  1. You have missed some other details for pessimism: 1. Nigel Bradham may get suspended for pot possession. 2. Hairston is gone for the year. What happens if Pears goes down to injury? 3. With Gilmore we have average corners. Without Gilmore, we may have the worst corners in the NFL. 4. Byrd doesn't want to play for the Bills anymore and I think he has a poor year. 5. Like Marcel Darius last year, C. J. Spiller will be dealing with a tragedy in his life just before the start of the season. This may affect him all year. Yes, I am in panic mode. Another year with no hint of the playoffs. Problem is after four or five weeks when they are out of contention, the Sabres are up with the same problem. We will not be able to fall back on them since they will suck too. You have missed some other details for pessimism: 1. Nigel Bradham may get suspended for pot possession. 2. 2. Not to rain on this parade, but I think E.J. Manual will be a bust and we will be drafting another QB in three years after Kolb plays one year and Manual gets two years to prove he is a bust. I watched him play at Florida State and he is not a starter in the NFL. I went to the Florida State Vs. Gators game last year and he was terrible with three interceptions and completed 50% of his passes. He sucked against good teams. He is not Cam Newton and will never be anything but a back up QB talent. He is Jamarcus Russell with more of a work ethic. He is a nice guy, well spoken, smart but is not a guy that will lead your team to victories in the fourth quarter. He can not will this team to victory and that is what this team needs in a first round QB. He was a third round talent and no more. We let Dee Milliner go to the jets, and then the Jets got Geno Smith. I hate the Jets and I give them higher grades for there picks. I like the Woods and Alonso picks. But why try to get Carlos Dansby and then draft an Alonso? I guess Dansby isn't signing with the Bills? Marquise Goodwin has speed but he can't run routes and has little experience. He is another T. J Graham. Why do we need two inexperienced fast wide receivers? Why didn't we grab a TE, guard or CB in this spot? Duke Williams was a good pick, but why did we take another safety in the fifth round? We just moved Aaron Williams to SS to compete with Searcy. Are we going to let Byrd walk after this year? What the hell was this? We still have glaring needs at Guard, TE, and CB. Why didn't we take CB Jordan Poyer in the fifth round. Why didn't we take Barret Jones who can play guard and center in the fourth round? These players were available.
  3. Another failure by this front office. Can't lure free agents with no QB and no real plan. I'll give them credit for at least trying, but unless they over pay, I don't see them landing any significant free agents. Nix has been an absolute failure throughout his Bills tenure and it starts with the Gailey hire. We are a laughingstock again and it is getting very old. Add Regier as a total failure also. What has he done to improve this team.as we sit near the bottom of the standings with an owner that will freely spend for a winner. Why is Regier and Nix still employed?
  4. Draft Manual as your next QB and this franchise will not make playoffs for another 10 years. I've watched him play in several games and he is not the answer. I saw him play in each game Florida State lost last year and he was a major reason they lost. His inconsistency is overwhelming. He also does not know how to play in poor weather. If he is the Bills pick for QB, I'd rather the Bills not draft a QB this year and go with Jackson. This team can not afford to waste a first round pick on a QB with as many holes as Manual. He can not win games for you. He plays not to lose and in no way can he dominate a game in the college level let alone the pros. He is a third round talent and nothing more. I'd rather have Fitzpatrick.
  5. It is great what he says, But at this point Nix and the entire football staff have failed miserably so far this free agency period.. This team has gotten much worse on paper since Marrone has arrived. I don't blame him but he has provided nothing as far as a plan to get this team to improve.
  6. Hard to believe it could get any worse for Buffalo sports teams, but today it took another step toward the surreal, 1. Buffalo Sabres trade TJ Brennan, a former second round pick to the Florida Panthers for a fifth round pick. What the hell is that? He was our leading scorer in Rochester, he is very young, he comes to the Sabres as a power play specialist on the back line with a rifle shot and we trade him for a fifth round pick while we keep Hecht on the roster who is 35 years old and can't score on an open net. Absolutely inept. The Sabres then send Grigorenko back to Quebec and waist a year of his contract. Absolutely inept. 2. Buffalo Bills have no QB, No second WR, No starting guard, no ILB, No second starting caliber CB, and depth problems all over the place, huge amount of free agency money to spend, and the Bills do nothing. Absolutely inept. 3. Buffalo Bulls Basketball Team fires there coach which could lead to the loss of their best player ever, Mcrae, and potentially other starters on a team that could very well make an NCAA tournament run next year. I just have one thing to say. Why now? Why risk this move on the heels of a potential break out year next year? Absolutely inept. 4. Buffalo Bulls Football team signs their inept coach to a contract extension when he hasn't won more than 4 games in a season yet. Absolutely inept. I could go on and on but it is the same old story year in and year out. No playoffs for any of our Buffalo teams since I don't know when and it appears that this is going to continue for a long long time since these teams have piss poor management.
