  1. Damn too bad you didn't post yesterday before I went and got the pair for spillertime. I won't be able to go again until Tuesday. If no one else can do it, send me a PM monday.
  2. Not in order Honeymooners MASH Big Bang Theory The Young Ones (I lived in England for a year. Short lived but very funny IMO) Seinfeld
  3. Yeah that describes every pizza I've had in Italy. Never been to Sicily though. It's not bad, just like you said, not what most Americans consider pizza to be. Plus when you add a nice espresso after it's all good All the makings for a great weekend.
  4. Spiller, in 16 games, had 107 running touches and had an average of 5.2 YPC. FredEx, in 10 games, had 170 running touches and had an average of 5.5 YPC. When Jackson was in the game, he was expected to run and defenses keyed on him. With Spiller in the game the emphasis was on passing, so defenses were not keying on him at all. Much easier to get a higher YPC under those circumstances. Spiller did look better as the season progressed, but he still tried to dart to the sideline at the first sign of resistance far too often. That is why my hope is that he will be able to be an effective weapon this season. He showed enough last season to give some hope of that. But by no means, in my opinion anyway, did he show that he for sure could be effective running the ball on a regular basis.
  5. I don't care what the percentages are. I just want Spiller to be improved enough and effective enough, finally, so that Gailey will let him touch the ball more than to just give FredEx a breather.
  6. Italy???? Most Americans wouldn't even recognize what you get there as being pizza. Pizza was born in Italy, but what we get here as pizza is an American invention.
  7. Won't happen while Mr. Wilson is the owner for 2 reasons: 1) The Bills have a low number of season ticket holders, Given the current Buffalo economy. a PSL would drive that number even lower. Probably considerably lower. 2) Everyone knows Mr. Wilson has not carried any debt on the team for a long time. A PSL would be viewed by the public as strictly a greedy money grab and nothing more. However, once new ownership takes over and they do have a (probably significant) debt load I'm sure they will consider everything, including PSL's if they think it would be profitable for them.
  8. You and I differ greatly when it comes to the value of things like ""hard to win" culture to an "expect to win" culture". My opinion is if any player or coach does not always expect to win they should get the !@#$ off the team. In my opinion that "culture" theory doesn't amount to one more win much less in and of itself making the Bills contend for anything. As far as the 2 good off seasons, I agree. Particularly this last one. But I still think Nix needs one more kick ass off season in order to contend. He needs to do for the offense what he did for the defense this past off season. If that happens then watch out! But I would love for you to be right and have us all watching the Bills play in February
  9. Those NFL prognosticators you speak of are well aware of the offseason moves by the Bills. But unlike hardcore Bills fans, they tend not to see the world through red and blue colored glasses. The Bills have sucked for more than a decade. Most impartial observers would tend to believe it will take more than 1 or 2 good offseasons to contend in a conference that contains the mighty Pats*. That's why they have doubt.
  10. That is different to how they are made in Rochester (at least the places I have been to). Here they use a traditional gas fired pizza oven and no pan at all. It just goes right into the oven. Maybe the places in Buffalo really are a bit thicker crust than here after all and that's what requires the pan. Interesting. Guess I'm going to have to try it sometime. Any particular places, close to 90 preferred, that are recommended? And as a side note, suddenly I'm hungry
  11. It's not that he is out to specifically screw the county. His job is to make the Bills, as a corporation, as profitable as possible. So therefore in this case his ultimate goal is to have the Bills pay as little as possible (ideally nothing) and still get all, or at least as many stadium improvements as possible. And it is the job of the politicians at the state and county levels to spend as little money as possible on the stadium. And that's what is happening with all the back and forth between all parties you are seeing now. It is not Russ Brandons job to worry about the counties bottom line. His job is to worry about the bottom line of the Bills. To imply that Brandon is going to play softball with the county and spend more of the Bills money than he has to simply out of the kindness of his heart and because he is from WNY is naive in my opinion. But I am cynical by nature when it comes to businessmen and politicians.
  12. I have never had pizza in Buffalo, maybe I should try it sometime. But I generally get wings when I'm there. But pizza in Rochester is thicker than NY style and thinner than deep dish which seems to be what you are describing. But it's just called pizza, not Buffalo pizza.
