  1. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/13897416/nfl-power-rankings-start-of-a-silverblack-revival This hurts as I generally agree with his opinions. Dead last in the league? How far do the Bills jump after outclassing the fish???
  2. Because the worst offensive line and worst linebackers in the league trump RB's and DB's Seriously? You really think Miami in any way believed Kelly wasn't going to play? These coaches game plan everything. Miami has a gameplan if Roscoe Parrish has to play emergency QB. They have a game plan if the toilets don't work. Do you think for a moment there is anything that the Bills 3-4 defense could surprise the Dolphins with? The only surprise would be if we played with 10 guys on the field.
  3. Did you watch the post game interview? Moore was the same height in cleats as the female ESPN sideline reporter. He describes himself as a 6 ft pocket passer which means he is 5-10. He will be luck to be drafted after he is measured at the combine. I am in no way saying he can't play at the next level but he will be lucky to get drafted.
  4. According to Sportsline.com he has been very good in camp. The FO was widely criticized for taking Troup instead of Clausen or Cody. Some had Cam Thomas ahead of him who ultimately went in the 5th to San Diego. Anyone know how Dan Williams is doing in Arizona? Cody in Baltimore? Thomas? Troup could have as big or bigger impact on the defense as Spiller will on the offense. I wonder when they switch to a 4-3 if they will play Troup and Williams at DT and leave Stroud at end or move him inside? They play 4 down lineman when they switch to a nickel and dime package. Again it will be interesting to see who lines up where. Will Maybin stay at OLB in the nickel or put his hand on the ground as a DE? I thought that is what Schobel would have done. Perhaps Kelsay goes to the DE position and Maybin rushes from the OLB spot. I have seen Demarcus Ware do both. Thoughts?
  5. Check facts before posting... As everyone has pointed out above neither was eligible and frankly neither were good enough even for the PS.
  6. Nix and Gailey said the cupboard was not bare. If he wins 8 games and the offense produces points without TO it will be another indictment of how inept DJ was as a HC and game manager.
  7. Probably looking at film on all the other QB's they passed on in the draft to see if any of them look better than Brown. Max Hall was anointed by Peter King as the next great thing because he threw for a tone of yards and TD's at BYU. So did Ty Detmer. So did Steve Young. Wonder which one he will turn out to be closer to. I also wonder if Detmer's relatively unremarkable but somewhat long journeyman NFL career affected Hall's status.
  8. I doubt Dick Jauron would gamble his last HC chance by moving a slow fat RT to LT, cut him a week before the season, elevate Karl Malone's son to LT, replace a poor choice of an OC one week before the season with an even worse choice, draft a pass rusher too young and inexperienced to make an impact, or play a 7th round pick too small to play in the NFL the majority of the season at OLB. Yeah coaches never make bad decisions....
  9. Is there any more biased columnist that covers the NFL? In one MMQB column he praises Bill Parcells for realizing he whiffed on 2009 2nd and 3rd round picks by cutting them only a year later. States Tom Brady faced the best NFL pass defenses since Frank Gifford played QB. And best of the best it was Hank Baskett's fault the Colts lost the SB and it was Reggie Wayne's poor route running that caused Manning to throw the pick six. Let's see.. Praised Brady and gave a pass to both Parcells and Manning. Can't wait for what excuse he writes for Parcells when the Bills beat the Fish Sunday. Probably will blame the HC for screwing up Parcells game plan.
  10. But Poz is a high motor guy? Has any high motor guy ever succeeded in the NFL.
  11. Interesting. Yet Jeff Saturday is widely regarded to be the most important piece of the Indianapolis line and I would say Kent Hull was more important than Jim Ritcher. As a counter Steve Hutchison was much more important to Seattle than their center as was Larry Allen to the Cowboys. Maybe it is wise to have really good players at multiple positions.
  12. I bet they add Troy Smith after the first week and part ways with Brohm This way Smith's contract is not guaranteed. Maybe they take a flyer on Lefavour(sp?)or another for the PS.
  13. So far it is a bit scary. Yes the top of the draft looks good. But with so many holes to fill there looks to be too many misses in the middle/bottom. Easel WRY - IR. Could have come back mid year but was so raw Gaile decided to keep two Ufa's instead. Wang OT - Not being placed on the PUP is an encouraging sign. Hopefully he gets some reps in game situations during blowouts and maybe works himself into the line-up by the end of the year. More likely they will add another veteran tackle and Wang is inactive the better part of the year. Moats LB - Special teams at best. Batten LB - IR. Didn't show much in camp before the injury. Brown QB - couldn't even make the PS Calloway G - on a team with as little o-line depth as the Bills he couldn't even make it to the last cut day and is not on the PS That is pretty poor for a team with few legitimate starters let alone back-ups. If Nelson becomes a legit WR that will make up for some of these misses.