  7. Getting worried about losing one of these players without any compensation. I personally can't believe they haven't even really attempted to sign them yet. My feeling is if they can't afford both sign them anyway and then trade one of them later. At least get something for them. I know this is easier said then done, but they did it with Peerless Price many years ago through a trade. Both of these players could be worth a first round pick if traded. They are just entering their peek years in the league. I am sick of losing our best players after their first contract because of our unwillingness to sign them. These players should have been signed last year to prevent this situation. I could give a crap about signing Jackson and Colin Brown today! Sign the players that matter. If we lose one of them with no compensation, this is a major strike against this new front office and coaching staff.
  8. The pick will depend on whether or not Levitre can be signed. If not, take Eric Fisher if available. If we lock up Levitre, then we go with either Dee Milliner to solidify the other lock down corner position which is needed in Pettine's defense, or take best available LB.
  9. Very concerned with the hired Special Teams coach, Crossman. Do you remember the friend/special teams coach Wade Phillips hired. Can't remember his name, but he was absolutely abysmal and Wade basically refused to fire him and was subsequently fired for this stupidity. (Can you say Music City Miracle). The Crossman hire seems very similar. The guy had one of the worst special teams in the league the last two years in Detroit and this is who Marrone grabs for the Bills because he is an old friend. I see the same problem here and this may cost the Bills some games next year. Hell he could have hired Bobby April again, he was available. This is the biggest concern I have with this new coaching staff.
  10. If we hire any coach from Arizona, I will be sick to my stomach. I'd rather have Gailey back. Why would we get rid of one loser for another loser. Hell Gailey beat Whisenhunt this year in Arizona. I honestly can't believe they are even wasting there time interviewing losers from another team. As far as Marrone, Syracuse has not really been world beaters during his coaching tenure against mediocre competition in the Big Least Conference. McCoy doesn't do much for me either. It was Payton Manning and the defense that led them to where they are not him. Lovie would be acceptable if he brings a real offensive coordinator on board. Chip Kelly would be great unless he plans to come to the NFL for a few years and leave to go back to the college ranks like several other college coaches have in the recent past. Why not Holmgren? He led Green Bay and Seattle to the Super Bowl and knows how to win cold weather.
  11. We don't want Barkley in Buffalo. Southern Cal players can't handle playing in the cold weather. He doesn't have the arm strength and is another Sanchez clone. Landry Jones is a product of the system in Oklahoma. Put him in Buffalo and he too will fail. We need aplayer that can play in the Buffalo weather who has a gun for an arm and true leadership skills. I don't see that player in this years draft. I would take a flyer in the 2 or third round for Nassib, Glennon, or Murray if he comes out.
  12. Well if we are considering (based on early rumors) Grimm, Horton, and Whisenhunt - three Arizona cast off losers, Jay Gruden who is running the 22 best offense in the league in Cincinnati, things look pretty Grimm (no pun intended).
  13. We need a head coach who has been a winner in the NFL. I see Chip Kelly failing after two years and running back to college ball. It is time to open up the check book and sign a real proven NFL coach. I don't want more offensive and defensive coordinators who have never been a Head NFL coach (Grimm, Gruden,, Horton etc. We need a real NFL coach that is going to get the fans excited to buy season tickets. Gailey, Malarkey, Jauron, Williams were all second tier coaching candidates that failed. I also don't trust Buddy Nix to pick the next head coach. He tried and failed and is mad that Gailey was fired. You can stick continuity up his ass. We need a coach who can coach on game day and recruit top assistant coaches. My top three are 1. Cowher, 2. Jon Gruden, 3. Jimmy Johnson
  14. Actually I would love for this to happen but more realistically, Cowher is HC, Gailey is retained as offensive coordinator to maintain continuity so we keep the offense intact to some degree. It was Cowher that recommended Gailey as head coach for the Bills, He stated that if he was to come back as a coach, Gailey would be his offensive coordinator. Cowher is the reason Gailey was hired. The defensive Coordinator, Romeo Crennell. Of course, then I woke up from my dream and realize that Gailey, Nix and Wannstadt have been retained for yet another year with no change in ownership and Byrd and Levitre leave as free agents.
  15. I think Levitre is more important than Byrd. Great to keep the starting offensive line intact. He is a must sign in order to keep Wood from walking next year. They are good friends and were drafted by the Bills in the same year. If Levtre is resigned, Wood is resigned next year. Levtre walks, Wood walks next year which could be a real sad situation and will set back the O-line once again.
