  1. Touche, @Mr Weo LMAO.. Agreed with @Bladiebla, we got the cap room, and we don't know if MW will contibute or become a complete tire fire like he's notorious for being. And think about something else, what have the Bills been snakebitten with more than any other team during this 14 year drought?...INJURIES! We as fans scream and holler about the team never having enough depth. WE NOW HAVE IT...at least at WR, anyway! Why screw that up?!
  2. The Bills gave up a 1st and 4th in next years draft to get Sammy Watkins. They thought enough of this kid to give up that much! I believe the Bills think this kid is that much of a game changer that he is the final piece of the offensive puzzle to compete with teams like New England and Denver. Mike Mayock even went on record saying: "If you can't stop them...outscore them" (a credit to the draftee, but also an obvious jab at our defense w/o Byrd). Trading Stevie Johnson would absolutely defeat the purpose of this trade and subsequent pick. Watkins was added also due to the fact that Stevie was essentially the only credible WR the team had. He faced double teams far too often. I never really thought Stevie was as good as he or a lot of fans thought he was, but he is valuable and to me, trading him offsets everything the Bills just did. I think Stevie stays, but it'll be quite intriguing to see who Marrone lists as the "#1 receiver...
  3. Are you high off your a$&?! And it wouldn't be giving him a "second chance"! The guys had chance after chance after chance after chance! He needs help! He should not even be allowed to play in the league again for his actions.
  4. There's always going to be quirks and pitfalls, but ANYTHING is better than "Deion vs. Rice" again!
  5. Go back to conferenced game, AFC vs. NFC, and reward each team of the winning conference (whether the team was represented or not) one additional first round pick in next years draft (this pick would not be able to be traded). Thoughts?
  6. With the loss of Byrd at FS, I'm convinced we will go after a DE to go with Mario on the opposite side. Corey Grahams a good enough DB, but those are some huge shoes to fill back there. I'm not too confident in Aaron Williams back there, either. Our defensive backfield didn't have such a great year last year, and hopefully the injury bug takes a longer tour in another city this year. As they say, a consistant pass rush does wonders for the secondary. I'm lookin for the bills to be aggressive and go after either Mack or Clowney.
  7. It's been quite a trying offseason here in Bills Country. Not that we've had many bright moments in these parts over the last decade and a half, but you all know what I'm referring to. Being a Bills fan has rarely been easy, yet we, the die-hards, always stay the course. We come back, year after year, even after our hopes get sky-high every offseason. Throughout this 14 year playoff drought, there have been a handful of years where the Bills have teased us with brilliance. The 5-1 start in 2008, the 9-6 year where all we had to do was beat Steeler 3rd stringers, and the 3-0 post-beating New England for the first time in eight seasons. Yet for whatever reason, whether it'd be injuries, schedule, etc. The Bills haven't been able to put together a season to write home about since 1999. Yes, that's a long time, in case you're keeping score. Just to paint a picture for you on a personal level: I've been through two marriages, and welcomed three beautiful children into my life since the Bills last playoff game in Tennessee. I think about that alot...and it's just as unbelievable as the last time I've thought about it. I try not to use the word "embarrassed" when I tell people who my favorite NFL team is. However, every passing year, it's increasingly harder not to use this word and to not feel that way. How does a professional sports team, in this day and age, miss year after year. Not just on draft picks, but free-agents, coaches, front office personel. You name it, this franchise has blundered it over the last 14 years. Now, here's where the story changes. This year is different. It HAS to be! I understand that this isn't a movie. There isn't always happy endings in real life. But the Buffalo Bills, their sometimes WAY too loyal fan base, this community, Mr. Wilson (god rest his soul), and our hero who is fighting the most important battle of his life, Jim Kelly, deserve a good ending...for once! This season will be ran on pure emotion. In an era where money and egos far too often control far too much, the 53 men who make the final cut in August, have an enormous responsibility that await them beginning the following month. Forget who is lining up across from you. Forget the you face possibly the greatest quarterback of all time twice a year. Forget about trying to right a 14 year wrong... This season is about two men. Two GREAT men who did give us some great memories. We don't know how much longer we have a football team that will be this much a part of our lives. But Mr. Wilson and Mr. Kelly, if nobody else, deserve a season to remember... GO BILLS!
  8. I always find it odd when teams say "We're willing to release the player if we do not find a trade partner." Why would any team give up pick, etc. if the team trying to part ways with the player comes out and says they'll release him anyway? Never made sense to me.
  9. Let me paint a picture for ya: When the Oakland Raiders cut ties with you...your career is essentially over.
  10. ...are we going to do this everytime a quarterback is released? Cuz this is exhausting!
