I would probably go for either the Packers or Chiefs. Chiefs were my first favorite team after watching the early 70s OT Christmas day game or the Packers. I agree similar area to Buffalo and, as historian of Buffalo Bills draft blunders, I never cease to wonder what if we didnt make the move up for JP we could of had Rogers the next year. Think how long ago JP seems, and Rogers is still going at a top of the game, elite level.

I think Gailey was a distinct sign of what is and had been wrong as you described with system and coaches. Gailey was the poster boy of what direction to not take this club. You had friggin beastmode and Freddie and you want a waterbug? How about not injured/benched Stevie and the free agents at WR combined with no clue on defense. I get synergy or whatever you want to call it between the coach and GM, but ultimately it has to be someone with final say. To tell the coach Im improving this unit with the early picks and I will get you a water bug in the later rounds. Im not building my team around a rb when Im loaded at rb.

Whaley was the Peter principle, he really was and is. He is very good at pro personnel evaluation. At college scouting and working a draft, he pretty much sucks.

Beane was hired after the draft. The one lingering stench of Whaley remaining was trading back up twice in 2017. Sure we finally got an extra 1 after initially trading down, but we also gave up several picks to move back up in the 2nd and 3rd. Looking at this roster right now, I kind of think I would rather have an extra 3 guys under contract for 4 years than the moves up. I dont know if McBean will turn this franchise around. But I sure as hell know this team has had moves up backfire more in this drought than payoff. So I will give the accumulate picks strategy a chance, its a real change. I'll have to reserve judgement until after the the 2018 draft. Then we can criticize if we dont agree with it. The 18 draft will make or break the carolina duo. I've said this before and always will, I would take half this board armed with 5 draft magazines and some websites over our front office during this millennium. Could they do worse? I really doubt it. Here's hoping Beane knows what he is doing.
