  1. Here's the hyperbole that seems to define the Watkins detractors. He's missed "a ton of games"? Really? He missed 3 of 32 coming into the season. He's missed 9 of 11 this season. That's not even 1/3 of the games since he entered the league. At least pick an accurate stance
  2. And even at 70%, Jacksonville would be patently foolish to think that Ramsey is going to handle Sammy 1-on-1
  3. Nothing about his play this year surprises me He needed to improve upon his anticipation, pocket usage, and field vision...he hasn't. He's limited; he's also capable of producing big plays. The bottom line is that he's the QB here until they get someone better, which probably won't happen next offseason. That said, he's probably about the 18th-25th best QB in the league. Same as last year.
  4. That...wasn't exactly my first thought By the way, have a great thanksgiving, e
  5. Congrats This is the most incorrect statement that I'll read today
  6. Please Is there a single fan on this board that acts that way?
  7. Anyone that drafted 3 or later made the wrong pick--because they passed on JJ Watt. And the Bills picked at 3. And he's been an all-pro, not just "had some nice games" So other than getting everything in your post wrong, this is solid stuff. That's a pretty fair way to put it IMO.
  8. Of all the QBs in this draft, I'm by far most torn on Trevor Knight of Texas A&M (used to be at Oklahoma) He's small, doesn't have a great arm, and has an oddly-pointed release, all of which bother me. At the same time, he's got great footwork, knows where to go with the football, and is a very good athlete. I think I might like him as a developmental guy.
  9. That's especially true for guys that were #2 receivers, though you do occasionally see guys like Marvin Jones (and, oddly, Golden Tate before him) live up to the dollar value.
  10. Absolutely; I'm taking for granted that they'll draft someone in the first 2 rounds. Hunter hasn't been a disappointment here given the role he's played. With only 200 snaps, he's accounted for 3 TDs. If I'm keeping him, it's because he's got ability as a red zone target. It's a cap contribution issue. The fact that Watkins will command top dollar starting in 2017 with his option year precludes them from spending the $8M-$10M AAV on Woods--too much money for your #2 WR (and like it or not, when Sammy is healthy, Woods is the 2nd option). To me, Hunter is a guy that can be productive in the red zone when called upon, and there's value in that. I'm in favor of drafting a Corey Davis type and re-signing Salas. A depth chart that reads Watkins-Davis-Powell-Salas-Hunter-Listenbee would be absolutely fine IMO
  11. I would focus my intentions on keeping Hunter on a prove-it deal--something like $2M for one year. I don't think it's the worst thing in the world if the team heads into the offseason with Watkins, Hunter, Powell, Listenbee, and Easley as their top 5. Add a first-round pick like Davis to the equation and you have the makings for a solid corps IMO. They could always bring back a guy like Salas too.
  12. When Marvin Jones got $8M/year and Tavon Austin got $10M/year, I figured Woods was probably in that range as well. And that means he's a goner. If this team intends to pay Sammy what he'll want in 2 years time (and I have no reason to suspect that they won't), they can't pay Woods what he'll want now.
  13. Sounds like it. I don't know....I only know that Whaley had his run at Rex, and absolutely could've dissuaded Pegs from hiring Rex if he felt strongly about it. Casey might be as good a run defender, but he's not quite Dareus as a pass rusher. Same number of sacks in 9 more games for Casey. I like Kyle, but it's no coincidence that when given the choice, teams choose to double-team Dareus and not Kyle. That tells you all you need to know. I wouldn't give the nod to Campbell over Dareus even if I felt they were comparable, though Campbell has played mostly 5T and 7T. Dareus has played from 0T to 3T for his entire career. Seriously, compare the numbers for everyone listed--Dareus comes out ahead most of the time.
  14. I have my own list of guys that I would accept as reasonable responses: Suh, Wilkerson, Atkins, Donald, Cox, and Short. McCoy is borderline IMO. Richardson hasn't been anywhere near as productive, and Williams is more one-dimensional. Malik Jackson has never crested 4 sacks in a season, and he's not a great run defender...his signing was a massive joke to me (no offense to you intended here).
  15. I'll give you this: the Brits truly know how to curse.
  16. The chart shows that it was twice. I'll bite: who are the 10 that are better?
  17. Why? We found Cordy Glenn in round 2 the very next year, and he's been just fine. I'd take JJ Watt. He's been the best defensive player in the NFL since 2012. By the way, there were 2 of us on this board that wanted JJ Watt at 3rd overall back then...myself, and SJBF http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/127671-when-the-bills-were-on-the-clock-who-did-you-want-the-last-few-years/page-2?do=findComment&comment=2136589
  18. Remove the "g" and replace it with an apostrophe and the joke would hit another level...didn't your country spawn this language?!?!?!?!
  19. I'm dealing with a groin issue too... ...every time we lose, it feels like someone kicked me there
  20. I am wondering the same, as I have eagerly awaited his return...for what it's worth, the old San Jose still has an active account
  21. Yep...it was the antithesis of the 2013 draft
  22. This again? Pegula was very clear about how the process went down... http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1/How-the-Bills-decided-on-Rex-Ryan-as-head-coach/aa1cc736-b6c4-4af7-bfe9-4aba573bf0fd “It was funny because at the start of the process Kim and Terry asked me who my favorite was and I said, ‘You can’t go in with any preconceived notions of what you want and what you like. You’ve got to go in with an open mind so you don’t have any biases,’” said Whaley. “And at that point Kim said, ‘Well then how do you know?’ I said, ‘Unfortunately it’s like when I asked people who were married and I was single. How do you know? You just know.’ And when we got to that point we all looked at each other and knew that Rex was the guy who we wanted to be our next head coach.” - Doug Whaley
