Remaining 20 on NFL Top 100
papazoid replied to metzelaars_lives's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
very interesting......NFL Network may have got caught...... Donte Whitner, the safety who moved from the 49ers to the Browns in free agency this year, took to Twitter on Thursday night and accused NFL Network of "lies" for saying that players vote on the Top 100. When a fan expressed surprise that Whitner didn't make the Top 100 cut, Whitner answered, it's ok. . . . players don't vote on that. Nor does coaches. "No one in the 49ers locker room voted! None of my friends around the league voted! " Whitner wrote. http://profootballta...r-nfln-top-100/ this is off the NFLN website We have closed voting for the fans. You can now compare fan votes to the players' votes. Be sure to keep watching on Wednesday nights! http://top100.nfl.com/tracker -
Ranking 32 NFL QBs by tier We had 26 anonymous league insiders grade every NFL starting QB 27. EJ Manuel, Buffalo Bills (4.24 average rating) Manuel hasn't played enough to register with evaluators. Twenty-three voters placed him in the bottom two tiers. The two former GMs were higher on Manuel, placing him in the third tier. "I think he can beat you from the pocket and be an NFL passer and some of that is having studied him before the draft," one ex-GM said. "I still have some belief in him. EJ has some intangibles. He can process information that the Geno Smiths and Jake Lockers of the world cannot process well enough to be good from the pocket." A defensive coordinator whose team faced the Bills last season questioned Buffalo's approach. "They tried to run some Cam Newton stuff with him, but I think he is a pocket passer," the coordinator said. "What are they doing with him? He may be a three-minus, but I would give him a four right now." http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11156302/nfl-anonymous-league-insiders-rank-32-starting-quarterbacks-tiers

What if EJ Is Really Good and Stays Healthy?
papazoid replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What if EJ Is Really Good and Stays Healthy? if "really good" means plays like a Top 15 QB and "stays healthy" means starts 16 games.....then we will make the playoffs AND win at least one playoff game. -

good thing players do not embellish flops in the NBA, holding in the NFL, diving in the NHL and hit by pitch in MLB. -
NFL: Television vs Stadium Experience
papazoid replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i'm a 28 year, 10 seats season ticket holder. getting old sucks. I like watching at home much better than being at the stadium, although I still enjoy going very much. the most annoying thing at the game is (my age is really showing here) is that everyone now stands up for every single play the entire game. used to be just 3rd and 4th downs. second most annoying thing is trying to get home after the game in gridlock traffic. third most annoying is lack of video replays on every play. then there is always the occasional drunks, fights, profanity, spilled drinks, thrown food, people coming and going in your row, long security lines just to get in, $10 beers and overpriced food, lines at the restrooms, nasty weather, DWI concerns and now no Jills cheerleaders. face it, it's a young man's game, as all my son's and their friends wouldn't miss a minute of the stadium and tailgating experience. man cave, HDTV, surround sound, red zone channel, private restroom, adult beverages, wife in cheerleader outfit...life is good. -
Esmonde makes the case for all the small thinkers in life. it takes someone with VISION to build things. someone like Terry & Kim PEGULA SABRES = First Niagara Center = HARORCENTER = facilities used by college and amateur teams in addition to Pro Sports. BILLS = New Waterfront Stadium & Convention Center = ONE SENECA TOWER = facilities used by business, college, high schools and amateur sports.

The social media site Facebook, through one week, has already seen more people having interactions about the (WORLD CUP)tournament than it had for the Sochi Olympics, Super Bowl and Academy Awards combined. http://www.espnfc.us/fifa-world-cup/story/1907511/united-states-portugal-world-cup-match-draws-record-television-ratings -

i'll start... I bid $1,000. -
what are you waiting for ? are we going to learn something in training camp ? (very very little) maybe the Bills are going to add a Free Agent starter ? (unlikely) there may be only 2 or 3 starting jobs that are actually up for grabs (LG, SS , SLB) this team is already known. it's a playoff team if they had a Franchise QB and they miss the playoffs with EJ.

Soccer is still a long ways behind the "Big 4" in North American sports, but those days may be numbered. According to a recent poll by ESPN, soccer is the second most popular sport among Americans ages 12-24 and the most popular sport among Hispanics. http://www.sbnation.com/soccer/2012/3/3/2842696/soccer-popularity-american-youth-mls -

soccer's "OFFSIDES" rule in the NFL would be hilarious. -

let's hope the biggest difference is Sammy doesn't have 10 different QB's throwing him the ball during his career like Moulds did.

that was a Tom Brady reference...you know, a lucky 1 in 1,000 pick. my point is Manuel stunk last year and by my eyes, his upside will take him to mediocre (20th ranked) . based on his weaknesses, odds are very high he will never be a franchise qb. manuel is injury prone, he doesn't know how to slide or protect himself from contact when he runs. he got away with that in college because he was a superior athlete. he's not a superior athlete in the NFL. his accuracy is not good. I hope he proves me wrong.

Current Bills going to Hall of Fame?
papazoid replied to BuffalothruMyVeins's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
wishing: EJ actually has a chance: Mario Williams (he has 76 career sacks in 8 seasons and needs to get over 150, which barring injury is doable, bruce played 19 seasons, Mario is a physical freak). Sammy Watkins (i'm caught up in the hype). while a few others are deserving of consideration, absolutely none of the current Bills have a chance.
