the bills have previously stated a hundred times that whaley (responsible for the 53) and rex (responsible for who plays) each report directly to the Pegula's. i'm quite sure they will be just as clear for next season.

because the press feels entitled to know every nuance of the process...a timeline to the second of all involved........when did the first thought cross your mind that rex was going to be fired....whose counsel did you take and what did they advise......was everyone in full agreement.....when did you make a final decision....who knew ahead of time.

the "reporting" structure is fluid. whaley answered that several times by saying it will play itself out in the interview process and whatever is best for the TEAM. that's code for all options on table. not wanting to get boxed in for a cetain type of coach.....a first time head coach like Anthony lynn may not have a problem reporting directly to GM doug whaley where as a candidate like tom coughlin may want more power and direct line to the Pegula's.

Kouandro $1.2 mil and preston brown $0.75. so Sammy cost $5 mil/yr while the total cap hit of two 2's & two 3's is $4 mil/yr

ABSOLUTELY !!.....I think that they were trying establish that Whaley is "the man" going forward with the coaching search....but it looked awkward with just 1 person and whaley isn't a good public speaker.....they really needed Brandon's polish and corporate speak to support the GM , especially knowing he would come under heavy fire.

As Whaley evaded most of the questions and gave himself plausible deniability for anything that would reflect poorly on his performance, I almost felt sorry for him … almost. You know how uncomfortable you feel at a children’s pageant when a cast member struggles with a song or lines? rex knew this was his last season back in September. rex was fired before the end of the season because he insisted on playing TT after bills were eliminated from playoffs. it is not uncommon for a head coach to report directly to an owner. rex is motivated to win now. doug is motivated to look forward. pegs listened to both.....dougs view won....rex was fired.
