  1. Drew Brees was not a first rounder so the percentage is less than 50. I can't spell - I will give you that one Thanx for adding to my point that the great QB of your team does not need to be drafted. Wolfe had Mark Brunell, Matt Hasselbeck, and Kurt Warner at one time or another along with Farve. I would take any of those three over half over the first rounders starting today.
  2. Best thing we have going for us is I doubt Chan has called a single play that will be called against Miami. They might have better luck looking at KC tape than ours.
  3. Good call - I agree. I was going to originally put Green but with Wang getting hurt I think they will keep him. If Meredith had shown something I think he might have gotten the start at RT or if Wood was 100% maybe they take a chance on less experience at RT. Mitchell is a possibility too. I just think Kelsay brings so little else to the team. If he had been a decent pass rusher like Schobel one could see him moving back and forth from OLB/DE if the defense switches back and forth in the game. Now if that happens I would bet it would be Ellis or McCargo getting those reps at DE.
  4. To whom does he look like a good QB? Obvioulsy not to a seasoned coach who has developed many other QB's. Oh by the way 31 other teams also took a pass. I would take their judegement over the posters here.
  5. Pass. Give Parish/Hardy/Johnson one more year under a real coach.
  6. Kelsay - not much of surprise cut on this board but he has started all the pre-season games. He doesn't offer anything for special teams. I think he will be cut. P.S. Brohm no longer counts....
  7. So less than half of the QB's are first rounders. Thanx for pointing that out and proving my point further. What you fail to realize is you could draft a QB every year in the later rounds like Green Bay did under Ron Wolfe and have a better chance of finding the great one instead of drafting one QB in the first round and hoping he pans out in the next 3-5 years. As you and others have pointed out, it is a numbers game and the numbers favor drafting them lower and more often. The same consensus that ranked Ryan Leaf, Jamarcus Russel, Heath Shuler, Tim Couch, Akili Smith, Joey Harrington, JP Losman......... It's more than numbers. It is what happens to your franchise when you swing and miss. The JP Losman pick set the team back 3 years. What did Ryan Leaf and Tim Couch do to their teams for years? You can all hope and prey Jake Locher can turn into a pro-style QB. When he doesn't you can do it all over again three years and $60 milllion later.
  8. Keep all three. Lynch starts. Spiller is used in multiple ways. Freddy backs them both up. Nobody would trade for a 30 y/o RB. If someone would be dumb enough to give up a 2nd round pick or a starting LB/tackle for Lynch go for it but it won't happen. Barring a serious injury to a contender's RB there is no market for Lynch. His value is with this team.
  9. I haven't seen the game yet. How did Maybin look? Were these against starters or scrubs?
  10. You have the wrong RB there will be no room for. Freddy better hope he gets well soon or all he will see is 3 carries a game.... Remember DJ/PF chose Fitz or Edwards, Freddy over Marshawn, and Reed over Parish. I think there is a new sherrif in town who has a clue.... Edwards, Lynch, and Parish along with Evans/Spiller will be the core.
  11. Great list. Only half of all the starting QB's were first rounders(Brees was not a first rounder). Of those only about half are any good. Furthermore many were not high first round picks either where undoubtedly Buffalo will be choosing. Also some of the 1st round starters aren't playing for the team that drafted them. You have just as good of a chance to find your QB later and at less cost. I think I would take the top 6 non-first rounders over the top 6 first rounders!
  12. Brian Brohm will be cut this weekend. Had he come out after his Junior year he likely would have been the #1 pick of the entire draft. Three years later he will be out of the league. Just say no to QB's in round one. Next year Santa please bring me an offensive tackle or inside linebacker in round one.
  13. Is it really so hard for Bills fans to get it. Sanchez probably is no better than Edwards. However the difference between the Jets o-line and the Bills may be as wide as it gets in the NFL.
  14. I didn't say he just cathces balls in the flats. Welker is awesome. I hate to admit it as a Bills fan but the little sh#t gets open all the time. That being said go look at the you tube of his injury. He lines up on the right crosses the entire field and catches the ball between the numbers and the sideline. 2008 Reed had 56 rec for 597 yds. with one TD. Evans 63 rec for 1017 yds and 3 TD's. You are right Reed was the best WR on the team. In fact his 10 total TD's in 8 seasons with the Bills makes him HOF material.
  15. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/13815243/bills-camp-report-chan-the-man-that-can-help-qb-edwards-needs In the Bills team preview by Clark Judge Donte states other teams' players called our offense a joke. DJ could get the players to play hard(there is no doubt in my mind this was his best and perhaps only good attribute) but his and his coordinators offensive philosophy were just not on par with the rest of the NFL. Why DJ would allow his last shot at NFL HC success be determined by the likes of Steve Fairchild, Turk Schonert and AVP is beyond me. I am an admitted Trent apologist. I look for excuses for him no doubt. There are plenty on this team including the line but no more important than the lack of a quality experienced OC. If Trent can't get it in 8 games with Chan then I say f*&K you joboo and move on to Brohm, Brown, or hopefully Troy Smith in a mid season trade.
  16. Reed sucked his entire career. I defy you to find one play in his entire career where he broke a tackle? I also would take issue with your idea that Welker get's drilled by LB's over and over. Most of his passes are caught in the flat regardless of where he lines up and he is tackled by CB's.
  17. One has nothing to do with the other. Do you really need this explained to you???
  18. The free market would say the team is worth a hell of a lot more in LA or even Oklahoma City. The simple fact that the team is still in Buffalo proves the free market doesn't apply. Hell its an oligopoly by design so by it's very nature the free market doesn't apply.
  19. What would you be voting for? RW we are no longer going to your games - it's ok to take the team elsewhere??? And better yet since ticket revenue makes up only a tiny perecent of the overall revenue even that vote wouldn't matter.
  20. The question for me is what is difference between the college and Pro game. It is heresy not to defer in college. Therefore why not defer in the NFL. I guess turnovers and wind are a bigger part of the game. To me I would always defer unless there is a gale force wind. The next logical question is do you want the wind in the first quarter like Parcells did in the playoff runs with the Giants or do u want it in the 4th quarter to set up the game winning FG. Again I say defer and give me the ball right after the half and spring a new gadget play on the opponents defense they haven't seen before.
  21. It just highlights the failure of the front office to adequately address the TE position for nearly a decade now. Nelson was at best unporven with talent. Schouman was a 7th round pick not big enough to be in the NFL guy. Derek Fine was a slow white guy picked way higher than he should have been if at all. I will say it sounds as if the FO had a deal for Tony Gonzalez in place. That would have been a nice 1-3 year run allowing Nelson to develop. Just too many holes from years of poor drafintg to overcome. Seriously at this point wouldn't most people take Robert Royal. And please don't say what if Kevin Everett didn't get hurt. There was a reason he was covering kick-offs and not in the starting line-up. And oh by the way Stupar is freakin awful. Just like Keith Ellison is awful. Time to just say no to guys who aren't big enough to play in this league.
