I'm Polish on both sides. looked at the history of Poland since 1000 on Wiki. Numerous invasions every century. There was no Poland for the second half of the 19th century until the end of WW1. It was divided by Austria/Humiigary and Germany. That led to my being here. My mother's father was born in 1888 in Poland. He said around 1910 ,there were rumblings of another war. He said that there was no way he was going to fight for the Germans. He somehow got passage to the US and settled here. There was a lot of Polish jokes that finally died out when JPII was named pope in 1979.

My dad was stationed at Ford Island and Barbers Point on Oahu during the Korean War. Was on the crash crew but never had a plane come in with a problem during that time. Also spent some time on the USS Miller which was a sister ship to The Sullivans (the next # assigned) which is at the Buffalo Naval and Serviceman's Park.

I probably will never meet anyone in person, except maybe at Hammer's lot (Where I have met Rich and Mead 107) and Exiled in Illinois (had a beer with him at the Galleria Mall because we found out our parents worked together and his mom grew up down the street. The only thing that has upset me since 2014 was my mom dying. Even my facing a kidney transplant in the future doesn't upset me. Gets me a little anxious, but not upset enough to affect my health.
