  1. If Troup is healthy, can't see Heard making the team. He isn't the athlete that Troup is and Heard struggles changing directions once starts going a way. Troup is more suited to the new defense if can stay healthy in my opinion. Even if Troup isnt healthy, wouldnt shock me if someone beats out Heard, with the change of play style they are putting in honestly. Do agree you on rest of your statement however.
  2. Not really that bold considering most Draft guru's have Saunders as the only Tackle we drafted grading out as a true LT prospect, and fact he has a ton of potential. Personal like the Saunders pick as the best value pick we made in draft, and while he may not reach his potential, it is not that much of a stretch to see him being our starting LT in 3 years approximately. As far as Tank, it isn't unreasonable to see him getting good amount of reps in the defense as year goes on. Think he will be allot better in pass defense than Shepp and may get more and more reps as year goes on against teams that pass more than run.
  3. So by fully recover we're talking only one of them fully recovered? Genuine question, my impression was 17 sacks in 12 games version of merriman. Fully recovered as far as what consider reasonable for type of surgery had is what my impression of it is. He should be able to be fully healthy and have full motion back, but likely will not have his old first step. Would be pretty impressive to get 17 sacks in about 15 snaps a game that he will likely get if Bills defense plays well. If he is getting a ton of snaps, either Bills are blowing people out or defense is not getting people off the field.
  4. Voted Easley cause Merriman is a 3-4 olb playing out of position as a de. While he could give us a spark and a few good plays, only see him getting around 15 snaps a game, while Easley has chance to see allot more. No guarantee that he is going to do well if he does stay healthy, but believe he is good at getting open, and other than Stevie we really don't have anyone that can get open on their own consistently on roster I don't believe. Like billsrcursed said earlier, its more about need than past performances that makes me pick Easley. Personally think Easley is more likely to stay healthy and contribute as well. Everything I've seen says takes 2 years for players that rely on speed to recover back to form from the Achilles surgery he just had this offseason, so think looking more to next season for him to be himself again if was successful this time. If Merriman being healthy would be in his prime, not what think is going to be somewhat limited version of what he can be, then may have voted differently.
  5. Think the reason allot like Easley, including me, is he gets open often when gets his chances in practice and in preseason. Tough to judge how well that translates to the regular season till he actually gets a chance to compete there however. I personally don't think he wins the 2nd wr spot out of training camp, due to being away from the game for so many years, and not having ton of exp before missing all that time. I do see him seeing the field allot however, and would not be surprised at all if he was 2nd on team in receptions by end of year because of his apparent ability to get open. Fitz has seemed to click with him in practice as well, which bodes well for getting his chances if can stay healthy this year.
  6. I voted Wood. Believe is our best player on line, and center calls all the line calls. Think our line needs to stay healthy this year, especially Wood's if our offense is going to stay consistent throughout the year. Course someone capably filling the LT spot is just as important, whoever wins that position. Although I wouldn't like to see any of them hurt, they are all good players.
  7. You forgot the 3rd type, ones that are tired of waiting for them to make playoffs, and want the team to be good in more than one position.
  8. Cant see it being more than a simple phone call. We call them they laugh and say no way.
  9. I was working a mall job at time, catching updates from guy working a kiosk outside of store when noone was in store.
  10. Dont have to be bright to be positive spot, sometimes helps when your teams is 0 for century to this point in playoff appearances.
  11. Well 3 years on the offensive system. Will be first year for the new defensive system they are putting in.
  12. I would add Fred Jackson to the exception list as well.
  13. Personally think depends what type of defense you play and what ask them to do. Clairborne is better man coverage and Gilmore is better in zone IMO.
  14. You do realize that about 80 percent of the snap and training the non starters get is in the preseason rigth. Once the season starts other than the bye week, the time during the week is spent getting the playbook installed for that weeks game. Most of the actual traiing for developing players actually happens in training camp. While understand you point that until he makes it through a full season, you dont want to depend on him completely, to dismiss him because of 1 injury and a condition that he has been medically cleared from isnt something I would do either. Personally feel like he is favorite to win the position, but they have a few castoffs from other teams that were fairly high picks besides drafting a WR they have confidence in as well, so dont think they are without options. Main concern to me, is how long will it take for the O-Line to gel with the new faces. If the line give Fitz time, the recievers will be allowed to run deeper and have more time to run larger portion of passing tree, which should make them all look better.
  15. Have to say he is an amazing talent, and may be best corner when just look at talent in this years draft, I would have been extremely shocked if bills drafted him. With what they are trying to build in locker room, they have to look at character as well as talent, and I'm sure they did their due diligence on his background and didnt feel he was worth taking that high compared to others they where looking at. While I think he will be a great pro, there is a chance that he is a bust due to off field issues as well.
  16. I do positively know atleast one other team where interested in him, and was on thier list of players to take around the 5th round if he was still there. Who really knows what every teams board looks like, may have been another them that had him higher as well and thats why Bills moved up to make sure they got him.
  17. Ive lived in 6 different cities and seen allot between military and consulting work. I can say I love Buffalo, and if not for the economy in the area would still be living there. Sure it snows allot, but people are awesome there. Well he has great skill set for guard, so is true that would probably be great guard. He may turn out to be a better guard ultimately, but dont see him not playing RT for us cause is much bigger need than RG IMO, and he is well suited for that position as well. While would have prefered a LT, he is a much safer pick and may turn out to be better player than any of the LT's that were on the board, so no complaints.
  18. Beleive he has allot to learn to be a starting outside receiver. He could turn out to be a steve smith type just going up and getting anything near him, but i dont see it, and havent heard anything on him that make me think he is polished route runner at all. The scout that i know said they likes him as a development reciever, but would probably take 2-3 years to learn to run routes and become the reciever he could be, but that that once does, could be very special reciever. Catches with hands well and is very quick out of breaks. That is why i think is a slot reciever at first, cause is quick and would be great with slants and slot type routes till get tree down solid, if what he told me is accurate.
  19. Looks like a descent chance to be great slot reciever, but who is our #2 receiver still?
  20. No joke on Jenkins and Dnnard. Jenkins may be best player period outside the QB position if go talent alone, but he may be another Maurice Clarett as well.
  21. If he turns out to be ed reed would be estactic, but too me looks more like Cody Grimm. Think he is very limited in what he can bring outside of run game, and think will be an annual IR candidate cause of his playing style. Also have a felling Wilson doesnt make the team if we draft Barron. Think they like DaNorris Searcy too much to let him go, since they are trying to get younger, plus dont see Scott not being the third safety if they put 3 out there. Wont argue with his smarts, but feel Keuchy is better in that department honestly, and would rather have defense run by a LB. Also not a fan of Safetys leading team in tackles most games, and thats what we already have, usually means teams are averaging over 4 yards a carry easy when Safety's are making most of the tackles.
  22. Guilty of that too, just the thought of them picking Barron gets my blood boiling. Making a run to Dicks Sporting good to get me a heavy bag just in case, dont want to break anything expensive.
  23. Would be waiting till tomorrow then, atleast cuts a day off wait
