  1. The Bills knew about the allegations before Araiza won the job. The plaintiff's lawyer called them to give them the heads up. They never got back to him. Araiza's lawyer told them weeks before (because his client, who he told to inform the Bills himself 6 weeks prior, didn't do). Their crack team of sleuths didn't even know about the allegations until the end of July...when the plaintiff's lawyer told the team counsel, yet 2 teams told the AP they knew of allegations back before the draft. It took the SPD something like 135 days to investigate and hand the case to the DA, yet the Bills did all that in, what, a week? No--they mainly relied on what Araiza's lawyers team reported. But it sure didn't look like the detective squad did NOT prepare the Bills for what as in that lawsuit, or they wouldn't have cut him---why wouldn't they just ride out the storm? They could just say, "yeah, our investigators had already informed of us of every detail in that suit and we don't believe any of it is true. Matt is one of us, he stays, an innocent Punter?" Optics? You have declared him an innocent man, what's wrong with those optics? How does a pending civil suit make him untouchable until after the suit is over? Certainly a jury of your peers will reaffirm his innocence in all this, so why wait half a season to sign him?
  2. i didn’t say heat stroke can’t be lethal. I simply asked you who got heat stroke in the NFL this year.
  3. Who got heat stroke?
  4. Don't need to, I just did. Seeing as the DA didn't get the case for months after the Bills drafted the guy, there's little chance their crack detective squad would have "cleared" him before the draft. My guess is that the FO and at least Kim Pegula would have said.."for a Punter?, forget it". The suit was filed because the SDPD wouldn't turn over the case to the DA. Csse is filed and presto--DA gets the file. Why not sign him now? The allegations are bogus right?
  5. Wait, I heard his own home stadium is actually deadly to play in. Players have nearly almost possibly died there.
  6. His lawyer has lied on multiple occasions: about Araiza having told the Bills about the suit and about the Araiza's having him contact the plaintiff's lawyer about how much money she wanted to make it go away----before the suit was filed. Araiza's name came up within days of the party and the story was spread all over campus. Soon after SDPD began their investigation. Maybe Araiza was the only one on campus who didn't know he was the person named, right? If he's not in the video he's not in it. I would think such a video would have led to charges for those in it however
  7. there was no contract before he was signed. True, it was his prerogative to hide both of these facts, even after he signed. Therefore he shouldn’t be surprised or disappointed at the consequences of those choices. Unless he’s a complete moron, he had to know how this was doomed to end. if he had been honest with the team—at least AFTER they drafted him, there’s the slimmest chance they would have stashed him somehow until the DA decided on charges. But he didn’t. In the end, he was too stupid to kept around and clearly not worth the embarrassment tye Bills endured over him.
  8. Obviously, if Araiza had been honest, he would have alerted the Bills an allegation of sexual assault/gang rape (not just "statutory rape"--you keep forgetting this, crazy right?!) had been made against their draftee 6 months prior. And he would have alerted them of a law suit filed against him after they drafted him---which they had to find out about after the plaintiff's lawyer called the Bills. He hid all of this--for obvious reasons. Maybe he was thinking the Bills would be cool with all of this, that he was such a great asset as a Punter, that they wouldn't mind catching the immense heat he absolutely had to know he was going to subject them to due to his choices. A great man, to be sure.
  9. Being "as fair as possible" is just concluding "she's a lying slut". I get it...
  10. If the Bills had made it to a single SB over that time span, your point about how the scouts helped build those 3 teams might make a tiny bit of sense. Also, they did pick WRs, not some bum O-lineman. They may not have hit on those particular pocks, but that's ok......because they still won SBs. Come on... Yeah, 3 years later, the Bills have a ton of needs on Offense. WR is definitely 1. O-line too. Maybe Beane and his scouts will have an epiphany. Or maybe they will just grab a few more AJ Epensa's, Boogie Bashams, etc....
  11. Zero? This is what they said? She's a lying slut therefore has zero credibility? Link? Anyway, you're not giving him "the benefit of the doubt", you and your bro doc are declaring actually innocent, without a doubt. Is there a "statutory rape kit"? Is that what was administered? Anyway, the only reason he was not charged with statutory rape it that it is his good fortune to live in a state that allows for a "hey, she told me she was of age!!" defense. For a guy with nothing to worry about, wouldn't his lawyer reach out for a settlement amount at the beginning of August? If this was just a shakedown, why did this happen (from texts released by the plaintiff's lawyer)? "Armstrong then says that Araiza’s parents had inquired about the monetary amount Gilleon's client wanted and warns that if Gilleon “keeps calling the Bills and he gets cut, there will be no money to get.”
