  1. Plenty of time to bring in some guys and learn at least parts of the offense. Haven't heard the status of EJ for Week 6, all I know is Marrone can't have much confidence in Tuel after that pathetic display last evening. I don't care if its Freeman, Tebow or another veteran, but a plan B is essential. Just hope the front office realizes this!
  2. Its a simple as this: This team should make it a mandatory priority to at LEAST bring a guy in and work him out after Tuel's performance last night. EJ had knee problems before the injury last night. And when an unproven, undrafted rookie is your backup to your starter, who, himself , is unproven ...its a recipe for disaster! The Bills were askin for trouble to begin with...
  3. I've been watching this team lose for 14 years now. But seriously, this kid is a bonafide STAR among boys!
  4. It's the "Rob Johnson" syndrome. Guy looked great in one relatively meaningless game, got a shot...and failed.
  5. The Bills and Browns certainly have an intertwined, weird and rarely meaningful history of games. What Bills/Browns game is your most memorable or infamous that comes to mind? The Derek Anderson 2-17 game where the Browns actually WON? The snow game in Cleveland in '08 where the Browns beat the Bills 8-0? The Jim Kelly/Clay Matthews interception AFC Divisional game in 1988? The Brady Quinn Monday Night game where Trent Edwards cemented the moniker "Captain Checkdown, Browns win? Other?
  6. I know, a bizarre statement considering that its a game with the equally mediocre Cleveland Browns. But consider this: In 2011, the "old Bills" finally defeated the hated (and superior) New England Patriots for the first time since opening day 2003. Things seemingly were on the up-and-up, it was supposed to be different. The next week, Buffalo went to Cincinnati, looked flat, not just in the contest, but for the remainder of the 2011 campaign. In 2008, the Trent Edwards-led Bills began 5-1 after beating a then-SuperBowl contender in the San Diego Chargers at home in the "Lights Out" game. Again, it seemed as though times had changed. The next week, the Bills, and their QB who only a week before looked like he was the franchise guy, were knocked out by the eventual NFC champion Arizona Cardinals in Glendale. The Bills never recovered, and it was, in fact, "Same old Bills". That brings us to tonight! We've heard it before from a few players who played on those teams (i.e.: Fred Jackson). "Were not the same old Bills!"l The Bills come off of a big game win, this year against the defending SuperBowl champion Ravens, to play a team that they SHOULD beat. Facing a lifelong backup QB in Bryan Hoyer, a team that just traded, clearly, its best player. Yet have dug deep to win back-to-back games. Buffalos past of having their season deflated after emotional, big time games has been duely noted. If this really isn't the same old Bills, in a weird way, tonights underwhelmingly looked at game...might be the biggest game this team has had since, well, their last playoff game in Tennessee, 14 years ago...
  7. ATL-31 NE-24 MIA-19 NO-16 (OT) SEA-20 HOU-6 DEN-38 PHI-20 Who ya'll got?! #GOBILLS
  8. Our run blocking has been deplorable at best, and CJ trying to do too much when there's nothing there surely does not help matters! I say get CJ the ball in the slot in open space (i.e. WR screens, etc.) being that the Ravens' D is quite agressive. Screens both from the slot and out of the backfield with CJ could help slow the pass rush/blitzes of Baltimore's defense. Also, when we do run these read-option plays, it'd be nice to see Manuel actually KEEP THE BALL every now and again. 98% of these plays are being handed to the RBs. Nobody's falling for Manuel keeping the ball and this definitely doesn't help this read-option scheme when the@ defense knows who's going to carry the football. I completely understand trying to protect the rookie/franchise QB, but one of the main reasons Marrone drafted him was his elusiveness and athletisism. Utilize it for cryin out loud and make their defense think a little bit! Defensively, Ray Rice will play and Jacoby Jones is out. I say stack the box and make Flacco beat us. I know he just won a SB, but I'm part of the majority in saying he is not an elite QB! The Ravens know how porous our run defense is and will try to expose that. If they're able to establish the run and create play-action opportunities for Flacco against this banged up secondary, the game may be over before halftime, unfortunately! :/ Thoughts?!...
  9. Ray Rice practiced today, says he's a go. Same with CJ. Too many injuries defensively for the Bills for me to pick 'em. RAVENS 34; BILLS 17. Who ya'll got?...