  11. The story of the Buffalo Bills has not been a great one. I first started following the team in the 1988 season at 9 years old. The first game I ever watched was the AFC Championship Game vs. Cincinnati in "The Jungle..". A blowout loss. It was the first game my father and myself ever watched together. The Bills have been the only bond between me and my father over the years. They've been the only reason we've come together over the years, especially lately. But together, we've shared alot of good memories...and not so good memories. We watched the Harmon drop in Cleveland and subsequent Clay Matthews INT that followed on the very next play. We watched together the following year as Norwood came within inches of fulfilling not only every teammate of his...but an entire blue-collar community. We watched together as the next three Superbowls ended progressively worse! We watched together following a stunning loss in the 1996 AFC Wildcard Game to the Jacksonville Jaguars, as Jim Kelly said his final goodbye to the game, team and city he loved and carried. We watched together as the likes of Todd Collins, Rob Johnson, Drew Bledsoe, J.P.Losman, Trent Edwards and Ryan Fitzpatrick (among others) failed to match Kelly's magic. The Bills and their fanbase have been through the ringer together over the years. Four Superbowl losses. 14 years without the playoffs. The threat of the team now being bought and moved, Kellys battle with Cancer, Ralphs passing...you all know the story. The Bills have always been the team seemingly trying to fight uphill. The underdog. In 1995, when word got out in Cleveland that the Browns were packing up and headed to Baltimore, the team folded like a wet blanket. The team and city were so disheartened by the turn of events that the remaining on-field product was left abysmally unwatchable. We know this: We likely have seven years left at least to have the Bills. The last 14 years have been brutal! Alot of us, out of frustration over those 14 years, have likely said some pretty regrettable statements: "Move the (expletive) team already!"..."Things will never change as long as Ralph owns the team!"..I'm guilty of both. Now, I sit here, as many of you do, and can't help but think of the families of both Ralph Wilson and Jim Kelly. This is the darkest of times for Buffalo and its fans...but how do we respond? How will the 2014 Bills respond? Adversity ate the city of Cleveland alive in 1995... ...but i have a feeling, no matter if the Bills are here or not in 7 years...that through all this adversity and tragedy...this team...this city...this fanbase..will overcome...and starting this year, this is a new era of Bills football..and dedicated to the two men who exemplify what it means to overcome the odds. Hey NFL...you've officially been put on notice.
  12. Sadly, the NFL is a business just like anything else. And to make matters more worrysome, its the biggest business in sports. If the Bills are the answer to a team in Los Angeles, there's virtually no stopping it...
  13. Were better and above this douchebag...and so is RWs legacy. The rest of the NFL is officially on notice. The 2014 Buffalo Bills will be running on emotion all year. Somethin special is about to go down...
  14. So, when they signed Tebow, what exactly was that?! Dude barely saw the field. Sanchez at the time was their guy. The Jets always do this. Same with the Favre signing. Instead of building toward the future, it seems like that franchise is too concerned with stealing the heat from the Giants, and it never amounts to anything...EVER!
  15. First of all, Id like to say RIP Mr. Wilson and my thoughts and prayers are with your family as well as the family of Jim Kelly. Stay strong all... Now, onto business (the show must go on as they say). I know we all could care less about our opponents, especially divisional opponents, but seriously...WHAT IN THE HELL ARE THE NEW YORK JETS DOING?! They sign Vick...ONE YEAR after drafting their supposed future "face of the franchise", Geno Smith. Now, I could understand them signing any of the "journeyman" QBs out there...but that's nit what this is, and Rex Ryan came out and admitted that Vick had a shot to unseat Smith as the Jets starter. WHY?! Why do this to your supposed future and the guy who's gonna lead you for the next 10 years after already starting him for one year? I could also understand if this were the plan from the beginning. But it wasn't! Guess this is why the Jets will always be...the Jets. The LOOK AT ME team of the NFL!
  16. ...and I shutter to think what the city of Brotherly Love will do to this dude if there's ever a "butt-fumble" sequel...ok, maybe I'd enjoy that JUST a little!
  17. Anyone but me think the NFL should invest in a reality show documenting free agent visitors and the conversations that go on behind closed doors? I personally would love to also see cameras pick up the conversations when players are cut, etc. "Hard Knocks" oftens gives us pieces of this, but I, as a hardcore fan, in the offseason would love something more to satisfy my football fix. Just thinkin out loud...
  18. It has always been this way. Have you been living under a rock since 1993?
  19. @Pete I like the way u think and your optimism, and I hope you're right! Its just too damn bad when you sit back and think about the dominance of them over us since they showed up some 13 years or so ago and you have to sit back and wait for one or the other to get the hell outta dodge before. you have a prayer of being competitive again. We all hate the Pats, but its an attribute to how dominant they've been during that course of time. It also goes to show just how poor we've been in that time and how far behind everybody else in the league we are. Miami and the Jets have managed to gain sporadic wins over them during this era of dominance and even managed to beat them in Foxborough a few times...we've beaten them TWICE since 2003! Both at the Ralph! We have NEVER won in Gillette stadium! Sickening lol
  20. ...when Brady and/or Belichick decide their time is up with the Patriots? Its an interesting dilemma when you ask who is in the best position to be at the top of the food chain in the AFC East. It seems to me, right now, that Miami has the QB with the most upside in Tannehill. Manuel and Geno Smith haven't been consistant enough for me to bank on either at the moment. Tannehill can be erratic as well but not nearly as much as those two. And Manuel couldn't stay healthy to save his life last year, lets hope that doesn't continue. Not to say the Pats won't draft the "2nd coming", but that doesn't seem likely as they'll HAVE to rebuild at some point in the near future. Of coursr, its also possible when they do leave, the AFC East becomes the NFC West of 3-4 years ago and everybodys awful...lol
