Outside the box. Cut a kicker, go for 2 as much as possible
CodeMonkey replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I cannot imagine that is a factor. Even on an extra point the big boys in the trenches and pounding on each other pretty good. -
Edit: now confirmed rumor that Bills will release Cassel
CodeMonkey replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I suspect he means veterans that actually saw the field regularly in their careers, you know, experienced. -

What player safety factor? -

47.5% which makes it basically a wash with the extra point at the new distance. Not a coincidence I suspect. IMO that's the reason they picked the distance that they did for the extra point. -
What does the preseason mean?

Assuming the Boston Globe is correct and the 2 point conversion rate has been 47.5% and the 33 yd FG rate has been 93%, that would create an expected point total of .930 points per attempt for the extra point from that distance, and .950 points per attempt for the 2 point conversion. So it slightly favors the 2 point conversion but not enough to cut your kicker, who you would need anyway for actual 3 point field goals. -

Turned pro at age 15, six years ago, and has a world ranking so low she still needs to qualify. Last years ranking was 775 and this year so far 260. Her best ranking was in 2012 and that was 147. I'm sure that both she and her parents are very happy that she not only made it through qualifying, but actually won a main draw match in not only a major, but a grand slam event. But "real up and comer in American Women's tennis" is a bigger reach than Matt Simms being a real up and comer in the NFL

QB Tyrod Taylor to start Week 1
CodeMonkey replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Coordinated for sure. Rex didn't want his truck keyed and tires slashed. -
Bouncy house etc. little kids stuff up by the stadium. Tends to be the same stuff that have at training camp at SJF. Lots of cool stuff for the kids in the field house. $1 (at least they were) hot dogs in the stadium, but be prepared to wait in line (smarter to eat before going in). Major alcoholics tend to stay home or behave so should be no worries there. Fireworks after the game so stay in the stadium. The Bills do kids day VERY VERY well, so enjoy! Oh almost forgot, the nice people at the pinto tailgate (and everyone else really) in the hammer lot go out of their way to make all kids feel welcome!

EJ Will Start Pittsburgh Game
CodeMonkey replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Honestly at this point the only shocking opening day starter for me would be Simms. Though based on what I have seen, Manuel would be a mild surprise. -
My Favorite not so little Bills Fan is leaving....

After he first arrives until he gets comfortable with the living situation and school processes, keep his mouth shut and his eyes and ears open and he should learn a lot. I think some of that is the difference between sons and daughters as well. -

That makes as much sense as anything as a reason to play 3 QBs in the dress rehearsal game. Gotta love ole Rex, he definitely marches to the beat of his own drummer. -

A reasonable take in my opinion. -

Rex said yesterday that all 3 would play. Given his personality he probably put Manuel out there first just to !@#$ with the media -
For me, I will hold off anything until I see the dress rehearsal game Saturday.Should have a much better idea of what this team really is after that. But remember also, the +3 is the gambling line, which exists to get a portion of the betting public to bet the way that balances out the betting. And in this case they must feel the betting public (as a whole, not just in Buffalo NY) aren't Billievers and need a little push to bet on the Bills.

Why EJ Manuel should start in Week 1
CodeMonkey replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Manuel is 3 inches taller which gives him the advantage in the pocket in any situation. And I would also agree that Manuel has the stronger arm. His problem this season is, and always has been so far, accuracy. Doesn't matter how fast it gets there if it is 6 feet over the receivers head or in the turf. But, Roman and Ryan will make the call and they have far more information and experience than you and I combined. Based on camp and the preseason games, I'd be shocked if Manuel started game one. But the Bills have surprised me before -
Why EJ Manuel should start in Week 1
CodeMonkey replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are some, perhaps many, that think Taylor has a better skillset and toolbox than Manuel. And can make the same case as you have to start him. It's a matter of opinion at this point. The only ones that matter are Ryans and Romans. -
It's gotta be Roman who makes the QB call, right?
CodeMonkey replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So you have an OC that is not a placeholder, and as an HC you are going to forcefeed the OC against his will not only a player in his offense, but the single most important player? Does that make sense at all? Personally I think they should go to the big tree and hash it out over a beer. But push comes to shove and they cannot agree, you have to go with the QB that the OC feels works best in his system. It is HIS system after all, not Ryans. -

CodeMonkey replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I could not possibly disagree more. First, Ryan is a defensive coach. Second, It is Romans system. If Rex has a big enough head to overrule his OC (which he might) it is a big mistake in my opinion.
