'Reasonable' is subjective. Here are the top 10 average ticket prices in the NFL (2013-2014), not even including the crazy business of paying for a license to be able to buy the tickets. None of these seem reasonable to me to watch 1 football game. 10. Dallas $209 9. Baltimore $220 8. Seattle $220 7. Pittsburgh $221 6. New Orleans $225 5. Denver $227 4. Green Bay $245 3. New England $277 2. Chicago $282 1. New York Giants $292 I can't imagine anyone thinks $292 as an average price to watch one game is reasonable, but this guy trying to get paid big by the NFL, whose history of milking any and every revenue stream for every penny possible is the stuff of legends, for his rare recording is unreasonable. http://www.therichest.com/sports/football-sports/top-10-most-expensive-tickets-in-the-nfl/?view=all

This superbowl sucked? Really? Wow! Silly me!
CodeMonkey replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The casual fan is going to be bored by that game. They want offense which they can get excited about. Three plays, even three well done defensive plays, and a punt not so much. It was on TV where I was, but I honestly didn't pay much attention. I am happy though that Manning can now go out on top. More and more people seem to be just casual fans of football anymore. -
Spring football on it's way apparently

Does the NFL have a financial stake in it? If not, would they try and kill it or treat it as a development league? -

Antwaan Randle El Regrets Playing Football
CodeMonkey replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My thought is to make the game as safe as possible would require getting rid of the helmet and all pads, except for the cup. But it wouldn't be anywhere near the same game, or nearly as popular, if the players weren't using their bodies as weapons at full speed. -
Wait .... what .... how ... where ... I may have to rethink everything I thought I understood about men, women, god and the universe.

How long before Sexton drops Marrone as a client?

My take on it is more of a teen-aged girl who got stood up for the prom ... but yeah. Pretty amazing how much angst there still is about this guy with some Bills fans. -
Big Changes to Defense for 2016

Winner winner chicken dinner! -
Not only did he talk his way into a 27 mil contract, but a guaranteed 27 mil contract! He certainly got the best of who is supposed to be a good businessman on that one. But just because a person is rich, doesn't mean they are not a buffoon. Just look at Donald Trump.

Or just accept it for what it is, and move on.

16 consecutive seasons with no playoffs. Should be impossible with how the NFL is structured for parity. And a waiting list for season tickets. Hard to disagree with you.

What will get you excited for next season?
CodeMonkey replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Come on. It is nothing and you know it. Rex came in boasting about "we're going" then fails to even achieve the lofty record of his predecessor with a team that was more talented. This season was a huge failure on almost every level. No amount of excuse making changes that. It's not the end of the world, and TT showing he can play in this league was a very big plus. But please stop with the 8-8 is a good thing. -
He actually is doing this. He just doesn't buy what Rex is selling is all. That's what Rex is best at, talking around his failures and making ownership and the fan base forgive/ignore said failures for at least a few seasons.
-
Not in Buffalo. They are sold on the fans expectations of tailgating and the fact that the team is still in Buffalo,
-
Father/son is different than brothers. Fathers were trying to get their sons experience and a leg-up in the business.
-
Maybe Rex figured that he got his retirement fund from Pegula, so why not get his brother one from the same source. if they fail, it's almost certainly the end of the line for the both of them.

The Bills would of won today. :(
CodeMonkey replied to bisonbrigade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
8-8 so irrelevant. They sucked enough over the regular season to insure that they could not possibly win today. "Bills would have won today" is !@#$ing horseshit. -
2016 Season Ticket Renewals and Prices

Manther, I believe you far underestimate the "don't care how they do, I'm buying seasons so long as they are the Buffalo Bills" crowd. -
For Everyone Who Wanted Rex Fired...
CodeMonkey replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have never been a fan of the Rex hiring to say the least. But firing a HC after one season, and by proxy most if not all of the coaches under him, is insane. But the pool of coaches does have some potential talent. Petine for example. Plus some coordinators worth considering. Several, in my opinion, almost certainly better than Ryan. -
In the end, our expectations may have been too great.
CodeMonkey replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, if they were, they were set by Ryan and the Bills organization, so ... -
What will get you excited for next season?
CodeMonkey replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Everyone who is saying bring in Pettine as DC doesn't understand either man. Rex is far too much of an egomaniac to let someone else run the defense, and Pettine is not about to become a puppet with Rex's arm up his ass far enough to make him speak. Also, Rex keeping his mouth shut? Really? I can't think of a realistic offseason move that would get me excited for next season. If Rex can manage to keep his head out of his ass, and the team manages to get and stay healthy, the team should be better overall. But then again the schedule is harder next season. At this point I expect another mediocre season, and if the stars align right the Bills could back into the playoffs. But excited, hardly. -
An honest question for season ticket holders. ..

10 ... you are indeed the man. I salute you -
He has forgotten more about football than most "experienced football executives" will ever know. I have no idea if he wants to go that way or not, but the idea is nowhere near as ridiculous as you make it sound IMO. Fans tend to think that football is this incredibly complex thing, when in reality it is not. And the higher up you go, the simpler it becomes.
