The athletes are told beforehand when the reporters are coming in (at least that's how it was back in the day) and they are supposed to be "decent" when they come in. But some simply don't care and will walk back to their lockers sans towel if they feel like it. having reporters, particularly female ones, in the locker room is very weird at first. But like anything else you get used to it.

They were talking about this on TV this morning. The reporter herself did not raise this issue, has not, and will not file any charges. It was some association of women sports writers causing the stink. They had some uptight B word spokesperson for the organization mouthing off on that show. As an athlete you are taught how to handle the situation in general and female reporters in particular once you reach the college level. But these guys are not that bright and are raised in this "locker room mentality" so this kind of behavior, although wrong, is bound to happen. I do have to say though that I think reporters in the locker room are unnecessary. If a reporter absolutely needs a cliche sound-byte catch the player walking out to his/her car or wherever. I understand why it is allowed, it saves the reporter time not having to wait for the interview. And it saves the players the hassle of maybe having to hang out in a media room after a game (probably not a big deal for football for example with 1 game a week, but could be a big hassle for hockey players for example who are often catching a flight to another city immediately after a game).

DirectTV deal VS Dish Network deal
CodeMonkey replied to mikef292004's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The more HD depends on whose ad you are watching/reading. DirecTV claims 160 channels and says Dish has less than that. Dish claims over 200 HD channels compared to DirecTVs 160. I know Dish has been adding HD like crazy and recently put up another satellite recently that will be for more HD channels when it goes into service sometime later this year. In reality count doesn't matter as much as if they have the HD channels you want to watch. Which is largely personal preference. I have had both as well as cable now (unfortunately). I think the service is about the same, and varies largely by the quality of local installers. I think the price of dish is a little lower in general, but probably not by enough to make that the decision point. I am pretty sure dish has more HD channels and should soon have quite a few more. But again, what is important is the channels themselves and not so much the count. Also a consideration is the quality of the HD channels. They are not all created equal. Compression has a huge impact. Dish has been adding capacity via new satellites. I'm not sure if DirecTV has added satellites, or just compresses more as they add channels. I know that both providers can and do change compression not just channel to channel, but between programs on the same channel which can be very annoying. If the Sunday Ticket is important to you, then DirecTV is the only game in town. All the other sports packages are available on both providers. Bottom line, don't believe what you read. Talk to friends who have both and look at their systems and decide what is best for you. -
Gailey messes up by not starting Fred Jackson

Not to mention when RBs are swapped in frequently based on the situation, what !@#$ing difference does it make who is there for the first snap? -
What would have to happen between now and Sunday

Well I'd pick the Bills in this case to cover the spread I suppose -

I hope Spiller does get better (and I think he will) but Gaileys quote is BS. I suspect he is trying to take some of the pressure off of Spiller. It is hard for any back, particularly a small one like Spiller, to do anything if as soon as you get the ball someone is hitting you. Gailey needs to find a way to get the ball to Spiller with a little room to maneuver. How, I have no idea. Nothing Sunday, for the limited time Spiller was in, seemed to be working and the defenses are only getting tougher in the upcoming weeks. -
Switch to what? To Fitz would be a Jauron move (try not to lose too badly). To Brohm probably doesn't make sense because Gailey has him 3rd on the depth chart and had to fight it out with Levi for that even. Gailey can't think that much of his abilities. The time to switch, if Gailey/Nix was inclined to, was picking up someone in the off season. That ship has sailed now. Give Trent a true chance for at least half a season (though with this stacked schedule the first half is a killer) then maybe give Brohm a chance for the hell of it if Trent continues to unimpress. It's almost certainly going to be a tough season with a bad record. We need to deal with that.

My God some of you guys have low standards (I'm hoping it's not beer goggles this early in the day ). Of all the ones mentioned only 2 are attractive IMO: Erin Andrews Lindsay Soto Honorable mention: Jayne Kennedy. The rest, ::shudder::. But I guess that's one of the great things about women, almost all will be attractive to someone!

To be fair, I don't think this is of the Bills doing as much it is the NFL. -

I agree, I don't think there are any more or any less drunks at the games. They just seem to be getting more and more obnoxious every year. Maybe I'm just getting older as well. With the NFL sanitizing the environment so much, I wonder how long before obviously drunk people will be denied entrance to the game. -
I know the Bills offense looked bad...
CodeMonkey replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with your second sentence. But your first one doesn't make any sense. The Jets played probably the best D in the league, why would that make you feel better at all about the Bills performance? Or ponder this one for a minute, we have the Jets with their D in 3 weeks and the Ravens in 3 weeks (2 games) after that. With the Packers and the cheaters before that. Man, brutal. -
Pack a 14-pt favorite this weekend...

14 is just too much for me. Coaches like bellicheat may run up the score, but most won't. If GB is up by 10 late in the game they will just run out the clock. No bet this week ... except maybe the over/under -

The way the NFL is acting, and the drop in attendance league wide, I'm not sure it will take 5 years. -

I believe what the announcers said was that Miami did not call the first one. The officials stopped play for some reason. -
Brohm chant at the next home game?
CodeMonkey replied to Pirate Angel's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What is funny is people who seriously think a chant is going to influence who Chan starts at the most important position on the team. -
