One LT(Wang) and one LB(Batten) gone already. Wang will now miss considerabe reps virtually assuring he will not be the back-up LT. Batten may be gone longer and if he ends up on IR the team may lose a potential special teams player. All those practices in pads were supposed to make the team tougher and less injury prone I thought???????

The he starts at OLB. Which BTW will hapen after the first preseason game.

Bills moving forward without Schobel
sharper802 replied to Lurker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
BS They are just telling schobel they aren't cutting him. He is going to have to retire to not play. Thus he gets no money and the Bills still retain his rights. He will be in camp the same week Favre reports and will be the starting OLB. -
Fitzpatrick states he can throw 73 yards

For all you Maybin can't beat OT's people let me clue you in on something. The OLB often will be matched against a TE, H-back, or simply a RB. Yes there will be times where he will be just outside the tackle's shoulder but there will be many times when he won't. This is the beauty of the 3-4. As pointed out above if he takes the tackle wide then the ILB or SS can shoot the gap that is created. If the DL shifts then the DE will engage the tackle forcing a RB to pick Maybin up. -
Fair enough. Then get the Spiller deal done, get him in camp, and see if you can rob the Broncos. Please don't get me wrong. I like Lynch and think he will be better than Freddie. However if you can trade a RB with baggage for an OL or second round pick I say do it.

Star athlete treats his wife like crap then finds Jesus. YAWN. Substitute dogs or Budha if you want to and it is the same story over and over. -
Both Moreno and Buckhalter are hurt. As much as I like Lynch, Josh McDaniels is retarded and likely would be tricked into a bad trade(ie. see trading up for Tebow). Now is the time to move Lynch and get decent value in return - perhaps a starting tackle or next years second round pick if they still have one. The only downside would be Spiller's agent would have more leverage. Still this is an opportunity to take advantage of another team. Get er done Buddy.

It seems a foregone conclusion Trent is the starter now. I think all you Brohm fans are going to be quite disappointed in about three weeks. I think he survives the first round of cuts just to keep Trent's arm fresh.

Technical term is called a pulmonary embolism. It is the 5th leading cause of death in US. Treatment involves warfarin(blood thinner) for 6-12 months making contact sports impossible.

One of our best defensive players not starting
sharper802 replied to thebillsbiz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Aint going to happen. Schobel shows up to camp just prior to first Pre-Season game and starts at OLB opposite Maybin. If the rookie LB's perform well(especially on ST's as Mitchell won't be asked to do that) Mitchell may be a surprise early cut to give the veteran a chance to sign elsewhere. His best chance to stick is the fact Ellison sucks and can only play OLB. Hopefully he finally gets cut and Mitchell serves as veteran back-up for both ILB and OLB. -
Schobel leaning more towards coming back...

It's a matter of physics. P(momentum)=M(mass)V(velocity). 5 offensive lineman and a TE against 3 down lineman. If you want your LB's to be able to attack the down lineman need to occupy space and blockers. -

3-4 DE's need to be 275-300lbs. He will play OLB in a 3-4. The Bills are actually not bad at DE with Spencer Johnson, Stroud, Dwan Edwards(FA from Baltimore), and Carrington(rookie third round). And that doesn't even include McCargo who could surprise but will most likely not make the team. -

What possible medical evidence can you give that missing OTA's makes him more likely to get injured???? When has Schobel ever been accused of showing up out of shape? The only thing he can be accused of is being too small to play DE and that has nothing to do with training camp or OTA's. Schobel will return during camp and will be the starting OLB. -

Which current Bill wouldn't want a trade? -
Bills' defense has a new look for 2010
sharper802 replied to Skoobydum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. The decision to switch to the 3-4 may have ultimately cost the Bills a chance to draft Clausen. Time will tell if Troup becomes a dominant NT(often takes years to develop) or if Clausen becomes a ProBowl QB. -

Unless the late 90's team played a team with a good offensive line. In which case they got run over and lost four straight SB's. -
Marv Levy - yeah I said it He has to be the most overrated coach of all time. I can not believe he is in the HOF and Andre Reed is not. Ted Marchibroda deserves to be in the HOF more than Levy does. Add on the complete destruction of the franchise he orchestrated as GM and he is hands down my least favorite Bill of all time. A better prepared and better coached team would have been added to the list of dynasties including the 49ers, Steelers, Cowboys, and subsequently the Patriots(makes me want to puke).

The Bills had a top five 4-3 defense with Sam Adams and Pat Williams at the DT's and Spikes at LB. Maybe they should get better players and not blame the system or the coaches????? -

I beg to differ! Tutan Reyes -
I had hopes for McCargo as well as a 3 technique DT. Maybe his back is worse than anyone knows.

Anyone heard anything about these high draft pick busts? My guess is both are in the first round of cuts especially if Schobel returns. Anyone heard anything good about either from the OTA's?
