  1. Thats true, but the fact that there was no time on the clock is what helped ice the game for us.
  2. Ha. Ha. Ha. Thanks for the sarcasm. I don't think theres anything wrong with breaking down a big play in a game. I doubt tortured is the right word. I'm one of the optimists, I just think we got lucky on that play.
  3. Did come close to it?? Watch the video.. look at his reaction right after he realizes Chandler caught and tell me he didnt think he should have had it
  4. I dont know that Chandler took the ball away.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aN27XJOv8dM (1:53 mark) It seems to me that the ball just kind of fell into his hands
  5. Haha absolutely not.. I love Fitz as a player. I'm just worried that I'm going to get my hopes up and the bills are going to collapse likes its 2008. The fact that everyone is arguing against me is comforting though.. I cant help but play devils advocate
  6. A lot of the time fumbles are the result of the ball getting popped out by a lunging defender. Obviously I'm not talking about straight up strips. Teams like the Jets are lucky in the sense that other teams make mistakes when they play against them (see Romo). Same goes for the Pats. They always seem to be near the top of the league in turnover differential despite having one of the most porous defenses.. Sure CBs drop picks, but when the ball lands right in a guys breadbasket like that you expect him to catch it. You dont see brady throwing too many balls that CBs even have a chance at picking off. Thats more the point I was trying to make..
  7. I absolutely know what you're saying and I can definitely see the change in attitude with all the players, especially in Fitz. I'm just a little worried because we did that game with a little luck (McFadden fumble, 2 dropped picks) and while its nice to get the breaks sometimes, it would be even better to win without needing those breaks. I understand that good teams get the breaks, but they usually aren't the kind of breaks where CB's drop interceptions. Forcing fumbles and get deflections are "lucky" breaks that happen as a result of good aggressive play. I dont think anyone can argue that Fitz made a mistake on that throw, I just hope he doesnt do it again.
  8. That throw didnt bother me as much though. He threw it up in the corner to give his WR a chance, and while Jones made a nice play to break it up, he didn't make a play on the ball like he could have. The throw to Chandler was just a bad throw.. I'm sure Fitz wouldnt throw it again if he had another chance.
  9. I dont want to be a debby downer, but I just went back and watched the bills vs raiders highlights again (because its just that good). I couldn't help but remember the feeling I got when I thought Fitz had thrown a pick in the endzone when the ball somehow ended up in Chandlers hands.. All that CB had to do was make an average play on the ball and he would have had an easy pick, we would have lost the game, and everyone would be complaining about how Fitz doesnt have what it takes to win in the clutch. Is anyone else a little concerned by this?? I hope Fitz realizes the mistake he made and that he was fortunate, and learns from it. Fitz dodged a bullet on that play, but then again, he is the amish rifle..
  10. I thought Easley was going to break out this year.. damn injuries
  11. Brady is on pace to throw for almost 8,000 yards.. think he's going to do that? I'm not saying we shouldnt sign Stevie, I think we we should. But 2 games is a very small sample size
  12. I think you have to blitz smart. Pick your spots and use a blitz that you know will at least result in a hit. I wouldnt mind sending the house a couple plays on their first drive to just set an aggressive tone, but that doesnt mean we have to blitz on every down. The bills need to pick their spots and play mistake free football. That means not giving up the big play and not turning the ball over on offense. I think we'll be in the game if we can do that. I'M SO PUMPED FOR THIS GAME
  13. Running back's caught a ton of passes out of the backfield for San Diego last week against the pats.. I think the patriots D is willing to give up the 5 yard dink and dunks over the middle. I say we get spiller as many of those as possible.. he's bound to break one of them.
  14. I'm glad there's some evidence supporting Stevie.. but its tough to watch that knee buckle without cringing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92ifz2qqtm8 For some reason it reminded me of this..
  15. I think we can take comfort in the fact that blazing speed isnt a requirement for a stud WR. Some of the best receivers in history havent run great 40 times. Jerry Rice ran a 4.6 40 and he had a pretty good career. I think our WRs are fast enough to make big plays and thats all that really matters. I think we have a great group right now.
  16. Here's to the most consistent Dick in the league
  17. The idea is that by letting go of evans, one of these guys can step into a starting role and exceed his output. Why dont we give them a full season as starters before comparing their stats to Lee's. By letting go of Lee, you give these guys (both have less than 3 years in the league) a chance to grow and develop.
  18. I like The Amish Rifle.. but this may give that a run for its money
  19. I'm pretty sure 98.7% of the board just picked the bills to win.. Raiders 28 Bills 24 Someone had to do it right?
  20. It would have to be the opening day loss to the Pats.. Living in New England, I was the laughing stock for my friends all season long.
  21. I dont think that stat really says anything..
  22. I think its very important that the Bills find a way to score first in this one. Scoring first really helped us in KC and helped both our offense and defense relax and settle into a groove. The Raiders D-line impressed me on Monday, but I think they lack discipline and skill in the secondary. I think our best chance comes by spreading out the offense and going 4 wide. If we can do that and Fitz can get the ball out of his hands quickly I think we'll have a great shot to win on Sunday.
  23. I dont think this is fair. First of all, its only been one game. If the bills go through the rest of the season winless, you'll look back on this post embarrassed. I'm all for optimism but you cant go criticizing anyone too heavily after 1 game. Second of all, most of the opinion pieces I've read from local guys believe the bills will show improvement, but still be a 5 or 6 win team. So far that prediction still holds water.. you cant "whiff" on a season prediction after 1 week.
