  1. The whole point of the draft order being the reverse of the previous seasons results is to promote equity, not reward failure. The whole suck for Luck thing Indy pulled took advantage of that desire on the part of the NFL.
  2. A third option which would apply to me ... Only if the Bills are in the game I watch very very little non-Bills football.
  3. Don't know how effective that would be against the Jets, but it sure would be fun to watch Whatever Gaileys wrinkles are for this season (and I sure hope he has several), I doubt any of them involve heavy running.
  4. Wow. That sounds like a LOT of money for online only. But I guess it's only $15 or $19 a day. Less than parking at the Ralph.
  5. Smith is like Gaileys utility knife. WR, slot receiver, QB (emergency and wildcat) and can return kicks and punts. Having all of that with one roster spot must be tempting for a HC. But the harsh reality is Tarvaris Jackson is going to need some time before he can step in effectively in the event that Fitz can't play. Gailey may be forced to keep Thigpen around for at least the first half of the season. So it may be difficult for Gailey to figure out a way to keep 3 QBs and his utility knife on the roster.
  6. Yeah the cutting away makes you wonder though. I mean I counted 7 other channels carrying the convention on cable, and that was the HD channels alone.
  7. If Tom Brady didn't want to take a snap in preseason I doubt he would.
  8. You are right that the game results of the preseason games mean nothing. But how they play, particularly the starters, does mean something. Just ask Vince Young or anyone else cut around the league if preseason is completely meaningless. You people who keep touting the preseason is completely meaningless are grossly oversimplifying things.
  9. I can see where people might feel that the Bills defense will give Sanchize a good spanking on 9/9, but what in the world makes you think the Bills offense is going to blow out the Jets defense?? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see it. But is it just the excitement of the upcoming season talking or what? I cannot come up with anything beyond the return of FredEx that makes me think the Bills offense is going to be a point scoring machine, particularly against what should be at the very least a competent defense.
  10. Tailgating makes them no money.
  11. It isn't. But the NFL and DirectTv both market their own streaming products as well as the Sunday ticket itself so they would be against any streaming that wasn't putting money in their pockets. Slingbox is perfectly legal and has things in place to keep it legal so talking about it here should not ruffle any ones feathers. But the rest of the streaming is considered taboo here, either out of fear of NFL action, not wanting to deny the NFL of it's profits, or just feeling that it is immoral/illegal. And if I may ask, if you use slingbox are you able to get HD content streamed anywhere outside of your home? If so, what speed is your outbound internet? And I read that the box has no HDMI inputs which seems insane to me, is that true? Thanks.
  12. Safe, secure, clean, friendly, short walk to stadium = hammers lot. Highly recommended.
  13. Jets D is probably better I think. The Bills line should be better, but the Bills are largely young and unproven (so far anyway) at DB. The Jets LBs are [significantly] better than the Bills counterparts. And in a lot of ways, LBs are more important overall than line. If the Jets O somehow manages to get their **** together they could be formidable.
  14. There is nfl ticket exchange but I have found their prices to be insanely high. If you don't mind missing the opening kickoff, a scalper can get you the best deal (wait until the last minute and they are willing to drastically cut the price rather than get stuck). However if you want safe and guaranteed, stubhub/ticketmaster is the way to go.
  15. Ahhh. I guess if your definition of "deeper" starts at 10 yards then I'll take your word for it.
  16. Imagine what will happen if the Jests lose to the lowly Bills opening day. Public execution of sexy-rexy followed by mass suicides.
  17. I'm not sure throwing it out of bounds 30 yards down the field as you are getting knocked on your ass counts as a concerted effort to throw deeper.
  18. I guess we will see if that name is accurate on Sept 9 huh
  19. 16-9 with whichever teams defense that scores the only touchdown as the winner.
  20. or ... Nix thought he saw something correctable in Jackson.
  21. I just called up stats pages for Jackson and Fitz side by side and except for their pictures, they are eerily similar.
  22. That line right there in my opinion is going to determine how much success the Bills have this season. Chan having not just a "megamind" plan, but being able to adjust it as defenses adapt. In short, he is going to have to earn what some here claim about him, that he is an offensive genius.
  23. A better question is, why bother to keep players on the roster that suck just because you signed them as free agents? I do feel bad about Merriman, but ultimately he was under contract to play football, not recruit. It had to be done.
