It's probably because the alignment for the kicking team is now different between a standard KO and an onsides KO. For a standard KO the coverage team is now 25 yards in front of the kicker, and if the kick doesn't reach the "landing zone" it might as well have been kicked out of bounds, 'cuz the receiving team get's it at the 40, which is presumably where they'd be trying to land it for an onsides kick if they tried one in the standard KO alignment as a surprise. They've basically made an onsides kick untenable. Either they have to modify it to make it work, or do away with it.

Having to declare it before a trailing team uses it relegates it to nothing more than a desperation play, like a Hail Mary. They need to find a way of making it useable again without restriction, or eliminate it altogether. It used to be part of the game strategy, now it's a perfunctory thing to do in a 1 score game before the trailing team ultimately loses.

The only person who would have given a #### enough to watch is Mel Kiper. Browns fans don't even like their team anymore.

🤔… I might assign more of the credit for that record to the Texans OL. If memory serves, they were absolutely awful and that poor bastard was a sitting duck from day 1. It was surprising that he actually survived his time in Houston. He probably has PTSD.

Moore in NOLA is in his first (grace) year and they need to purge the roster of bad contracts, not add them. If he was smart, he got some assurances that he’ll need to get that house in order.

Technically, Archie is from Mississippi, but he stayed in NOLA after his career ended. The family still lives there. Arch was the QB for Newman, same high school Peyton, Eli, and OBJ went to. I’m sure the Saints would love to get him, and the city would lose its #### if they did, cuz they love their own and the family is basically local royalty… but you have to wonder if that’s what Arch and the family wants. If not, while I’m sure they would handle it a bit more delicately than Archie did with Eli and the Giants given their local roots, it won’t happen.
