  1. I can see where people might feel that the Bills defense will give Sanchize a good spanking on 9/9, but what in the world makes you think the Bills offense is going to blow out the Jets defense?? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see it. But is it just the excitement of the upcoming season talking or what? I cannot come up with anything beyond the return of FredEx that makes me think the Bills offense is going to be a point scoring machine, particularly against what should be at the very least a competent defense.
  2. Tailgating makes them no money.
  3. It isn't. But the NFL and DirectTv both market their own streaming products as well as the Sunday ticket itself so they would be against any streaming that wasn't putting money in their pockets. Slingbox is perfectly legal and has things in place to keep it legal so talking about it here should not ruffle any ones feathers. But the rest of the streaming is considered taboo here, either out of fear of NFL action, not wanting to deny the NFL of it's profits, or just feeling that it is immoral/illegal. And if I may ask, if you use slingbox are you able to get HD content streamed anywhere outside of your home? If so, what speed is your outbound internet? And I read that the box has no HDMI inputs which seems insane to me, is that true? Thanks.
  4. Safe, secure, clean, friendly, short walk to stadium = hammers lot. Highly recommended.
  5. Jets D is probably better I think. The Bills line should be better, but the Bills are largely young and unproven (so far anyway) at DB. The Jets LBs are [significantly] better than the Bills counterparts. And in a lot of ways, LBs are more important overall than line. If the Jets O somehow manages to get their **** together they could be formidable.
  6. There is nfl ticket exchange but I have found their prices to be insanely high. If you don't mind missing the opening kickoff, a scalper can get you the best deal (wait until the last minute and they are willing to drastically cut the price rather than get stuck). However if you want safe and guaranteed, stubhub/ticketmaster is the way to go.
  7. Ahhh. I guess if your definition of "deeper" starts at 10 yards then I'll take your word for it.
  8. Imagine what will happen if the Jests lose to the lowly Bills opening day. Public execution of sexy-rexy followed by mass suicides.
  9. I'm not sure throwing it out of bounds 30 yards down the field as you are getting knocked on your ass counts as a concerted effort to throw deeper.
  10. I guess we will see if that name is accurate on Sept 9 huh
  11. 16-9 with whichever teams defense that scores the only touchdown as the winner.
  12. or ... Nix thought he saw something correctable in Jackson.
  13. I just called up stats pages for Jackson and Fitz side by side and except for their pictures, they are eerily similar.
  14. That line right there in my opinion is going to determine how much success the Bills have this season. Chan having not just a "megamind" plan, but being able to adjust it as defenses adapt. In short, he is going to have to earn what some here claim about him, that he is an offensive genius.
  15. A better question is, why bother to keep players on the roster that suck just because you signed them as free agents? I do feel bad about Merriman, but ultimately he was under contract to play football, not recruit. It had to be done.
  16. Tavaris Jackson is a similar type of QB to VY (although hopefully much more skilled), so it makes perfect sense that VY would go immediately.
  17. I'd say to keep it closed. Early predictions are what makes it fun.
  18. I was at the game so I had to wait until yesterday to get a good look on TV. In my opinion the only offensive starter that looked good was FredEx. Several others looked OK, and the rest looked like they still needed a lot of work. And God help the Bills if any starters get hurt this season. With few exceptions, the backups look terrible. Not much time left until the opener and the starters probably won't see much work against the Lions. So we will see how much they improve and what Gaileys megamind plan is for the season. Some good news is I watched the first 3 quarters of the Jests dress rehearsal yesterday and they made the Bills look like superbowl contenders by comparison. Can't wait for Sept. 9 to get here so we can get past all the "preseason is meaningless; no it isn't" stuff and know for sure just how much the Bills have improved. Because you know for a fact they will be bringing all they have against the Jests.
  19. People have now seen how much VY has outright sucked and have nightmares about Fitz being hurt and either VY or Thigpen starting games.
  20. Spiller makes himself look bad by turning toward the sideline as soon as he sees an opposing jersey. That isn't going to work in the NFL and he has certainly proved that so far. If you notice, FredEx keeps it going north and even if he only picks up 2 or 3 yards, that's better than a consistant -1 or no gain by going sideways. As to your last line, I'm not sure how to respond as I don't believe I ever blamed the Bills sucking the past 2 seasons solely on Spiller. I just contend that the Spiller pick has not been a good one, much less a great one so far.
  21. The problem with him isn't his stats. Sometimes the O line would make a seam and Spiller would be 20 yards down the field before the D even knew what the hell was going on which was always fun to watch and (rightly so in my opinion) gives fans something to be hopeful about. But the next 3 or more carries he would run towards the sideline for no gain. So for those 4 carries as an example, his YPC would be 5 (even more if the initial run was more than 20 yards). But that doesn't do much to sustain a drive. Spiller has explosive speed, but until he learns how to use it properly by going north instead of east/west consistently it isn't going to do the Bills much good over the course of a game or season. Maybe this is the year he finally is able to put it all together. All Bills fans should hope for this. I certainly am!
  22. i always scratch my head when I see stuff like this. He sucked complete and total ass his rookie year in every way that it is possible for a RB to suck ass. The last half of last year (his 2nd) he ran a bit better. Tried on occasion to go north instead of east/west which was great to see. Both years, and so far in this preseason, he still cannot pick up a blitzer to save his (or Fitz's) life. By all accounts he is a nice kid with a great work ethic and has great speed. But so far that has not translated into anything even remotely "special". But you are right to say he still could. I'm pulling for the kid to have a breakout season this year, which a RB sure as hell should be able to have by year 3 if he is ever going to, But no freaking way, in my opinion, can anyone say picking Spiller as his first pick as the Bills GM was great so far anyway.
  23. As they played for two very different teams up until now that really isn't a great barometer. Watching them both in camp and in the preseason games so far VJ has impressed me with his running ability and raw arm strength and nothing else. I don't think Fitz (as much as I like him) is the long term solution either mind you, but VJ thus far has shown me almost nothing.
  24. I have seen nothing in VYs entire career to date that leads me to your conclusion. He is better than Thigpen which puts him on the 53 man roster, but being better than Thigpen isn't saying much.
