You asked for it What? But in all seriousness, I agree with your general premise, which I believe is to not reach for a QB at #8. I haven't seen any evidence to suggest that Bills are absolutely going down that path, so I wouldn't worry about it too much yet. However, I do expect the Bills to draft a QB between rounds 2-4, and would encourage them to do so.

Vince Young's $300K Birthday Party
Tommy replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's spelling. You're welcome -
Kevin Weidl from Scouts Inc. has his Senior Bowl Practice Day 1 Recap on ESPN Insider. I'm going to paraphrase here, but here is what he said about Nassib: He thought Nassib had the best day of any quarterback. He said Nassib was on the mark early on, had good zip and placement on out routes. He said Nassib was confident, had good anticipation, and was competing. In 7 on 7 drills, it says he did a good job looking off the one-high safety. Overall he said no one (among QBs) REALLY stood out, but Nassib had the best day overall. Here's the link for anyone else with Insider: http://insider.espn....ice-notes-day-1

What should the Bills do at #8?
Tommy replied to Solomon Grundy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not agreeing or disagreeing with what you said, but one thing all of us should keep in mind when doing our own evaluations of quarterbacks is whether the video we are watching is a highlight video (like the 2nd one) or a pure "every snap in a game" video (like the first one). Highlight videos can make anyone look good when you cherry pick. Personally, I really like seeing the videos of Nassib, Wilson, etc. where you can see everything they did in an entire game. It gives you a chance to see what they do in specific situations, which I believe to be valuable. -

You mean the Bulaga that was part of the O-Line that gave up 8 sacks on Rodgers against Seattle? Irvin alone had 2 sacks. I'd be lying if I said I knew how many of the sacks were on Bulaga, but I don't know that I'd call him a dominant tackle. Spiller is showing the game-breaking ability that we drafted him for.

I just hope too many Bothans didn't die to obtain that information. -
We just lost a WR, so the Bills sign a RB???
Tommy replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Apuszczalowski gave a good explanation for anyone still confused. One other thing I'd like to add is that the Bills frequently use Chandler and Spiller as WRs in 4 or 5 WR sets, so having 4 WRs on the roster plus Brad Smith for insurance is good enough to get you through a game if an injury occurs. There are really at least 6 or 7 guys who can play some form of WR for us in a given week as it stands, even if we're only carrying 4 "official" WR on the roster. -
I paid $4 to get ESPN the magazine plus insider access for the entire year. It's worth it to me, but only because I found a good deal.

Casey Pachall, Bills future franchise QB
Tommy replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Haha. Yeah I hear what you're saying about the Big 12 being known for high scoring offenses and sub-par defenses. That's certainly true to an extent, but in general, I feel like playing a solid Big 12 schedule will give us a better indicator of his ability compared to playing Mountain West teams. His last 5 weeks are rough: OK St, West Virginia, Kansas St, Texas, and Oklahoma. Texas will have one of the best defenses in the country this season, so that would be a game to watch if you want to see how the kid fares. But back to your point...given the conference Pachall plays in, he better be putting up some numbers. -
Casey Pachall, Bills future franchise QB
Tommy replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let's see how he plays in the Big 12 this season. I'm not saying TCU didn't play some good teams last year, but I think this season will be a better indicator of his future potential. -
Although I don't think I'm the guy you're referring to because I never mentioned it here, I do know the girl Jasper has been dating. We were in the same class at North Tonwanda High School. I haven't talked to her in years, but we are friends on Facebook. Every once in a while she posts some pictures of them together. Anyway, if I hear or see anything noteworthy about Jasper I'll post it.

Jets-Bills opener - need tix?
Tommy replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just bought my tickets on StubHub! Section 330 Row 23. Coming up from Philly with another Bills fan (both originally from Buffalo), as well as a buddy of mine from college who is a Jets fan. It will be funny when he realizes the section will be mostly Bills fans thanks to NYCBBB. -
Buddy not mincing words on Troup, Carrington...
Tommy replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't usually like to get involved in any arguments on here, but this is one case where I need to jump in. I agree 100% with what eball has said, and he's right...other people are trying to twist things and argue about something else, and they are missing the point. Buddy Nix is a refreshing change from the typical GM, and I for one feel lucky to have him. I love the blunt honesty and openness about the team; he's the kind of guy you can rally behind because he'll tell it like it is. Also, Armchair GM, I agree with you about Spencer Johnson having a chance to really step up this year. As you said, he'll finally be back in his "original" position as a DT in a 4-3 defense, and this season should be a good chance for him to step up and be a valuable member of the DT rotation. -
I'll agree that it has been a little quiet recently on the Jets front, and they certainly still have a great defense. In terms of their running game however, they finished 22nd in the NFL last season in rushing yards per game, and 30th in the NFL in yards per attempt at 3.8. Nick Mangold is a great center, but their running game hasn't really been the same since they had Thomas Jones and a more dominant offensive line. I don't think their use of Tebow will add THAT much more to what they currently do. I'm not trying to argue...just stating my opinion that their running game doesn't scare me.

Thanks! I like where your head's at...the only thing that would make it better however is to also forward the link to Stevie Johnson's cake. The only thing better than one cake is two cakes.

List: Most Useless Player on Every NFL Team

That cake is pretty awesome! It's kinda funny that you bring this up because today is actually my birthday. Sadly, I will not have an awesome cake like that.

Agreed on all counts. Kelsay will probably be the "starter" that's out there on 1st down. But there will be a lot of rotation at the position opposite Williams.
