  1. Ralph wanted Buddy Nix...Ralph was big on trust, and big on getting a football guy back in charge of personnel. So sayeth Nevergiveup many moons ago.
  2. He's saying that he hopes the career-long trend of Gilmore's play picking up significantly over the second half of the season picks up.
  3. You both nailed it. /thread
  4. From the guy that said this: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/189903-why-are-players-still-confused-on-defense/?do=findComment&comment=4122658
  5. WHAT??? The middle is basically the only place EJ can throw reliably.
  6. They have zero reason to lie about it. None whatsoever. Jeff's post is mere satire and proves nothing. What do you really expect Russ and/or the team to do, come out and say "hey, we're probably going to suck this year"? Whether folks like it or not, what happens on the field is up to Whaley and Rex, and if they aren't getting it done, they need to be shown the door.
  7. He did. That's a consequence of opponents challenging your defense over the top more than it is an indictment of any player (save, of course, for the overtly stupid type penalties we see on occasion). That's why throwing deep is a smart play: the worst thing that could happen is a intercepunt (yes, I made that up ). As for his DPI vs Cooper: he probably didn't have to take that penalty, but if he felt he was beaten, I'd rather have a penalty than a completion there. A completion can go for a TD, whereas a DPI can't, and may not even get called. Sorry, way too long an answer for the simple statement of fact you provided.
  8. I just don't understand why objectivity takes a back seat to emotion--just watch the games with a critical eye and call it like you see it.
  9. Right, because....wait, that's not right at all. Gilmore's been excellent for all but two games. Two very, very bad games. But yeah, look at the way Allen Robinson abused him for 1 catch and -1 yard. Crabtree and Cooper really took him to the woodshed last week with a combined 3 receptions against him too (plus a 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty in the red zone for Crabtree). I swear, some fans don't care what really happened; better to simply make stuff up.
  10. I feel like this got missed...or willfully ignored... An awful lot of misinformation could easily be corrected if folks just read what the organization has said, consistently, about everyone's roles. Also, in case anyone wants to continue to debate his role in personnel: http://www.syracuse.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2015/10/bills_sabres_president_russ_brandon_new_role_criticism_unbelievable_year.html Now feel free to carry on with the scapegoating, because only the truth-seekers can tell that this team's failures cannot possibly be as simple as "get a QB".
  11. Bolded for emphasis!
  12. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1/How-the-Bills-decided-on-Rex-Ryan-as-head-coach/aa1cc736-b6c4-4af7-bfe9-4aba573bf0fd Just so that folks don't have to make up what happened with regard to Rex (not that I think it'll stop them from doing so) And here's just one of the most-recent Russ-related mega-threads so that we don't have to re-hash the entire thing over and over and over and over: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/188443-is-russ-brandon-to-blame/?hl=brandon And the hierarchy laid out--clear as day--for anyone that's confused: http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1/Complete-transcript-Rex-Ryans-introduction/56e897fd-f22f-4376-9489-7e84a5b4f0c1 RB: One of things, Vic, on that just so we can answer your question so we can put this to bed also: when it comes to the fifty-three and player personnel, that’s under the purview of Doug Whaley, the game-day roster and the coaching staff is obviously Coach Ryan and I will have business ops and administration ops and football administration budgets, but as Terry said earlier and as Coach said, it’s not only one direction, it’s one mindset and we’ll be in lock-step in everything that we do as an organization.
  13. In place of who? Miller and Incognito are actually good guards. We haven't seen Groy at guard in anything other than a preseason game.
  14. Why? Incognito and Miller are better guards than Wood is; Wood is a better center than Groy is...keep them both.
  15. Groy has been adequate as a backup--I counted 3 or 4 times yesterday that he got taken to school in the run game. He's cheap to tender as a RFA, so I expect he'll be back next year as the game day interior backup. I'd also look for Eric Wood to get a small contract extension to lower his cap hit and add 2 years to the end of his deal.
  16. He had 2 bad games; by no measure was he the reason for losing either game. He was bad against the Jets; Darby was worse. Brady shredded our entire secondary. Save for those two games, he's actually been very good.
  17. I have Rudolph as a R5 right now; Mayfield as a R3
  18. This. He is as productive--on a per-target basis--as any receiver in the game.
  19. Indeed. I hear you saying that you're unhappy with Sammy's durability, and I agree that his not being 100% has been an issue. I'm sure that bothers most of us. Where the confusion comes in, for me, is when you respond to the point about Julio/Antonio/Edelman like this: By now, I believe we can agree that that's patently incorrect, and since it seems to be a large contributor to the formation of your opinion, it becomes difficult to see the merits in the thought process.
  20. It's fine if your opinion doesn't change; can we agree that you are indeed basing it on false information?
  21. And this is where you are wrong. I'll repeat it again: Sammy is on target to start more games over his first 3 seasons in the NFL than Julio Jones started in his first 3 seasons. He's also on pace to start the exact same number of games as Antonio Brown in his first 3 NFL seasons. Edelman missed 9 games in his first 3 seasons. So my point remains: you're basing your opinion on falsehoods.
  22. This is the NFL, guys play through injury every year. Somehow, Sammy can get criticized for (a) doing it as a rookie and in his 2nd year, AND for (b) NOT doing it this year.
  23. Indeed. This goes back to my original response to FISD: why do folks feel the need to invent a false narrative? Just say that you're frustrated with him not being 100%. That's a legit complaint. The other stuff is categorically untrue.
