  1. I think that some, if not most, of the owners would prefer the team in a more profitable market. But that being said I think that Pegula being a businessman with the means to buy the team without a group speaks volumes to the other owners who will vote him into the billionaire boys club unanimously.
  2. http://www.forbes.com/sites/tomwatson/2014/01/30/the-real-super-bowl-question-should-the-nfl-be-a-nonprofit/ The NFL is classified as a non-profit and as such, exempt from federal taxes. Utilities may or may not get tax breaks depending upon where they are, but I'm pretty sure that as a whole they pay taxes. Additionally the facilities that the utilities use to make their money are not paid for by the local governments. I know it's tough to see past the man-crush on the NFL sometimes. If the NFL did not take government handouts and paid taxes like everyone else then they could black out games to their hearts content. But the way it is now is 100% bull ****.
  3. Wouldn't that be awesome. But, I suspect the NFL would still find a way.
  4. You seriously typed that? You can't see the difference between a ****ty team playing one game a year there versus having a team based there? Besides, he probably meant that the NFL needs a team there because it needs the money Now the moron comment I'm in complete agreement with
  5. Technically anyway, the first 3 on your list still have a say in the matter. So you know what they say about counting your chickens. But even though I have no doubt that the vast majority of owners would have preferred the team moved to a larger market, I also have no doubt that Pegula will be confirmed at the owners vote.
  6. The entire Giants team sucks this season. I wish they were on the Bills schedule.
  7. Nah just shopping it. Tell them both about it and offer to the highest bidder.
  8. Still don't understand why it's different now if he admitted to it before. But, whatever. Surprised the video came out. I would think Rice and/or the Ravens would have paid more for that video than TMZ would.
  9. I'm confused. Didn't he admit that he hit the woman when the video came out of him dragging her out of the elevator? So why is it different now that there is video of something he had already admitted to?
  10. There really were a lot. But both kickers ... don't underestimate what the brand new punter did. But EJ is probably the top for me. Not that he had an all star game or anything, but he played within himself and allowed the team to win. Plus I loved his runs. Slid or got out of bounds and for the most part got his desired result.
  11. I was at 8ish wins and am still there. I was very encouraged to see Manuel play within himself and run smart and not take any unnecessary hits. Cutler had a good game overall, but gift wrapped it for the Bills late. The Bears offense had several other gifts today as well. Can't say I'm shedding a tear though . But as they say, all wins are good wins, on the road even better!
  12. Whew, makes Sully look like Mother Teresa. My favs: "It’s one thing for the Bears to lose at home to the Packers last season. But to lose to the Bills? Kill me now." "Then the Bears go to Carolina and Atlanta, neither of whom might or might not be any good, but the Bills just proved you don’t have to be a good team to beat the Bears."
  13. Kickers, RBs, EJ (played within himself, ran well, no big mistakes), Cutler, and the Bills new lockdown corner, Kyle Williams
  14. Enjoy those winnings OP
  15. Nice. With wings almost a buck a piece in some places I should invest in a deep fryer.
  16. He didn't want to miss the opener, sweet! Congrats!
  17. Pretty boring compared to the rest of you The same as what we do every game. I record the game and have it strip commercials while we are out doing something then pick up pizza and wings on the way home. We then eat dinner and enjoy the game as a family.
  18. According to the Bills injury report anyway, Watkins practiced fully wed-fri and is probable to start. Of course he started against the Lions and went 1 or 2 plays I believe so who knows. Gilmore is listed as questionable. I knew he was gimpy but if he can't go at all the Bills are in trouble.
  19. Generally I agree with you. But a clean sweep says a lot.
  20. Fewer dead bodies though
  21. Week 1 so I suppose anything can happen. But with all 13 ESPN analysts picking the Bears and all 8 analysts on the CBS website picking the Bears to cover a 7.5 spread it gives one cause to maybe bet with your head and not your heart
  22. Genny?? You REALLY do love misery!
  23. Geesh. CBS: All 8 guys pick the Bears not just to win, but to cover a 7.5 point spread. Prisco in his "preview" on the site said basically it was due to the fact that EJ has looked like **** in preseason and there are big questions about him. ESPN: All 13 pick the Bears. I'm a little surprised that at least 1 or 2 of the CBS guys didn't take the Bills with the points.
  24. You have more faith than I do my friend. Particularly in week 1 and away But here's to you having a little extra coin in your pocket come Sunday night
  25. The reason is the Bears WRs are considered by many as the best overall in the NFL, Cutler has a good arm and is accurate enough to hit them when they are open, Cutler is coming off a good season last year, and with no Byrd and a gimpy Gilmore they think the Bills will be hurt in the air. It all makes perfect sense and should happen unless the Bills can get in Cutlers face early and often.