  10. I know right?! Coming from one of the greatest posters TSW has ever known... :/ pssh
  11. ...and, we have Jacoby Jones and Torry Smith in town this week. Much better receivers than NYJ can field... :/
  12. Been saying it for weeks. Trade Spiller. We have our franchise (I think) QB. Tashard Choice is a viable backup to Fred. Its a passing league, get a pick or two for CJ or maybe a SHUTDOWN CORNER for him. Draft another RB in 2014. Or why not package Byrd & CJ together. Its not unheard of. Byrd don't wanna be here and CJ can only gash cupcake defenses. Why the hell not...
  13. Understood. But any CB that gives up 200 yds in a game don't deserve to be in the league at all, that's ridiculous. With all the injuries, any other team woulda brought someone in at least for a workout...ANYBODY!
  14. This is something that has always bothered me about this franchise. Our secondary is depleted and instead of signing a FA or two, we'll just sit back and let a QB who just won a SB carve us up on Sunday afternoon. This is why this franchise is in the shape that its in! I understand Marrone having faith in the backups, but come on, he is seriously going to start Justin Rogers, who got torched for over 200 yds, against a Ravens receiving corp that's far better than the Jets receivers. And Aaron Williams?! Wasn't the reason he was moved to Safety because he can't cover ANYBODY?!?!
  15. The past couple of months, I've been really high on taking Nassib or Barkley at 8. The closer the draft gets, the more I'm hating the idea of depending on a QB from this draft class to be the QB of the future. Don't get me wrong, I'm 99% sure the pick will be a QB at 8, but I'm just not sold on ANY of these guys from the '13 class. This franchise is 13 years removed from its last playoff appearance, why not ride it out with Kolb this year and do whatever's nessessary to get Manziel next draft. What's one more year missing the playoffs? Why gamble the next ten years with one of the QBs in this class when none of them look like the future? Just blowing smoke...
  16. Doesn't matter if we don't take care of business in Indianapolis...
  17. If you take away blowout losses at New York and San Francisco earlier in the year, think of just how close this team is to having a winning record at this point. This is proof of just how close teams are in the conference and the entire league, for that matter. A few plays, here and there, are what separates the good from the mediocre. Even the New England game at home. I know, we did lose by 24 points. However, Buffalo had a 21-7 lead. Driving down the field to potentially drive a stake in the heart of the Patriots, but a goal line fumble gave the Pats new life. Not to say New England wouldn't have won even if we had scored, but there's a huge difference between overcoming a 14 point defecit on the road than a 21 point defecit. But my money would have been on the Bills winning that game had it not been for that fumble. Again, good teams find a way to finish. Then, there's the Tennessee game. A game Buffalo was in control of most of the day, albeit not by much. The defense didn't show up, especially against the run, making Chris Johnson relevant again, even if it was only for one week. However, the offense was able to compensate for the defenses no-showing, and give the Bills a late lead. But bad play-calling and mis-management of the clock late, accompanied by a Fitzpatrick mistake led to another loss. Again, good teams find a way to finish. Finally, there's the New England game at Foxborough. A place the Bills haven't won since 2000. Brady was average on this day, in fact, was outplayed by Fitzpatrick. The Patriot defense made the Bills defense look good on this day. New England couldn't stop anything Buffalo did all day. It was there for the taking. That was, until Buffalo's final offensive play. The Bills had picked apart the Patriot secondary all day. Stevie Johnson was lined up against a rookie most of the day, and had some success. Scott Chandler and Donald Jones had their usual big days against the Pats. C.J. Spiller was making would-be tacklers look silly. These four were making New England's defense look foolish all game long, and, the offense looked like they would pull out a win for the teams first ever victory at Gillette Stadium. That was, until, again, a bad decision. Spiller was wide open, streaking across the field that surely would have led to a touchdown. Johnson had the rookie beat, again. But the decision was made to looked off those two, and throw to rookie T.J. Graham, who hadn't caught a ball all game, and, who later admitted he didn't run his route correctly. The only thing I can think of is maybe Buffalo was trying to throw to the rookie to catch New England by surprise, since they hadn't covered the above mentioned other four all afternoon. Even had he run the route correctly, you still do not trust a rookie especially in that situation. Again, good teams find a way to finish. Three wins that were there for the taking. Two against an AFC East team, all three against in-conference opponents. Buffalo would be 7-3, if they were a good team..that knew how to finish. Woulda-Coulda-Shoulda, again this year...
  18. It will not matter who Belichick fields in Week 17, the Pats will utterly embarrass Buffalo. I hope the Bills get absolutely embarrassed by both Denver and New England. They deserve it after what they put us through this year.
  19. Just so you all know, if Andy Reid is brought back and Philadelphia misses the playoffs, which they in all likelyhood will, the patrons of that team will light the entire city on fire...