  13. Nonsense. Russ Brandon will do what is best for the Buffalo Bills and only the Buffalo Bills because that is what he is paid to do. He could be from WNY or Western China, it doesn't matter. Yes and that's really the root cause of the problem. If Mr. Wilson owned the stadium and property the issue would be settled and the taxpayers (even ones who live on the other side of the state) wouldn't be getting fleeced.
  14. Do they actually call it "Buffalo" pizza? In all the places I have traveled I have seen NY pizza (thin like others have mentioned), Chicago (generally deep dish), and that's it. Everything else is just generically called pizza. The exception being pizza with wing sauce, chicken, and blue cheese like they have in Rochester at wegmans which has the word Buffalo in it. Buffalo wings yes, including some in Cali made with teriyaki sauce which was different but not bad. But not pizza.
  15. So blind optimism you understand but not blind hate? Get some sleep
  16. Toughest guy in the NFL in my opinion is Ryan Fitzpatrick if he really had broken or even fractured ribs last season. I have had cracked ribs and it is painful to even take a deep breath. However I saw Fitz not only running, but putting his head down trying to make a running first down several times during the remainder of the season. With cracked ribs that would be off the charts painful. Unless pain blockers have made a quantum leap in the last 10 years, Fitz would absolutely be the toughest man in football.
  17. He is a "gunslinger" who tends to throw a lot of interceptions. So his superior decision making skills are questionable. I don't think his leadership or toughness can be questioned. As for the bolded, yes it can because you did
  18. Well if we are fantasizing ... I want to extract Fitz's brain, put it in Vicks body, and have the resulting hybrid QB the Bills forever.
  19. How anyone could think the name of the team make any difference at all regarding attendance is beyond rational thought to me. If the team changed it's name to the Niagara Falls Nancies but kept playing at the Ralph would you stop going just for that reason? Of course not. Putting a Stadium somewhere else could affect attendance of course, but the name is irrelevant.
  20. Wow I have never stayed in a hotel in Buffalo, but I would have never dreamed rooms there could get up to nearly $200 a night for any reason!
  21. I've been saying that for years. ST subscribers do pay to see the game and should not be blacked out for any reason. I suspect the NFL fears that bars who get the ticket will allow too many people who have the audacity to not go to the stadium to still see the game.
  22. How in the world do you figure this is true? You mean that Mr. Wilson, the man who owns the Bills outright, gets a sweetheart deal on the stadium, and has zero debt load for the team or the stadium, that Mr. Wilson cannot afford to drop down to 85% even though he has one of the lowest ticket prices in the league and plays 2 teams twice a year that has some of the highest? Come on man, the one thing Mr. Wilson can't plead is poverty
  23. Sunday ticket subscribers within the blackout area are absolutely blacked out. Even though they do pay to see the game. My guess is, the NFL feels that they do not make as much money off of those people as they do people at the stadium. Or in HD on satellites if you are technically capable. But not everyone in capable of that, or even online.
  24. Very short sighted. What about the lifelong Bills fans who are not physically able to attend? What about the 23% unemployed and the "underemployed" who cannot afford the $300 per game? What about creating new young NFL fans for the future? It's clearly not "just that simple". The NFL is comprised mainly of greedy !@#$s, that much is "just that simple" to be sure. And I agree that legally the NFL is within their rights to charge whatever they like, impose blackouts however they like and so on. But to not let senior citizens (as an example) who have been life long season ticket holders but are now physically unable to go, watch their team play on TV for the sole sake of putting a couple extra dollars in a group of billionaires pockets defines greedy !@#$s and a disturbing lack of a moral compass IMHO. And make no mistake, blackouts are all about the money, nothing else. If it was about anything else, the other major sports would have similar policies. And they do not.
  25. Not sure what areas you think are most obese etc. from the text above but Buffalo according to Healthy Kids Healthy Communities The only mention in LA was New Orleans ... I think obesity tends to follow poverty as "healthy" food costs more than McDonalds. Additionally, with that kind of poverty level I think the fan support of the Bills is outstanding despite what Reed thinks.
