    Do star coaches who return to the NFL after being out for an extended period of time have the same degree of success? Or has the game passed them by such that they are not effective?

    Besides Mallett, have the Pats drafted a QB with a 2nd or 3rd round pick in recent times? It seems like a waste to be using a high pick that can help plug glaring talent holes on a QB crapshoot.

    So he looked good against guys that probably are not in the NFL right now . That is not a good enough sample to say he is better than the Bills current QB roster.

    Nix has definitely added talent to the team so I am at least neutral . Gailey and staff have not made effective use of the talent at this point.

    Weren't the Saints blitzing most of the night? I would think Vick and the coaches have some responsibility in recognizing that and then adjusting to it. Can't blame everything on the line.

    Phil Simms, Jeff Hostetler, Trent Dilfer, Rex Grossman, Brad Johnson... Weren't these all pedestrian or game manager type QBs that either won or went to Superbowls in relatively recent times? Your premise that you cannot be a successful team without an elite QB seems to be a bit off.

    I actually don't understand why folks seems to think that Jim Kelly will be able to buy a football team. Most of his business ventures have flopped. Does he have credibility left such that he would get backers willing to pony up funds to support what will likely be a $1 Billion purchase?

    Well JP did win a UFL championship with the Las Vegas Locos and by all accounts of his fans on this board throws a really pretty deep ball. That may merit some consideration. Schaub and Rivers don't have a UFL championship to their name

    Darius had a good empire during his time . Of course it was over 2000 years ago lol. Marcell Dareus is still young and doesn't have the players or coaching scheme that Watt has around him now.

    Wasn't Buddy Nix named as Bills GM end of Dec 2009? Ryan Fitzpatrick was signed during the Jauron era in early 2009. So how did Buddy Nix pick up Fitz?

    I watched that now infamous game. Cedric Benson had a few nice runs. But for a lot of the game he went nowhere or lost yards. Hence his awesome game totals of 17 rushes for 45 yards. This adds up to 2.6 ypc. That is indeed impressive--in terms of run futility lol.

    Do QBs single handedly win games? What are defensive and special team players used for?

    Do teams actually give up such picks that high for the big name receivers? The Ravens gave up a 3rd and 4th for Boldin? And the Bears gave up 2 3rd rounders for Marshall? Giving up a 2nd rounder on a team that still has many holes does not seem to be a good deal.

    This is a key point that a lot of people fail to consider. Two decades have past since the Bills glory days. Aren't the players of today bigger , stronger , and faster? The 1990 Bills , great as they were back then, would likely have some physical matchup problems against the elite teams of today.

    Mike Shanahan's record in Washington : 14-25. Not that I support Gailey's regime, but that should help put some things in perspective.
