses? I agree about canning the jet flyovers though.
  18. he has the right to act as he chooses, that is what is great about our country (ironically). he also has the right to be booed by his fans (if they choose) or to be criticized by people who think his stance is misguided. maybe a tour of syria might give him some perspective.
  19. you can listen tonight on wgr .com also you can get the NFL game pass for 99 bucks and hear all the games on internet radio.
  20. absolutely. adolphus washngton has been playing great, as has jerel worthy, corbin bryant and kevon seymor. i can't imagine how good they will be when all of the starters and draft picks are ready to play.
  21. After (2) games they are statistically much better (per game) than they were last preseason in yards against, first downs against and touchdowns against.
  22. What are the rules for a catch on a pitch out or lateral? Basically don't fumble it. In fact if you don't "catch" it, it becomes a fumble. Why can't a forward pass catch be the same?
  23. The play yesterday ruled against Greg Little was actually a worse call than the famous Calvin Johnson "no catch" that was reversed. The Johnson ruling started a huge controversy and as someone mentioned earlier, the NFL reviewed this recently and still does not have it right. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/09000d5d81a77070/Controversial-call-on-Megatron-non-TD What blows my mind is the fact that if the throw to Little were a lateral or pitch-out run play (from where they were on the field) it would have been ruled a three yard gain because the ground cannot cause a fumble. The NFL needs some help defining and enforcing the rule logically. Little caught the ball and ran for at least two or three steps. At that point he hit the ground and the ball came loose. By the NFL's logic, as long as the defender had his hand on the ball, they could have ran upfield 20 yards like that and it still wouldn't have been a catch if it popped out when he hit the ground. Confusing to say the least.
  24. Friday Night Lights (movie and series).
  25. *very thankful that the Bills have a corporate sponsor in Buffalo that sponsored the name of the stadium *thankful that the product has to do with sports, football and the Bills. after all, it could have been worse- Welcome to Healthcare of Canada Cialis Oral Jelly Field!
