  1. nope. Just lucky he played a Bills defense that was down to their 4th best CB as their starter. I'd take EJ with those odds too.
  2. Time will tell. I'm happy with EJ so far though. Firmly believe that EJ will be better long term. Honestly feel that Geno is immature and a "me first" kind of guy and will show he is not suitable to be a long term franchise QB. But that's just my opinion.
  3. Agree with you OP. In fact is say we wouldn't even need a top 10 QB. Give us a top 15-20 and we would be. However, EJ hasn't been that bad. Just not very good. He's not doing much to win you games (minus Carolina) but he's not doing anything to lose you games (I guess minus Cleveland where he got himself injured). In the end, he's right about where he should be with Rookie play and he's learning. Hopefully we stay in the hunt with Lewis while EJ is out because this defense is just getting healthy and could get even better. Would be a shame to waste such a good defensive year on no playoffs.
  4. i think he's worth that much. Doesn't mean I want us to pay that much for him tho.
  5. first rounder for Peters if you have forgotten. And we picked Wood with that pick. Overall, I'd say we for the better deal so far. We also took Shawn Nelson who isn't with the team now but did produce and show a little promise while he was here. I can't find out who we took with the conditional pick but it was either Moats or Batten in 2010. Overall, I'm thinking we made out.
  6. i was just gonna say that we are in the situation were in right now because of Kelsey.
  7. cant believe I'm going to say this.... But great post. Couldn't be more right.
  8. could you imagine the amount of people that would jump off a bridge on this site if we IRd Hopkins and the very next week Carpenter got injured?
  9. ok. Ill see you in April. Have fun on your Sundays.
  10. Well, Marrone said "as of right now, Lewis is the starter" that could simply change before game day. However I doubt it does. The fact is that Lewis much more experienced than Tuel and has actually started in a game before in the league. It's actually the proper thing to do considering they are still very much in this season and hoping for a playoff spot. Use the guy that's got more experience to count on for a game. He is also more versatile and can make plays when things break down. Color me very optimistic.
  11. thank you for this. Actually makes me feel even better about this Sunday. He's got some wheels to make plays when things break down. Threw fairly well outside the pocket on the run, and has a very quick release. The misfires won't be nearly as bad as he's going to be throwing to guys like Stevie, Woods, Chandler and not guys like Kaufman, Hogan, Provo. He's also been on the team for more than 4 days an probably has a better feel for the playbook at this point. Color me very optimistic. watch the video and tell us honestly that he's not faster on the field than Jeff Tuel.
  12. now that we know Thad Lewis is starting I actually feel even better. Your right EBall. Just like I said, the defense is going to be healthiest they've been all year going into these games while EJ is out. I know the reports are EJ is out anywhere from 4-8 weeks but I think he misses 4 games at most. Possibly only 3. Didnt Freddy just play on a similar injury? Of course there's different levels of injury but in thinking its more precaution than anything that yiu don't want to make it worse for your future franchise QB. Regardless of what Cincy does on defense this team should be able to run the ball. They've shown that ability all year and against better defenses in the Jers, Ravens, and Browns. Regardless of who starts at QB (Lewis, Tuel, White, Dixon) they are all NFL QBs. That part is not arguable. They are in the league. It's about as silly as calling Stevie "not a number 1" when in fact he IS OUR number 1. And because of the fact that they are all NFL QBs they can make throws. They can play. Are we to believe they won't pass for 25 yards all game? That would just be ridiculous. It's almost Harder to not throw for at least 100 than it would be to throw for 450. As it stands, Lewis is the starter this week and he's got the most experience in this team with our without White. He actually knows the playbook and has started a game in the past. He put up 200+ yards, had a TD, and an Int. if that's the case this week against the Bengals, ill take that all day and think we get a win. That's game management at its finest. Let the defense do what it does and not lose the game from your QB.
  13. sounds about right. Not sure if they love Tuel to the PS tho. Not sure if they want to go into a game this week with Lewis starting and White as the backup.
  14. Just curious. Can anyone tell me if you can cut an injured player?
  15. its the best part of the season for the doom and gloomers. Not quite sure anyone bothers to watch this team anymore if all they do is complain. So with that, I'm out of this conversation. Fwiw, I'm actually pretty pleased with Pat White. Only guy I wanted more would have been Freeman but that was slim at best. As it stands, I doubt White plays at all for us. Tuel is going to come out this week and have a 175 yards, 1 TD, 1 Int, and the defense holds them so that we can win. 24-17.
  16. i think as fans we need to think more Big Ben and less at Cam Newton when looking at EJ. He's not going to be the guy scrambling all over the field every game. He is however the big tall beefy QB that is hard to get down and can make moves with his feet. Lets just hope that he makes it in 5 weeks and that means 4 games at most. ok. Bye bye. See you in April.