  12. How unusual is that? Probably not very. As for Araiza, in a pretext phone call, her first admitted having sex with her (telling her he may have given her chlamydia, even), then, later in the call he lied and said "I don't remember anything that happened that night". There's your boy... DA doesn't charge or not charge based on your "common sense"---your conclusion is that the DA and the cops got together, reviewed al the evidence and concluded she's just a "you lying slut"? look at you!
  13. Why would I fire scouts who are wearing their shiny new SB rings in the meeting? The Chiefs and Eagles have both won SBs since 2017 and both lost a lot of guys, rebuilt parts of their teams, and got back to the SB this past season. Are you really pointing out that their scouts are lacking because they (of all teams!) passed on Metcalf? Come on...go back and edit your post! Anyway, no one was looking at a beast like Metcalf for his "agility". And they Bills were desperate for WR help--actually ANY skill position help--after finishing the 2018 season with Foster/Benjamin/Croom/Zay Jones as receivers. Their solution? Bring in tail-end-career 2nd and 3rd options Beasley and Brown (hilariously, they would repeat this sad bit in a bizarre act of desperation this season!) , passing on Metcalf, Diontae Johnson, AJ Brown...guys at a desperately needed playmaker position, for an O-lineman. They compounded the error by taking a RB in the 3rd when they could have had their O-lineman in the second and a WR (McLaurin, for example). With 2 picks in the 3rd, they came away with Singletary and Knox. Look at al the WRs that came out of that draft. Slayton, Renfro. Beane mightily struggles to select Offensive skill players. He has always disregarded the WR position. He figures he struck gold with Josh Allen so, what's left to do?
  14. In California, he couldn't charge that is she is on tape lying about her age, doc. You already knew this. Why mention it? As you well know, the burden is on the DA, and as is true in 75% of such cases in that particular county, the DA didn't see a way to a clear win for the office so it didn't charge. You and I have no idea as to how they came to that decision, but they did--it has nothing to do with innocence. You know this. Do you conclude, given this data, that 75% of allegations of sexual assault in that county are determined by the DA to be simply fabrications against actually innocent defendants?
  15. So a concept which entered legal status over 100 years after the Constitution was signed means it’s “in the Constitution” (which you “read in elementary school”). Lol, yeah, that’s what I figured…
  16. YES! Washington is the exact place where Eric can prove the world that HE is the real genius behind the Chief's Offense. lol, this s going to be awesome. Paired with "Riverboat Ron!" and QB2 or QB3 dudes. What could go wrong?
  17. That's how it's supposed to work....champions have even mediocre units step up in the playoffs
  18. Obviously, I have no idea what he's capable of, so I would not say he's actually innocent or guilty-- I (you, all of us) have no basis for such a declaration--especially regarding his involvement (or not) in a gang rape. You have said he's innocent, based on how you feel about all this. Ok... I'm pretty sure the trouble she went to the cops about was not that he had sex with a 17 year old, but was sexually assaulted. Obviously if all that happened was consensual sex against the outside wall off the house, this would never have been a story. I'm sure there is no shortage of underage of underage HS kids hooking up with college athletes at college parties all over the country ("reprehensible", I know!!!). So if she lied about her age to get with a college football star, then everything else has to be a lie? And if she added a year to her age, she has to be lying about being gang raped by a bunch of players? Why should that always follow? How does that work?
  19. Took you a long time to look that up...nice try, but no. it's not in there either. all provided for more protections for the accused, but none presumed innocence. That phrase was given birth (in terms of legal precedence by the Supreme Court) in a landmark case Coffin v US in 1894. Keep looking!
  20. He had one punt...in preseason game 1, against scrubs. It was a touchback. Martin is the perfect Punter for the Bills. 20th in % inside the 20 and 12th in net yards. Only punted 45 times.
  21. His side is "I didn't do it". He has had plenty of time to elaborate publicly on that. "Bills Mafia Babes" didn't create the accusations, they responded to them. They said "if they are false, go on with your business. If they are true, cut him immediately". There you go. Obviously the more serious of the allegations.... Is it "unbelievable" because the Matt Araiza you know would never even consider such an act? Not telling the Bills is "reprehensible"--they almost certainly would NOT have drafted him had they known. He hid it, thus forcing them to take massive heat, looking foolish for the entire, albeit brief, period this kid was on the team. It was all avoidable. Yes, teams have Punters----a position so valuable that every team hopes in every game to use as little as possible. Good point!
  22. Atlanta owner likes stars? Had to tell---he's had 2 in the last 10 years. Also, they went 3-6 down the stretch, only put 2 wins together in the final 2 games and the receiver corps is Pitts (if he can go) and Drake London. Jackson had as good in Balt. Brady won't be in the booth next season. The NYC media gives "tons of attention" to any QB on the Jets.
  23. Cool! tell us where in the (US) Constitution, the words "innocent until proven guilty" appear. You probably have the whole document memorized from that elementary school that gave birth to your penchant for Constitutional scholarship. Let's hear it---"school" us.
