It is good in this day and age to see a young coach ask veterans for input. Ignoring the past and wisdom of guys like Kelly and the rest is bad mojo especially in an organization as unique as the Bills. History has a way of repeating itself in both positive ways and negative ways.

I would say the odds are long on Boldin becoming a Bill. He is probably looking for a team that will get him another ring and not one that hopes to be there in January. I would also think the new coach wants guys that he can get into the system now and has been stated AB isn't signing until August.

Seems there is a bit of a Catch-22 here. The NFL generally prefers a pocket guy over an athletic guy. In the world of overly gross generalizations the pocket guys tend to be more on the white side while the more athletic types are not. Granted there are exceptions but if you look at Rodgers, Flynn, Brady-pocket guys, and Taylor, Wilson-athletic types you see a trend. EJ breaks that mold in the eye test but does support the narrative of overreaching for a pocket guy. While we would like things to be black or white metaphorically, we don't when it boils down to literally. So there is some validity to Jeff's point, but he failed to present it in a politically correct manner. Now let the flogging begin.

As Watkins said, Y'all back to your little jobs" trying to compare the "normal" work environment to the NFL is ridiculous. If you didn't ' show up for an OTA at your place of employment would it be hotly debated by 50 strangers? The NFL is not the real world. Does anyone pay you 8 million a year so that 80,000 of their friends can come get drunk off their ass and watch you shuffle papers? You have probably never been to those kinds of parties, have you? Shady has his own leadership council, he just buys the Oline expensive watches.

How soon they forget

Bruce didn't even go to training camp, why is everyone so upset Shady missed an OTA? I don't care if he had bus full of babes chilling in the backyard as long as he shows up on Game day, who cares what he does five months out? Didn't anyone learn from the Greg Williams era?
