What are you expecting tonight,Bills vs the Vikings?
CodeMonkey replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Starters only (I don't care about how the backups look at this point): I'm expecting the offense to look like they have met each other before and have played the game of football before, unlike the previous game. I'm expecting the defense to build on their decent showing last game and dominate a little more on the D line. -
Bills could challenge for Division

Would You Trade Any 3 Bills Players for Andrew Luck?
CodeMonkey replied to Boludo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Before this past FA and draft, absolutely without hesitation. Nix had such a good offseason and the defense now looks sound so i would not take that trade now. -

The D&C has an online only subscription as well that is cheaper than the tree killing offering (except Sunday deliver only for some reason). http://www.democrata...RIPTION-OPTIONS In my opinion this is the future of all publications as tablets become more and more pervasive. -
First preseason game (some good things)
CodeMonkey replied to Wagon Circler's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With the improved defense and [hopefully] not being behind so often maybe Fitz won't feel the need to force it as often. But my opinion is yes he will as long as the Bills are frequently in the pass happy 5-wide set. -
Or 1013 for the non-HD challenged

Would You Trade Any 3 Bills Players for Andrew Luck?
CodeMonkey replied to Boludo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not for any three of their choosing, but those 3 yes. And in a heartbeat. -
For me I like to see the starters look decent against the other teams starters. Before this last game I expected the D to look out of sync because of all the new players and the semi-new DC. But overall I was impressed with how they did as a unit. The O was perplexing though. Same OC, same QB, same major players and they looked like they had never even practiced together much less played all of last season together. Basically I saw the reverse of what I was expecting. First preseason game so Gailey has a few weeks still to right the ship. The third preseason game when we see the starters longer will give us a much better idea of where they are.

Training Camp Observations, Mon 8-13
CodeMonkey replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's always how it should be in my opinion. At camp they are running drills or half speed scrimmages. How they look doing that has little bearing on how they will look in a live game. -
Pleasantly Surprised on NFL Ticket Exchange
CodeMonkey replied to Lv-Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just looked for steeler game and prices are considerably higher than on ebay, plus the service fee. Even on ebay people are asking, and generally getting, 20+ each for lower bowl. Previous years I'd get them for $5-$6 each. Note to Brandon ... NO MORE !@#$ING STEELER KIDS DAY GAMES! -
Might be worth considering bring him back for a 1 year deal if the price is right. If Gailey is going to be using his 5-wide thing again you can't have too many WRs.

I had seasons for a couple years but not any more. My family and I go to the kids day preseason game every year (a-holes made it the steeler game this year so tix are way more expensive) but all the others I watch at home. Much better environment for us all, particularly for the kids. I enjoy watching the game with them, plus in my opinion the game day experience is not worth anywhere near the amount it costs (particularly for a family). Also to be honest, I prefer to watch from home. It's far more comfortable, much less traffic, no lines to pee, I can drink as much beer as I want, and the view of the game is much better I do miss the tailgating, but that's the only thing I miss from not being at the Ralph.

Question about Bills practice today(Mon 8/13)
CodeMonkey replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure there is any way to know that until they come out to the field. Gailey was very unhappy with their performance Thursday night so if he has a choice I suspect they will be in pads. Plus they were in pads and all on the main practice field yesterday (Sunday). -
Stevie asserting himself as a team leader...
CodeMonkey replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This team has been nothing but talk for the past 12 seasons. Talking like a winner is bull ****. It's time to shut the !@#$ up and play like a winner. -
Meaningless thoughts on a meaningless scrimmage
CodeMonkey replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pick up the blitz. The one play I watched him specifically when they kept him in he whiffed horribly just like previous years. They could play him wide in Gaileys constant 5-wide scheme but they won't be able to play him at RB if he cannot pick up a blitzer. -
I agree with Gailey's accessment ... "It looked ugly. It felt ugly. It was ugly," I was disappointed to see the first string do everything 5-wide, and do it poorly. I was more disappointed to hear from Fitz during the sideline interview that we will be seeing that alot again this season. I thought the defense looked like an average D, which is a huge improvement over last year but less than I was hoping for. I was also hoping for a little more domination from the D line. But it was only preseason game one. The D wasn't horrible and the O has nowhere to go but up.

Anyone have a link or info on how to setup up an android tablet/phone to get an IP address out of the blacked out area? -
The entire D line. Merriman to see if he looks viable at all. Spiller to see if he has figured out how to run north yet and if he can not hit the ground on first contact. Preferably against the skins first string D. Fitz to see if Lee worked on his 3/4 delivery or just on his footwork. VY to see if he sucks as bad as everyone is saying.

Schumer To Announce Plan To Keep Bills In Buffalo

Schumer To Announce Plan To Keep Bills In Buffalo
CodeMonkey replied to uncle flap's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why would he? I wouldn't either if I owned the Bills. Let the government pick up the tab as they have in the past. I suspect this was more of a CYA presser for Chuckles. Think about it: 1) If the Bills stay in Buffalo with new ownership then Schumer can claim credit. 2) If the Bills leave the area Schumer can say he did everything in his power but the NFL was hell bent on !@#$ing small market Buffalo. Either way, Schumer doesn't lose any votes next time he is up for re-election. Pretty smart really. He may be a blowhard !@#$, but he is a politically astute blowhard !@#$. What Schumer is trying to do is cover his ass. He doesn't want to be the politician who lost the Bills. Do you really think the NFL is going to alter their G-4 policy simply as a "keep the Bills in Buffalo" measure? And do you think if they did, that Mr. Wilson would be forced to use it? The NFL made a [lame] attempt at relaxing the sellout rule this season. Did Mr. Wilson take advantage of it? Nope. Why? Because it would have cost him money. Follow the money and you will always end up in the right place when it comes to the NFL. -
