  1. The Sheriff's Cards were laminated with a nice color picture in 1975. When I turned 18, went downtown (no suburban auto bureaus then) to register to vote at the Board Elections, to the jail to get my sheriff's card, and to the selective Service to register and get a draft card. Friend who was 3 months older got one. When I went in March '75 , they told me they were going to change it to registering to twice a year and then they changed it to once a year an a few months later abolished Selective Service, Brought registering at 18 back years later. To get your Sheriff's Card you went to the lobby of the county jail downtown. Turn one way and ir was the visitor's waiting room to see your relative inside. Turn the other way and it was to get photographed for the card. I heard of peoplee going to bars down south and they thought you were a cop or an employee of the Department. They said they were tretated nice in those bars.😀
  2. Marcia is only a few months older than me. Had a crush on her every time I watched. She's 67 now.
  3. I don't know why, but in the mid '70s, Springville switched to shocking pink basketball uniforms. Boy did they get razzed when they came to Cheektowaga Central (my alma mater). He lives in the Tri-State area and does wear Jets colors at times.
  4. Great googily moogily to leave it to a Chefs fan to make an uglier combination....😀
  5. On the album he had a beautiful smile. One time the local sports reporter wanted to interview him as he was coming off the ice at practice. He said 'wait a minute, I have to put my teeth in." He maybe had only 4-5 left. That was before helmets or face shields. Remember the game against Boston in his rookie season (71?) when he fought Orr. Vandais and Cashman in the same game and won all 3! Then you had to get in 3 fights in a game to get ejected. The one with Cashman, they broke through the Zamboni entrance and were fighting in the tunnel under the stands!
  6. Was at the same game. Took the BART from the other end from my house in Dublin. Would put ny jersey in a bag and put it on when I got to the fellow Bills Backers in the parking lot. We had no problems in the lot because Pinto Ken was with us and offered the Raider Fans near us bowling ball shots.
  7. The guys that acted tough in HS (although they probably weren't) were called "hard guys".
  8. My mom would ask every evening to "go home" even though she was in the house she lived in for 60 years. She meant her childhood home that she and my aunts and uncles had sold ~40 years earlier. Joke probably is saying he wants to go home and he has the $ to actually afford at least one other home besides the WH. They just don't want to tell him no.
  9. The In-n-Out and Denny's that closed in Oakland are right next to the stadium. The Denny's is literally adjacent to where they store the visitor side seats during the baseball season (they go in Center field). I'm surprised the seats aren't stolen in the summer. The whole neighborhood plazas and streets have people living in RVs. If they built a new stadium in the same place, they would have to build an armed security compound for parking. The airport is only a mile or two away and people who are gassing up before turning in their rental cars are getting their cars broken into while going inside to pay.
  10. Grandpa, you haven't raised your child and grandchild correctly. 😀
  11. I think she tripled it. I looked up the town on Wiki (didn't know exactly where it is)and it said that the avg income there was around $30K.
  12. Several years ago I was pointing out how Joke was declining and was suffering from dementia. I got that by comparing him to my mother who died in 2021 from it. I was criticized by the useful idiots (aka demtards) on this board. Over the years, I see more and more democrats coming to the same conclusion. There are clips confirming my opinion almost daily.
  13. Born in 1957, so the 70s was my HS and college years. OJ's 2000 yard season. Remember Led Zeppelin, Yes and many other bands being new bands. Watching the Watergate hearings for social studies class. The beginnings of cable TV. Watching hard R movies on the cable after HBO went off the air at about midnight. (We'd get beers and go to my friend's house (who had cable)). Watching people play PacMan at the bar. Seeing the 4th concert at Rich Stadium (Ozark Mountain Daredevils/ Doobie Brothers/Chicago).
  14. She was on the local news yesterday. Of course, they didn't say if she won or not, because the show aired today. She is from Cattaraugus, NY
  15. When will Red Solo Cup post?
  16. There's something for you, Slime, that will make everything better. It's called Thorazine.
  17. One I saw years ago in the employee section of the parking ramp at Roswell Park: 2PCME. Il give you 3 guesses what that doc's specialization was in.
  18. How about Gil Perreault singing that Elvis song they played after a Sabres win? 😀
  19. As compared to Joke who is doing it for China and Ukraine.