  14. None of us know what Modrak has said about any of the draft picks. I personally think it was Donahoe on an ego trip when he traded up for McGahee(although he probably knew about Travis Henry's off field stuff) and taking Roscoe while neglecting both lines. One day it will come out just how much authority DJ and Marv had. Even if Marv was a figurehead, it was on his watch that this franchise sank back to the depths of the mid 80's. If Modrak is/was as incompetent as this board thinks there is no way Nix or RW keep him this long. Unless he has pictures of RW....
  15. No one in Buffalo thought Pat Williams would last this long nor that he was worth the money Minnesota paid for him. Letting him walk and Will Wolford walk are the two biggest FA losses in the history of the franchise. The league let the Colts screw the Bills on the Wolford deal. The Bills should have locked him up long before it got to that point.
  16. What he said. The numbers just don't make sense. Everyone has talked about trading Lynch. Trade Whitner to Baltimore or some other team in need of a safety. Cut one of the Harris' and add an OT today.
  17. By all accounts McCargo has looked decent at DE and Ellis capable at strong side OLB. It is laughable that these guys are only on the team after being forced to switch positions. A first round (also gave up an extra 3rd round pick to move up) and a third round pick should be core starters. Not back-ups at new positions. Levy doomed this franchise for years.
  18. I'll fess up.. 1. I though Brohm would be cut. I still think there is a chance. 2. I predicted Lynch would start game 1. By default he will. Whether he would have beaten out Freddie if neither had been injured who knows. 3. I predicted Roscoe would be a bigger part of the offense. 4. I said Trent would be the QB the moment they passed on Clausen. 5. I didn't think they would keep Ellison. 6. I though McElvin would have reclaimed the starting CB spot. Maybe by the end of the year. We tend to forget he has only dressed for about 17 NFL games which is not much for a CB. 7. I thought they were going to trade an extra DB for Troy Smith. Now they might get him for nothing. 8. I thought Hardy was going to be on the squad. I didn't even know who David Nelson was nor Donald Jones. 9. I thought Chad Jackson was going to be kept for the simple fact he had more experience then some of the other WR's. 10. I secretly thought but never posted that Kyle Williams would be traded to a 4-3 team. There is no way he can play NT. I would not be surprised if the only time he is on the field is when they switch to a 4-3 front. 11. I posted Whitner would win back the SS spot. I am not sure that is a good thing after watching the last two games. I wouldn't be surprised if he was sent packing in a trade for a lineman along with a draft pick. Wilson seemed like one of those nightmare DJ guys like Ellison but it just looks like he makes more plays. 12. I predict Maybin will have an impact this year. I think it will come around the bye week. I think it will take him a solid month to get used to OLB in the NFL. After that look for a two sack break out game - maybe against Jax at home.
  19. Jansen would be a very good addition. He likely would take over the RT spot in three weeks. Hartwig woul be a great back-up C and may in fact be an upgrade over Hangman.
  20. Can someone explain this to me? I know the safeties can play ST's. I have to believe once Byrd is healthy to play one of the Harris' is cut and a lineman is signed. Two of the three back-up offensive lineman have never played in the NFL. Wang has barely even practiced yet. I just don't see a reason to keep Brohm. I hope they sign Brown to the PS and jettison Brohm. No one else is going to sign him and if either Trent or Fitz gets injured they can pick him up mid-season. This would make room for another lineman. Since Wood can back-up the C position I would sign two tackles and bring Calloway back to the PS to play G. I would also go after TJ Houshmandzadeh(there is no salary downside). To make room I would finally put an end to Ellison's career in Buffalo. The WR corps is just too inexperienced and gets no help from the TE position.
  21. I doubt there is little differnece between a 6th round pick and an UDFA in terms of talent. In fact it was not long ago when the draft had 12 rounds and all these UDFA's would be late round picks. The only difference is teams get to fill out the back-ups and project players like a college recruitment instead of a draft process and day two of the draft doesn't linger on for 12 hours.
  22. Brohm still may be cut. Who wouldn't take Leinart over Fitz or Brohm?
