  1. In the AFC? With Sanders, Reed, and Polamalu just to name a few? Even if he plays his arss off it aint going to happen...
  2. The Bills had a Top 5 entire defense not too long ago let alone one position group. Then DJ came in and said small players work best in the NFL.... And that's all she wrote to our defense...
  3. If not ProBowlers at least the Bills had two players make golf magazines best NFL golfers. Apparenlty Kyle Williams and Geoff Hangartner are some of the best at their respective positions. Word is Trent is pretty good as well but Tony Romo is basically a scratch golfer and was chosen at QB. Maybe DJ and Marv were trying to build the best golf team.....
  4. He was doing the job of a LB? That is what many SS's do. Some even win NFL Defensive MVP for doing it, ie. Bob Sanders. The unfortunate thing is that Ellison was starting at LB and the depth was so bad they had to move Scott to LB.
  5. Not a bad idea. If Reggie Corner or Youboty are showing anything in camp maybe Florence could be moved with a draft pick. If Whitner is lighting it up in camp maybe Wilson or Scott could be moved as an alternative.
  6. Easier said than done. When a RB like Lendale White can be picked off the scrap heap it is going to take a special set of circumstances/injuries to create an opportunity to get anything of value for Lynch. His best value is playing his way up the depth chart which BTW will happen. I think he will be the starter week 1. Had Spiller been signed by the time Denver's RB's got banged up maybe a panic deal could have been made. Again at this point barring a major injury to a playoff caliber team Lynch isn't going anywhere except the starting line-up in Buffalo.
  7. I think Whitner has a point regarding about the Tampa 2 not being the best fit for him. http://www.democratandchronicle.com/articl...S03/8080361/tbd This is yet another indictment on DJ along with many others - the worst being allowing Keith Ellison to play in the NFL. Looking back I think Whitner has made many more plays around the line of scrimmage than in coverage. Now maybe that is an indictment of Whitner's lack of coverage skills. Much like Trent the coaching change should be refreshing for Whitner but also is his last chance to make an impact other than being a career back-up. If he can't beat out Wilson for the job with a new staff he will be done as a starter in the NFL. I am hoping he can be a bit of a terror on blitz packages and around the line of scrimmage. With Byrd and the quite frankly outstanding group of corners the Bills have there should be plenty of opportunity for the SS to be in the action around the line os scrimmage and in the backfield. As an aside, I have given Marv a ton of crap for his performance as GM. Wouldn't it be odd/sad if the players he drafted blossomed under a new coach especially an old southern boy instead of his Ivy league bust HC choice.
  8. Bill Walsh also had "chemo brain". It's a real problem. The brain isn't the same after chemo let alone the his age. Maybe he wasn't the same evaluator of talent as he was in the 1980's. Still want Trent to succeed but just because Bill Walsh said he was good aint going to make it so..
  9. Do you recall the Colts leaving in the middle of the night? The Browns moving to Baltimore? These things basically happened in the blink of an eye. Yes the Cardinals move to Pheonix and the Rams to St. Louis took a decent length of time. But with a lockout looming there may not even be time to say good bye. The franchise may simply fade away.....
  10. Overrated. Maybe this is a function of my age, I turn 40 in November; but he is simply annoying. What was borderline entertaining in the past is now pandering and sophomoric at the same time. He is at his worst at the draft when he has more time to listen to himself talk. Again maybe this is my age, but I stopped watching any of the pre-game shows long ago and simply watch Sunday Ticket on TiVo 30 minutes behind so I can FF through the commercials and commentary.
  11. Everyone knows the Steelers were handed that game. He didn't even mention the blown offensive pass interference call against the Seahawks in the first quarter. I emailed his fatness, Peter King, who defended the ridiculous calls after the game. I am very curious if the rotund one will mention this issue in his Monday Morning QB column.
  12. Guys with name recognition - Ellison, Kelsay, Fitz, McCargo, Ellis, Stupar, Chambers All the FB's I think it is safe to say the DB's are pretty set (Wilson, Byrd, Whitner, Scott, McGee, McKelvin, Florence, and Corner) and it will just come down to whether they keep an extra safety or an extra corner. My bet is they keep Lankster and Youbouty and go with the four listed safeties. All the rest are just training camp bodies. That's 10 db's. I think they had 11 last year. My guess is they keep an extra LB this year especially with the move to a 3-4.
  13. Sullivan is retarded. He quotes himself in his own articles and repeats the same themes over and over.
  14. Wasn't being sarcastic at all. I could care less about the fact Marv went to Harvard. Maybe if he went to Georgia or any other party school and drank during college he would know that playing a SB hungover is not conducive to winning.
  15. Hmmm pretty sure he had his own HOF QB throwing to him for the majority of his career.
  16. And how did Andre look in his last three years in Buffalo and training camp in Denver? Slow old and pathetic. His record breaking catch in his own words wasn't even a pattern. I still believe he should be in the HOF over Monk, Brown, and Irvin but Randy Moss is way better, Carter was significantly better, and obviously Rice was in a league of his own.
  17. Amen brother. How did he fool the sportwriters to get into the HOF? Reed, Tasker, and maybe Hull should have all gotten in before he did.
  18. Who gives a shAt about inspiration? Chan's legacy will be determined by whether he can develop a current or future QB. Marv's BS quote about talent without character is laughable now. Without talent, character and inspiration don't mean squat. Thanx in no short order to Marv's incompetence the Bills lost four SB's (all the inspiration in the world couldn't help Talley tackle anyone) and he is on the short list for worst GM tenures in history.
  19. I thought two a days and contact were supposed to make the team tougher and avoid injuries???? Wait you mean all the stuff written on message boards isn't true????
  20. Imagine if Trent becomes as good as say a Matt Ryan. Is that good enough to pass on a QB in the first round next year? I would say so. Even if Bell or Meredith develop, it is stil likely one of them won't leaving a hole at one of the tackle spots. If Trent becomes above average I would say they should draft OL. For that matter WR or another dynamic pass rusher could be of more instant impact. I just don't want to be sitting here next year wondering if Ryan Mallet, Jake Locher, or Andrew Luck can make the jump from College to the Pros.
  21. Carter is almost in the league of Jerry Rice. Reed is barely better than Art Monk.
  22. How many classy moves have the Patriots, Steelers, and Colts made lately? Pats cut Lawyer Milloy, trade away Veneteri, Steelers refuse to pay and ultimately cut Faneca. Those franchises just win. Forget the classy moves and win a few games.
  23. And what proof do you have of this? Look I am all in favor of some hitting. However, it sounds great on paper but there is no correlation between lack of hitting in practice and injuries. Years of drafting small players in a big man's game is the most likely reason for all the injuries. It's all fun and games until a starter blows out a knee blocking a second or third strind DE just trying to make the team....
