Stevie Johnson Contract SIGNED
EasternOHBillsFan replied to iommi's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In your opinion it is foolish. Letting him go and getting Vincent Jackson is an automatic major upgrade. -
Peters , Wilson ----- Mckelvin ????
EasternOHBillsFan replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
t This is what teams do in order to win- clean out the dead wood and replace it with talent and ability, the kind that wins, no excuses. Johnson, Parrish, McKelvin, let them all go... we can do better than these players, despite the noise from some. -
He does deserve to get in before Cris Carter, period. Tainted? Get real... NO wide receivers were elected this year, which is an absolute joke. Andre's frustration is completely valid. When I read the title of your post, all I could hear was the "wonk wonk wonk" sound of the Charlie Brown teacher's voice. Get real!

That guy is a head case; no way I could support that.

All I asked for was a number by number discussion since he made it clear that China had a good deal going, whether or not he was joking is beside the point. My point is that if capitalism unchecked is the ultimate goal of corporations and draws support, where will the abuses end? I NEVER said all or nothing, otherwise I would not have taken the time to break it down line by line as to how China attracts business. They do it in Africa, where African leaders will take the money over the welfare of its people. We're not Africa, and so China is trying to dominate the slave labor market- shocker. We're complicit in this venture, and so I'm just pointing out what happens when we allow it to happen, no matter the corporation, it is an affront to the senses. I'm not begging for insults, for to debate a topic, sticking to the subject matter, is somthing I just don't see and don't expect to last very long. We'll see.

So are you agreeing with these actions? 1. Get rid of the minimum wage 2. Make no provision for overtime pay 3. Make no provision for workers compensation 4. Make no provision for environmental regulation of any kind 5. Make no provision for a maximum hours per day worked 6. Repeal all child labor laws 7. Make no provision for breaks

America has grown soft and does not appreciate what working conditions were like before there were labor laws, how horrible it was for people to just live. Many people speak of deregulation as if it would solve our problems, but as the records of corporations have proven, the more you deregulate the more they will take advantage at the expense of working people.

Profits off of the laborers in this fashion IS as it was in Theodore Roosevelt's day. Capitalism should never be about pure profit... you don't cut your head off to cure chronic migraines. Interesting to see if this debate produces any personal insults... maybe just maybe there can be SOME civilized discussion for once...

http://www.cnn.com/2012/02/06/world/asia/china-apple-foxconn-worker/index.html?hpt=hp_c1 Although it is not as bad as many manufacturing sites, it is still very reminiscent of a Charlie Chaplin movie, Modern Times: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYbsBcPDVQM As this is the Charles Dickens anniversary, this story only proves that in many parts of the world, times have not changed at all. Yet we are supposed to accept this as normal capitalism at work for the good of the United States. This is far from normal, it is abhorrent to the senses and it is too bad we do not have a Theodore Roosevelt to do something about it.

Anybody Watch "Namath" on HBO?

You only posted ONCE, and I wasn't debating you. You're the one ruining this thread with your personal attacks/name calling, not I... -

Is that all you can do is insult people? You're a shining example of perfection, huh? Can't debate anything without the personal attacks? Thanks for nothing. -

I hear you there; the NFL can't force manufacturers to stop, but the public sure could... however, I don't see the SUCCESSFUL boycotting of clothing sales to prove a point. -

Wrong... aside from one championship game in Miami, he didn't do anything worthy of the Hall before or after, numbers aside. That's fact, not opinion. Success in one game isn't a Hall of Fame worthy career in ANY sense of the word. -

The real criminals are those who choose to manufacture their goods for slave wages, be it counterfeiters or legit manufacturers... there is no difference other than profit margin. -

He DID beat the NFC (THEN still the NFL, pre-merger)... Super Bowl IV against the Vikings, great game plan. Kobe Bryant's a big fan of LeBron James, so what? That doesn't prove anything... -

I would have rooted for Len Dawson, but not Joe Namath. Len Dawson did it with class, and Namath did not... there are MANY AFL coaches and players that were great to me, but to canonize him for one game is insane. I don't care if Super Bowl III made the NFL, I still will not feel Namath is worthy of the Hall of Fame. The argument that a player is better is made all the time by people who didn't watch athletes play (Bill James of SABR, for instance, what of him? Pretty sure he never saw Honus Wagner play), and so I discount that totally.
