  1. Sammy Watkins is one of the 5 best WRs in football. The man is always open.
  2. Of course that's true, but the implication that the run game is inflated by his rushing totals is patently false. The corollary, of course, is that a consistent pocket passer that can hurt teams with his intermediate game would do just as much good for the run game as a QB that can run.
  3. This is still a false argument. People said that Tyrod inflated the team's rushing ability last year, but when QB rushing yards are removed for all teams, the Bills finished 5th overall in rushing yards and 1st in yards/carry in 2015. This year, I haven't done the work to normalize the stats for all teams, but even if you keep QB rushing yards in the equation for all other teams, and only remove Tyrod's rushing yards, the Bills rank 6th in the NFL in rushing yards overall. The team yards/carry average drops from 5.29 to 5.03, but that would still rank 1st in the NFL.
  4. Again I say: if the guy is healthy enough to be on the field for 25 snaps, then he better be healthy enough to be targeted more than 4 times.
  5. I was fine with that choice of throw (even though he had Watkins for an easy 1st down). I wish he'd have thrown a better ball, but that's not one that I'm getting too upset over.
  6. You're missing the point. If he's healthy enough to be on the field for 25 snaps, then he's healthy enough to receive more than 4 targets. If he's not healthy enough to absorb the impact of a tackle after a reception, then he shouldn't be out there. There's no gray area here.
  7. The number of pre-snap reads that result in your number 1 receiver being eliminated from the progression should be zero. I promise you that Eli doesn't do that with Beckham.
  8. Well, I don't remember saying that he should carry the offense or be the target on every play. I did, however, say that he was running open multiple times and Taylor simply didn't see him. If he's healthy enough to be running a pass pattern on offense, he should be the primary read. There were plenty of missed opportunities out there again.
  9. Watkins was on the field for 25 snaps; half of that would be 12.5
  10. If even half of those were pass plays, then he was targeted on 4 of 12 pass attempts...not enough. We have a guy that can rarely be covered by one human--the ball should go his way as often as possible.
  11. Seemingly every pass play the last two weeks
  12. It's on Tyrod IMO...there were many times that Sammy was WIDE open out there today.
  13. From the stands, it appeared that he was open all day long. It also appeared that the QB was gun shy much of the day. The two deep shots for Watkins lead to TDs.
  14. I disliked that Kolb was the plan for competition, but he was the plan nevertheless.
  15. Did you see that Yen AND Tony Jaa are appearing in the new xXx?
  16. Not true on EJ. You may think that the plan for competition (Kolb) was poor, but to say that they didn't have competition for him is incorrect. As to forcing a QB selection, the only time I endorse it is in a situation like the 2013 Bills--when the cupboard is completely bare of anyone with franchise potential.
  17. It's clear to me that he hates the fan base and cannot wait to leave
  18. He's got the most physical talent in the class IMO. I have no idea if he can settle himself enough to win from the pocket, but his arm talent, athleticism, and release time are the type of raw tools that scouts will love. He's probably a R3 on talent, but how well he responds to getting picked apart in the process and on the whiteboard could raise or drop him. But yeah, I love the kid. He and Sefo are the two guys I'm willing to swing and miss on this year.
  19. You see BADOL, if someone wants to discuss the amount of time he's been hobbled as a pro and the effects of it, that's a thought process that has merit. If, however, the implication is that he simply hasn't been available much of the time, well, I have a harder time accepting that as fact. I still feel the same about the trade-up: he was undoubtedly the best offensive prospect at the time, and they were trying to give their QB the pieces to put him in the best situation to succeed. It was a gamble that had almost no chance to be worth the cost, but had every chance to make them a better team in the long-term. In short: I think the world of him as a player, but he needs to be available and be in better health when he is--whether or not he can get some of the neuro-compensation and muscle imbalance issues resolved will be a critical factor
  20. Nobody has hit me for yelling that repeatedly...yet
  21. You're something else, you know that?
  22. This has been true since opening day of 2015
  23. No, I don't see. Your implication is clear: "ton" in this case isn't a quantifiable amount, and thus is relative. I think that's hogwash. To say he's missed a ton of games in his career is a mischaracterization at best. That you choose to paint my response as "it's nothing" in order to prove such statements as non-quantifiable means nothing.
  24. I respectfully submit that there is no context in which missing 11 games out of 43 constitutes "a ton".
