Steve Johnson's interesting tweet.
transient replied to FireChan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah... well I think you're a dumb... thing... to... say...??? I mean, I think you're a... stupid... comment...??? Oh, hell, do us the courtesy of wearing your asterisk when you post here, Pats*FanNH, and try to be a little less civil so that I don't feel like such an !@#$ about cheering for your demise (not yours personally, of course). Carry on. -
Steve Johnson's interesting tweet.
transient replied to FireChan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry, poorly worded. I didn't actually mean for that to be "you" in the directive sense, more of a general sense of if someone is reading his tweet and got offended "you". Your post wasn't yet posted when I started mine. Regarding inviting scrutiny, you say that as though you think he is unaware of the repercussions of his actions. I get the sense that he does think before he goes through with these antics, and forges ahead anyway. I think he does it fully aware of the potential backlash, knowing that most will take it for what it is, and some will make more of it than they should. I think he does these things for the sole purpose of messing with the people who overreact to things. "Why so serious?" Doesn't make him any less immature, may even make him less mature than your take on him... -

IMO, anything other than a reaction to this tweet that falls somewhere on the spectrum between mildy amused and mildly annoyed is an indication that you are exactly the person who's feathers Stevie was trying to ruffle when he hit send. How much more blatant does he need to be? He even qualified the statement before sending it. It would be different if he was an American diplomat. He's a football player. If anything, we should be impressed by the fact that he has a working knowledge of current events. -

Love the fact that Walter Football has Jamarcus Russell listed as QB/OT at the bottom of the page. -
Is Kolb Nix's Bridge to the 2014 QB Draft Class?
transient replied to Wing Man's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think, indirectly, Kolb may be a bridge to the 2014 draft class. What I see unfolding is Kolb penciled in as opening day starter pending a 3-way QB battle between him, TJax and a second round rookie to be named. If the rookie surprises, then he starts the season. If not, unless Kolb or TJax lights it up, I expect that the goal will be to give the rookie a chance, after some sideline learning, to unseat the starter. If that time never comes because the rookie just isn't showing it, then I see the Bills going QB early in 2014, unless the rookie happened to be the #8 pick this year. If they go QB at #8 this year, they'd have to swallow pretty hard before committing to go QB first round again next year, IMO. -

Not to mention his arena league pedigree before joining the NFL. -

Don't get me wrong, I don't think Kolb is the long term solution for the Bills at QB, but focusing on his sack rate last year compared to the other QBs for Arizona conveniently ignores the fact that the Cards were 4-1 with Kolb as the starter and 1-11 with the other less sacked QBs. The argument could just as easily be made that those other chickens should have manned up and stood in the pocket a little longer behind that putrid OL for the sake of a few more completions. -

Not to mention, drafting an elite LT and shuffling the line with the intention of feeding the ball to CJ would probably give a late first or early second round QB a better chance of succeeding if we do take that route. -

So we should draft crap and avoid improving the team this year so we suck again and then draft our QB next year? The fewer holes, the more justifiable burning picks to move up in the draft next year becomes if there is truly a QB worth moving up for. -

Interesting thought. I wonder if the Bills will have more luck in free agency targeting a wide receiver with a more viable QB option on the roster than TJax, Corp and a yet to be drafted rookie. -

IIRC, he and Vick kind of got the crap kicked out of them behind Philly's OL a lot, too. -

Actually, at the risk of having the naysayers rev up their flamethrowers, this is continuing to validate the sense that things are changing, IMO. I'm not saying that Kolb will be the answer, but he has a better chance than Fitz, and comes cheaper. They are not beholden to him, so will likely take a QB early in the draft, but not feel compelled to "overspend" at #8 for one who doesn't justify the pick. QB has been an issue, and they're finally addressing it, starting with the stance they took with Fitz to either restructure and fight for the job, or they'd cut him. As for that #8 pick, signing Kolb gives them the option to go BPA or see if they can't trade back and increase the spoils. Also, they've cut some dead wood from the roster, something they've been loathe to do in the past. They hired a coach that at least more than one team was interested in and has even been touted as a hot commodity, one with a background in offense, who then brought in an aggressive defensive coordinator who has been associated with some pretty good defenses in the last five years, and who wants to prove he wasn't Rex Ryan's puppet. While some will point to not signing Levitre as the same old same old, given the money he got, I would have been more upset if we retained him given the position he plays. They signed a decent LB for reasonable money. They even made a pitch to bring in a TE with some big-time skill (if he recovers from the achilles, of course). It feels like there is a plan in place, and they are trying to see it through, finally. While breaking that playoff-less streak is not likely this coming season, I don't think it will be as lousy as last season. We may actually be witnessing this team finding a direction for the first time since the late '90s. -

I think it speaks to the fact the Bills don't want to draft a QB at #8, and were concerned that if they didn't they might not end up with a starting calibre QB on the roster come the season opener. -
Dufnering. Who does it better than Dufner?

As opposed to the umpteen Kolb threads, or the umpteen million "this is the QB I would draft" threads? Aside from not being located with the other OT threads, it's kinda funny. -
Not what I would have pictured when I thought "vaginal bicep," but ok, it works. Brady still holds the title of Worlds Whiniest Vagina and Worlds Biggest kitty so I'm sure he barely even let out an audible queef over the loss of this title.

Growing up in a different era? Really? That's the defense you're going to use? I suppose you find equal rights for blacks and women disgusting as well, you know, being from a different era and all. Sorry the world is finally reaching a level of tolerance and open-mindness that you yourself are not comfortable with. Maybe we should teach our kids how to bully and beat people for being different instead of "brain-washing" them with all of this tolerance and human rights bull ****. My grandfather would have been ninety if he were still alive. His son was gay and he couldn't have been prouder of him, accepted him more, or loved him more if he tried. Get over blaming your closed mindedness on your era, or at the very least stop thinking that everyone your age views the world through your blinded eyes.

What is the best flavor of wing to eat durring a Bills game?
transient replied to dayman's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Franks = Aged Cayenne Red Peppers, Distilled Vinegar, Water, Salt, Natural Flavor and Garlic Powder Sooo, you're saying Frank's, butter... chili powder, parmesan and worchestire IMO, most important is getting the outside crispy without drying out the inside. Also, a pinch of Dave's Insanity never hurt... okay, it never hurts too much -
