  1. It's worse when you go overseas. Taxi drivers from the airport almost always ask where in the US you are from and when you say New York a very high percentage of the time they will ask "The Bronx?"
  2. I don't live in Buffalo so who knows, maybe my home town being the butt of jokes my entire life would bother me in that case. An ignorant opinion is just meaningless to me now though.
  3. I could. If I knew it to be on the rise and not dying then the opinion of someone who has never been there would have no meaning to me. It might bother me if someone like Mr. Blue who has lived there his entire life thought that, but someone talking out his ass about something he knows nothing about? Why would that bother you, me, or anyone?
  4. I think if you asked a knowledgeable non homer (Bills or Texans) to look at both rosters I think they might come up with an analysis that would surprise you and be closer than you think.
  5. Very not true based on my experience anyway. Most do a few at the very least.
  6. It's in Houston which is generally worth 3 points.
  7. The rush to make a change that maybe will win a couple more games this season at the expense of seeing if the first round young QB actually has what it takes to be the teams QB for many years is absurd to me as well. Instant gratification can be a heartless B word I guess.
  8. The Bills have been very fortunate so far this season in that in 2 of the 3 games, the opponents top RB (who both happen to be good) went out in the first series. if that holds true, or Foster can't go at all, the Bills have a pretty good chance. If Foster can go and go hard, then I would tend to favor the Texans at home. Pick-em.
  9. If the Bills make it to the playoffs this season it will be due to something other than QB play, probably the defense. Games where it will require the offense in general and QB in particular to carry the team, like last Sunday, won't go well in general this season anyway. So based on your definition, I would be a no for this season.
  10. I agree, and with Foster being a maybe it throws even more uncertainty in it.
  11. CBS with Texans -3.5: 4 each, Bills and Texans. CBS Straight up: 5 Texans 3 Bills, the computer takes the Texans. ESPN: As usual these slackers haven't put their picks in yet. Nate Silvers ELo says "pick-em". http://fivethirtyeig...d-playoff-odds/ FYI: Here is what goes into his ELo rating system. http://fivethirtyeig...fl-elo-ratings/ Probability of the Bills winning according to this ELo system is: Pr(A) = 1 / (10^(-ELODIFF/400) + 1) Where ELODIFF is Team A’s Elo rating minus Team B’s Elo rating. So Pr(Bills) = 1 / (10^(-(1473 - 1411)/400) + 1) Pr(Bills) = 1 / (10^(-62/400) + 1) Pr(Bills) = 1 / (10^(-0.155) + 1) Pr(Bills) = 1 / (1.699841996) Probability of Bills winning is 58.82%
  12. Yeah and it's the water company making the donation, not the Bills. Clearly if you want to help HH, donating the cost of that case of bottled tap water is the way to go.
  13. Maybe you make kool-aid at home WITH Bills water.
  14. On board for what I guess. If you mean that he will be one of the top QBs in the NFL then no. If you mean that he can and will become a serviceable, middle of the road starting QB, then yes he still has that potential but he is not there yet.
  15. Another biz opportunity ... Git er done Russ!
  16. I'd make the same bet for almost every thread here.
  17. That is nice. But I tire of pure greed in the NFL. It would have been a much nicer gesture if the statement would have read ... "In addition, the Buffalo Bills are donating 100% of their proceeds from this venture to the Hunter's Hope Foundation."
  18. The good thing, I guess, about Manuel is that when he is inaccurate he is so far off that there is generally no one in the vicinity to intercept it.
  19. Buffalo got 2nd and Pinto Kenny was mentioned. But they managed a backhanded "compliment" about Buffalo at the same time. http://www.foxnews.c...ailgating-best/
  20. Like always and for [almost] every player, a good GM will listen to any offers that come in from other teams. If there is a desperate team that needs Spiller for a SB run and they are willing to dig deep into their pockets to get him, maybe Whaley makes the deal. Otherwise it is up to Whaley to determine if Spiller can be re-signed or not and act accordingly. It is unlikely anyone here is privy to any of the information I outlined above, I certainly don't, so I can not even guess about Spillers future.
  21. Pretty much. As to the topic question, quite frankly I'm not sure what they saw in Manuel. But I suspect it was more than being Vick Jr.
  22. If that happens I will be borrowing Yolo's toaster.
  23. I will finish my dinner, probably with a few more curse words than normal.
  24. To me, Fosters health is a huge factor in this game. If he can go and is near 100% it will be a big problem for the Bills. Without Foster the Texans should look like they did against the G-Men which bodes well for the Bills.
  25. I locked the thread as Dorkington answered my original question, which satisfied Albert as well.
