Its not how what specifically works? Show me legal precedent where a President was tried and acquited by Congress and then indicted for participating in the same crime after leaving office.

Smith's J6 charges are double jeopardy as defined in A5. "Nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be put in jeopardy of life or limb." The Semate acquited Trump of all J6 charges under the House articles of impeachment. Smith's charges are moot. They are materially similar and refernce the same act. You can't be charged with conspiracy or obstruction of an act the court, in this case the Senate, has already determined you are innocent of and therefore had no involvement. The mystery is how Trump's legal team has been asleep at the wheel in filing any motions to dismiss or petition the Supreme Court directly.

AG Garland names the Asst AG as special prosecutor for the Hunter Biden "investigation", the same guy that's been stonewalling the investigation for years, made a secret blanket immunity deal, and shut down investigators from other Federal agencies such as the IRS. Special powers to delay it more and hide it better providing assistance to the administration in power. The cops at the FBI are going to arrest themselves and the lawyers at DOJ are going to put themselves on trial? Not a chance.

We're getting to the root of a point of contention. Governments also make false statements. And lie and cover up and withhold the truth. And issue propaganda and misonformation when it suits their needs. Given the politicized nature of the environment an independent third party review would restore faith in the process. Assuming they've got nothing to hide. And if such an audit performed under the supervision of the court proves the State of Georgia's contentions so be it. I think our differences can be summed up that you trust the government and I do not.

I'm willing to take a closer look from an objective perspective. Many of these charges revolve around the conclusion that statements are "false". Such as these. How is the Georgia DA going to prove they're false statements without opening up the voting record for scrutiny by the defense or some independent auditor? This should be interesting. 1. That 2,506 felons voted illegally in the November 3, 2020, presidential election in Georgia. 2. That 66,248 underage people illegally registered to vote before their seventeenth birthday prior to the November 3, 2020, presidential election in Georgia; 3. That at least 2,423 people voted in the November 3, 2020, presidential election in Georgia who were not listed as registered to vote; 4. That 1,043 people voted in the November 3, 2020, presidential election in Georgia who had illegally registered to vote using a post office box; 5. That 10,315 or more dead people voted in the November 3, 2020, presidential election in Georgia; 6. That Fulton County election workers at State Farm Arena ordered poll watchers and members of the media to leave the tabulation area on the night of November 3, 2020, and continued to operate after ordering everyone to leave;The DA better be damn sure that the case because I'd expect those charges create an opportunity for the defense to submit numerous discovery motions and call rebuttal witnesses.

In other news not communicated by the "nothing-to-see-here" corporate media: The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) revealed it's in possession of some 5,400 records that contain email pseudonyms that President Joe Biden used during his tenure as vice president. This was revealed in a letter from the Archives to the Southeastern Legal Foundation (SLF), which last year filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for any documents that referenced three pseudonymous email accounts: robinware456@gmail.com, JRBWare@gmail.com and Robert.L.Peters@pci.gov. “We have performed a search of our collection for Vice Presidential records related to your [June 9, 2022] request and have identified approximately 5,138 email messages, 25 electronic files and 200 pages of potentially responsive records that must be processed in order to respond to your request,” said the letter from NARA.

The problem is none of the actions or statement claiming fraud or interference by Trump's team appear unique to activities around election result challenges. We"ve seen it all before. Like people reaching out to have conversations with election officials. Nobody attempted to do or say lets make up 12,000 fake votes, insert them into the re-count, and claim victory. My point of saying that is to suggest if the main character in this show was somebody else we wouldn't be going back and forth pointing and counter-pointing about charges of conspiracy and such in Georgia because there wouldn't be any.

I'll say it. My objections aren't over appropriate punishment for violations of the law.

It sounds like the DA's entire case against Trump in Georgia depends on an interpretation of the transcript of a phone call where Trump "demanded" a second recount where he stated "I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have because we won the state." The idea is the DA needs to convince the jury this is a command from the former President to direct others to commit fraud and falsify the election results rather than merely a statement of the objective and mathematically the number of votes required to gain a majority of the vote.

They talk a good game about Democracy while always siding with the State against the individual citizen. But I can't recall a one of them every using the word "Freedom".

The most egregious part of it is they've just got no respect for the game. Its bad enough that Team Left feels no need to follow any rules of order in pursuit of their objectives. But what facilitates that behavior is the fact they've got the ref's in their pocket as most of the people responsible for enforcement of the rules of the political and legal game share their locker room.

You can make the bigger evil argument by referencing Trump all day and night but none of that makes Biden innocent. You can refuse to accept that any reasonably objective person looking at the trail of bread crumbs leading to the President regarding the Biden family's shady dealings would conclude something is rotten here. You don't need complete information or official evidence (that House investigators have but aren't leaking) to draw a conclusion, but what we know already is a clear invitation to look closer. From the use of secret government issued e-mail addresses to claims of not ever discussing or knowing about his son's "business" dealings to being placed at the scene of meetings with client something is going on here. Generally people with secret e-mail accounts are attempting to hide something from somebody. And if all's on the up and up why lie and say you know nothing when you know the truth that you participated? To suggest Joe was duped or some lackey that just showed up at his son's behest and was played like a fool oblivious to how his presence would be used is ridiculous. If Biden has nothing to hide why is he hiding many things? Otherwise, I have no illusions anything short of a live confession on MSNBC would convince you and even then you might still be skeptical of some conspiracy.

Delude yourself to your heart's desire. But when its all said and done this Biden influence peddling operation will go down as the worst political scandal in American history.

Missing the point. The merits of the case or the strength of the charges have no bearing on the issue. They shouldn't be discussing the case with the White House, period. What it does is dispel the illusion Garland insists upon that DOJ is acting independent of the WH on the indictments. Clearly, that's a lie. Another lie. I've lost count of the lies. Maybe just remember the times they told the truth? Clear conflict of interest. Clear ethics violation. Clear political implications. DOJ has no credibility. DOJ needs to explain what they were discussing and why? What I don't get is why Trump's lawyers haven't jumped all over this yet? Motions for disclosure of these contacts and even motions to dismiss should be filed.

With the exception of some of the document charges, they all know these indictments are politically motivated. And contorted thought crime BS. It's not that they believe they're legit. And they're not stupid either. They just don't care. All that matters is get the guy. Rules? We don't need no stinking rules! Why argue with them? You'll never get the truth and when charges are thrown out, acquitted, or discharged on appeal or booted by the Supreme Court they can all act surprised and outraged. But don't expect any rule of law has prevailed admissions.
