In CA, the money grabbing is a tax every year on the value of your car. There is no inspection. A new car registration is around $500 for the average car (at least it was 10 years ago). It goes down every year and I had a 10 year old car and the registration was about $100. They also get you with a smog test for every car over 4 years old.

How old are you? I doubt you were even born yet when Nixon was president. I was in HS. I had US history in Social Studies then. The teacher had us watch the recap of the watergate hearings every evening (they were on while we were in school) and explained how the constitution applied towboat we saw.

Why relief? I never got any. I paid mine off in time. Don't go to such an expensive school or take a major that has no jobs. I went to UB. Just as good a school as ones costing 5-10 times more. -
Last July.

The 'wonder drug" is TPA (tissue plasminogen activator), a clot buster. I don't think I got that, but I know I got heparin, a blood thinner. I got injections for several days in my abdomen, which was covered I'n bruises at the injection site. Burned for a few seconds when injected as I remember it. Had a heart monitor on for over a week (had to scrub the adhesive from the leads off mt chest). Aphasia- your brain is working ok internally. You know exactly what you want to say but getting the words out of that spot and to your mouth is what frustrates you. (The "tip of the tongue " phenomenon).bI knew my brain was healing when I tied my shoes with no help the day before I flew back to Buffalo. I did it without thinking that time and almost started cryingwwith happiness. You lay in bed thinking "will I be like this the rest of my life?" About a month after that I was watching Caddyshack on the TV and was repeating the lines as they were on the TV "It's in the hole!, etc.".HAd a little more trouble with names. Example-That fall they had the Snickers commercial on with the Brady Bunch and Steve Buschemi as Jan. I knew he was in Fargo and on the Sopranos but could not remember his name no matter how hard I tried. Asked my sister his name and then repeated it over and over until I could remember it. When I go food shopping for more than 2 or 3 items I need a list to not forget something. Had a mind like a steel trap before the stroke. P.S.- didn't drive for a year.

I have told it before, but ai tell some details agin. In 2014 was having symptoms but ignored them and/or telling myself I wasn't as sick as i was. Went to party and people there asking me if I was OK. Friends take to mutual friend and the next day, She talked to me on the phone for 3 hoursrs and got me to say I would go to the ER to get checked out. Went the next day and my BP was 247/75 !!!!!!. Said they would admit me- OK. Was waiting for a room and asked why I wasn't in one. They said they were waiting for space in the ICU!!! Next day during a brain scan I had a stroke. I say I had the stroke in the best place for it to happen , while they were scanning my brain. Don't have clear memories for the next 3 days. Spent 3 weeks in rehab and had my brother fly back to Buffalo with me. I had aphasia for several months and had trouble finding words and names.Needed a walker for 3 months, then after the 2014 blizzard, that spring i started walking. Using a cane, I first made ⅓ of a mile, had to rest and then walk bak home. That was in March, every nice day, I walked a house further before turning back. By labor day, I could make over a mile. Had aphasia where i had to search for words and names but that got better over a few months. I get dizzy if I look up too long (like looking up at trees in the woods) but it goes away when I look level. Have a very, very , very slight weakness on my left side, but those are the only things. Have to take 10+ pils a day (about half are for BP which is excellent if I take them). My kidney function was down to 10% at the stroke (from the high BP). I only have one-the other was removed when I was 4 (back in 1961) because of cogenial reasons. But recovered. I could have died 8 years ago if the stroke had happened while I was driving or not in the hospital. This is all bonus time.

Billsy and him are meeting to service each other tonight. -
3.8 in West Seneca at the corner of Mineral Springs and Indian Church Road at 6:15 AM. Located about 2 mies south of me (Cheektowaga). Was still awake because I had gone to the bathroom and am on the 2nd floor with a window next to my bed. Had lived for 19 years in the SF area in Calif. , so I knew what it was immediately. Had felt 2 4.2sabout the same distance away when I lived in CA.

I didn't say he never stuttered I believe he used to. just nowadays when he pauses or starts to lose his place, his cult calls it stuttering. in my thesis defense, I had extensive notes and copies os the ~40 slides, which I never had to refer to. I tell anybody that has told me they have to public speak, to remember that you are the expert. They don't know what you are going to talk about.

Chinese spy balloon over Montana?
Wacka replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It's over Montana , not NJ. Shoot it down and nothing will get damaged. -
up above, someone mentioned Biden's "stutter". He has dementia. He does not stutter. He has dementia. The singervMel Tillis stuttered. I stuttered as a kid. The speech pathologist would come tp my r;ementary school once a week and meet with me. I could read stuff out loud with no problem but talking to people was a problem. Through HS, I would stutter in stressful situations or on certain words. I was cured of stuttering in college and grad school. When I had to to journal club (talk about scientific articles)I was cured of it. People who know me as an adult are amazed I stuttered as a kid.Joke is senile and serial liar.

Biden, A Good American President, Pilfers Classified Docs

I don't know your situation, but uf you had any fmily member get alzheimers or dementia, Biden is definitely showing the signs of it. Having the most powerful leader in the world having it should scare everyone. I spent from 4 years ago (Jan 2019) till when my mom died in Sept 2021 being my mom's primary caregiver. -

Joke today said he was given a key for a locomotive and rode in the engine about 15% of the time he rode Amtrak to Delaware. Probably let him see the inside of the cab once, gave him a hat and let him go "choo-choo" every time they approached a crossing.

Steph Curry Statement on multi family homes
Wacka replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Atherton was where Joe Montana and Barry \Bonds lived. They j\had to change the law to hire a police chief. The law said the police chief had to reside in Atherton. The guy they hired could not afford anyplace in town and they had to change the law so they could hire him. There is a more exclusive town, Los Altos Hills, which is adjacent to Stanford University and just on the other side of Stanford from Atherton. The town does not allow any businesses in the town. Packard (of Hewlett/Packard) wanted to put a small office for his charitable foundation on his massive property which would look like a cottage and the town said no.
