  1. Atleast the Jets didnt find out we are running 4-3 defense this year yet.
  2. I personally was hoping they would have picked up one of the veteran WR's or players they liked scouting other teams that didn't make them. There where several WR's that have pretty good history, that may be on downside that was hoping they would sign to come in and help develop some of our younger receivers. Yes they signed more for special team than anything else, and a mistake on special teams can change a game real quick, still would have been nice to see them sign another teams player.
  3. Personally i say they have to hold him and any other holdouts to the fines, or will see more and more people holdout. Are there players out there making more, yes, but he put his time into holding out knowing there would be fines.
  4. Only time helmets come off that I have seen is when the players dont snap the chin strap. Maybee they will actaully start wearing thier safety gear properly with this rule. The ripping off the helmet on purpose thing probably should be addressed if becomes more common however.
  5. He fills a huge need for Panthers, He fell into a good situation.
  6. I'm just surprised he opted to stay with Bills practice squad, but glad he did.
  7. They get a chance to make an offer, but if player wants to go to another teams practice squad, ultimately its their choice.
  8. Leave it to the writer to police the writing, wait you are a writer, never mind.
  9. Yeah but there is almost no chance that Easley is on the bills practice squad if he is cut. I know he is on the radar of more than one team, and they will likely either try sign him to thier practice squad, or just sign him outright if he is release by Bills. Think he would rather go to a new team where he knows will have fresh shot than stay with a team that cut him honestly. My guess is he would be on Panthers PS if Bills do not keep him.
  10. IT has been shown that he does have eligability because he have never been on a regular season roster, having been put on IR before each season began. That is because NFL defines an accrued season is six or more games on the active roster, for purpose of practice squad. It shows that definition on this wiki page. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scout_team
  11. I would be surprised if noone picks Easley up honestly. He looked good when offense was simpler, and in OTA's, but when they put in the full offense he started to struggle with making same reads a QB. Think he need more reps, and has more potential than the others on bubble. Would not be surprised if he doesnt make team, but would be surprised if he there to be put on practice squad if doesnt make it.
  12. With the Whole no game plan, run base pro set offense and defense every down that most teams run in preseason, unless your team runs those sets by default, really doesn't show how you team can run the packages they are actually installing for real games. Unless you have a coach that is trying to win preseason games, and is willing to use their real offensive plays, most teams looks nothing like their going to look on offense or defense once the season starts. That is probably why see people that looked so good in preseason games cut so often, or not pan out once regular season starts as well. That being said, if both teams play vanilla, allows for one on one matchups and better evaluation sometimes of individual players, as they cant be hidden by the system as easy, as long as both teams stay vanilla. So losing badly does help show talent level of individuals, just doesn't allow for practiced executions or plays to necessarily show through, or teams to take advantages of their strengths or other teams weaknesses by game planning. Basically saying its good for player evaluation, bad for team evaluation, so tough to judge how a team is going to do by how they do in preseason.
  13. A marginal receiver, 2 mainly backup qb's and a kicker on your compare list? You really only one listed that would consider and that would be Paup, but he was more of a packer than a bill. Must have been just listing marginal players cause you don't think he was a very good player. I think he was important enough of a player to be considered, but if remember right he never really maintained a very good relationship with bills management after he left the team, so that wouldn't help his cause much.
  14. Probably be easier to watch in person than at home with bad refs. Wouldnt get to see the replays and hear commentary highlighting the messups, like watching from home provides for frustration factor.
  15. And im sure you would call them out on it in a forum that thier potential bosses could hear when they are looking for work as well Or would you say nice things, even if only partially ment it in order to try and help them get work.
  16. Only CB could see playing safety for us is Aaron Williams honestly. Think is only one that has skills that translate well to safety, and pretty sure he will be a starting CB this year. McGee is more of a slot CB if not starting than Safety skills wise. My point really wasn't that against bringing him in, but that would like to see a younger player that they can develop step up than sign and older player on downside of career for 4th safety spot. But either they don't apparently have one they think can develop or they have some reason to be concerned about health of our current starters.
  17. If they are ignore 80 percent of potential viewers teams because they want to hit on the same things that espn and every other network news channel is hitting on, think they are missing the boat. The whole reason allot of people thought they wanted to get NFL network added to their cable package is to get info on all the teams, not just what's hot at moment. Think they are really missing the point of having an NFL Network and that is why their ratings are going so low. Personally I watched NFL Network a ton first year had it, by 2nd year was only watching it occasionally, and by 3rd year stopped watching it all together as they have added nothing that can't get anywhere else IMO, but with worse announcers.
  18. My concern with Leonhard would be with his speed after the injury. He already was marginal, if injury/age has caused him to lose a step, he will be a liability when on the field. Personally would rather see a younger player win the job, but if they don't have any younger players that they think can, bringing him in wouldn't be bad idea.
  19. Pretty sure Tebow and the Bronco's proved that Wildcat offense can work by running it almost exclusively and making the playoffs.
  20. Actually could argue it both ways because there are not allot of great 2 way LB's, and if can get one, makes you base defense allot stronger. Especially with teams like NE starting to use multiple TE's and doing things to force you to commit to either stopping run or pass with defensive personnel. Having LB's that are good against the run and pass makes a huge difference in how you can play a team like that.
  21. I was one of the ones super high on him for this team. Not sure how he will do in Carolina this year, as is type that needs protection from DT's in front of him to play his best, and Carolina's interior line isnt great or deep at all. Draft is done however, and we have who we are going to get, and early indications are looking very good.
  22. While I do think he is a top 25 receiver, and was the number one for Pittsburg, I would not think this would be something Bills would even consider. Would take a minimum of a number 1 pick, and likely in the 80 mil range for contract, with large guarantee. He is mainly a deep threat, and Bills don't have a style of offense that does allot of 7 step drops or lets allot of passing plays have time to develop. While he would be great fill for the position, he likely would see his numbers drop significantly and probably wouldnt give great return on investment because of that.
  23. Well Panthers have more pieces in place than the bills did at that time. Although not sure with the DT's they have they can stop anyone in the ground game. The other thing different is that Buffalo has ton of very loyal fans, while Charlotte is more of a college sports following city. Panthers almost need to make outrageous statements to even get talked about locally.
  24. I think he has been a bit of a distraction on the teams he has been on, and there have been a few article out about the Bills purging players like him recently to get a more cohesive locker room. While I do think he has a ton of talent, if he can stay healthy, I would prefer they pass on him.