  16. I for one am very concerned about losing one or both of these players in the offseason. The team can't afford to lose the best defensive player and best offensive lineman on the team. Byrd is the only true fairly consistent playmaker on the defensive side of the ball. Levitre is the the most consistent, versatile lineman on the team and never gets hurt. Lose one or both players and you take more steps back because they have to be replaced usually at a cost of a high draft pick. It also sends another poor message about the Bills in the fact that a significant number of good draft picks have left the Bills after their initial contract is up. They seem to leave entering their prime and then make the Pro Bowl or make the Super Bowl a few years later on another team. I think the offensive line when they are all healthy is one of the best in the league. Keep the starters on the team. That is the continuity we need. Not continuity in the front office. Get rid of the front office and keep the offensive line. I can't believe the Bills haven't even started negotiating with Levitre. He was more important than Urbik. What kind of message does that send to him? This front office is completely backwards. You are playing with fire allowing these players to test the free agent market. If they test it they are gone for greener pastures and the Bills are two more huge additional pieces away from sniffing the playoffs. If they can sign guys like Kelsey and Fitzpatrick to huge contracts without merit at least sign the players that deserve to be paid. Dump Kelsay, Merriman, Fitzpatrick, McGee and get these guys signed now.
  17. Bill Polian. He has done it with the Bills and Indianapolis. He is available. As long as his son Chris is not allowed to be a part of his tenure. My feeling is Ralph made the biggest mistake of his entire football ownership when he fired Polian. This team has yet to recover from that moronic move. Polian gets fired and quickly turns the Colts into a Super Bowl champion. and the Bills ride a 13 year playoff drought. Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas would certainly agree and these guys may be a major part of the future ownership of the Bills.
  18. I here about this continuity crap, but i don't buy it. Other teams have succeeded the year after they blew things up. Nix picked Gailey and this failed. I don't think he deserves another shot to pick another loser.coach. Donahoe got a chance to pick more than one coach and how did that turn out. You make the pick you own it and deal with the consequences. My feeling is Nix should be fired for his pick of Gailey. Gailey has never been head coach material. Even his Georgia Tech teams were average at best and then he was fired. Nix has to go down with his coach. Time for a new GM and new coach. I am sick of the continuity argument. This argument hasn't work once in the 13 years the Bills have not made the playoffs. Three years is enough time to turn things around. I actually think two years should be enough time to turn things around. Look at Indianapolis as a prime example. They did it in one year with a rookie QB. It was Gailey who is going down in flames with his QB, and Nix should go down with his picked coach, Gailey, into retirement.
  19. If they stay the course wilh Gailey and Nix, there will be no sold out games next year and will attract no good free agents and will be almost impossible to sign any of our main free agents (ie Byrd, Levitre,).
  20. I have been living for the future for 20 years and it has been failure after failure. Time to reach back into the past with Bill Polian as GM. I am not opposed to him as President of Football Operations, but I don't see Ralph making that move. He likes Brandon.
  21. If you really think about, the Bills have sucked or been average ever since he was fired. What a huge mistake that was and the number 1 reason this franchise has sucked for so many years. Ralph really screwed the fans with that move.
  22. Bill Polian was the GM at the heart of the Bills super bowl years. Ralph is at the end of his tenure as Bills owner. Time for Ralph to admit it was a big mistake to fire Polian. Time to make amends and bring Polian back as the new GM of the Bills so we can turn this sorry franchise around. The Nix, Gailey, Fitzpatrick experiment was a major failure. With Polian's past success, I feel he can bring a high end experienced coach back to Buffalo. Nix will not be able to bring a decent coach to Buffalo. Nobody significant is going to want this job unless there is a capable GM in place with the experience to get the Bills to the Super Bowl. Polian has proved that with the Bills and the Colts. Polian as GM and you may get a winning franchise again. I bet Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas and other prominent Bills would love to bring Polian back to Buffalo. I also believe that Kelly and company want to buy the Bills from Ralph, and there is no better GM to start the Bills back to prominence than Bill Polian.
  23. After being a part of this team for several years, how does this front office convince players like Levitre, Byrd, McKelvin, and Jones to resign with this team, let alone Wood and Spiller for next year? This team may be starting from scratch if these players walk.We certainly can't afford to lose Levitre and Byrd this year and the Bills never use the Franchise tag. What happens if these players walk. I am even worried about losing McKelvin and Jones. We can't afford to lose our best punt returner in McKelvin and like it or not he is better than A. Williams, Rogers and Brooks as far as I can see. McGee is done. Graham won't be able to replace Jones either. We are going to spend next year's draft replacing the pieces we lose in free agency. This team may not be able to improve with the draft next year if they lose these pieces. Next year gets even more concerning when Wood and Spiller decide to opt out and try free agency. Why would Spiller want to resign with this team after the way he was utilized.
  24. After the Williams signing, do we have enough cap space this year and next year to sign Fred Jackson, Byrd, Levitre and Woods to new contracts. I think they each become free agents in 2013. We intend to sign Fred to an extension this year along with all our draft choices, so what will be left for Levitre, Byrd and Woods next year? These 4 guys may be more critical collectively then Mario and Steve to this team. Does anybody have the updated cap situation for the Bills after all our free agent signings (including Mario's)?
  25. He is staying over night, but he'll probably talk to all the teams that are interested in him including Houston to see if they will pay close to what the Bills are offering. If it is close he is gone. This is the same tactic Meachum just did last night.
