  1. That, and he's bloody good. I will never understand why folks want really good players to leave.
  2. You're right. Winning teams don't keep their good players at key positions.
  3. The Florida corners get all the hype, but I really like both of the LBs--Jarrad Davis and Alex Anzalone. Davis is probably a top-40 guy, but Anzalone is going to fall due to injury issues. I think he's a perfect fit for McDermott, and I'd probably take a chance on him in the 3rd.
  4. Don't those two ideas kind of contradict each other? I wouldn't really have a problem with Gilly getting a 2nd round tender given how important the running game is to this team, but I think that perhaps the smartest option would be to offer him a fully-guaranteed one-year deal worth $2M. It protects him from losing money due to injury if he plays on a tender contract that doesn't become guaranteed until Week 1.
  5. I'm a bit gun-shy on him. He just seems so undisciplined: jumps early too often, tends to clutch and grab against quicker guys, technique breaks down, etc. The size and athleticism are there, but I would have to get myself comfortable that he's going to be dedicated to his craft as a pro...not exactly a dominant trait for those 'bama players as of late (with apologies to Bill in NYC)
  6. I think I might look at Cam Robinson at that spot...might
  7. Hit the cap casualties market for DBs--there will be some good ones available
  8. I think Davis is a guy that has a chance to sneak into the top 40 picks if he looks like an athlete in his workouts. Just a good, solid player.
  9. That was my first thought as well--if Byrd gets cut as expected, Buffalo has to be a consideration now.
  10. So should we just keep letting good players walk out the door because we don't have a franchise QB? That seems like a very, very poor strategy.
  11. Roost - Niagara Street, Buffalo, NY
  12. If he signs for $4M per, I'll stand on my head while nude and eat a taco. Compare his tackle and penalty stats to Richard Sherman...I dare you.
  13. I can tell you that there are 32 NFL teams that most clearly would NOT
  14. And again I say that there's no way you truly believe that--and if you say that you do, I won't believe you.
  15. I just don't know what to say...as a father, I am heartbroken for you. I will pray for you and your family, and will hug my boys extra close tonight. God bless.
  16. I doubt that does it--I think he could get $7M AAV on the open market
  17. Smart move if they can get it done in the $5-$6M AAV range. Great fit for McDermott's D, and still young. It would really alleviate some of my worries about the LB position heading into 2017... Some...
  18. I'm pissed off at analysts who are down on Barnett. One look at the Stanford tape should have them questioning that assessment. I've seen UDFA grades on him; for me he's an early-mid day 3 guy all the way.
  19. It really may be...all I know is that he'd be a great fit for McDermott's defense. The name is just a bonus... ...a huge, amazing, get-fuzzy-feelings-thinking-about-Murphy-trying-to-pronounce-it bonus.
  20. I think I've found my Elandon Roberts for this year: K-State's Charmeachealle Moore https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=z161USWRfrg Fast, active, aggressive. Love his style. Also, I still see you, Dante Barnett...no matter how many analysts say that you had a bad senior season.
  21. You know CGF is a lady, right?
  22. Power lifter And yes, we have a house full of Italians and old-school Jews, so we must appease both. Just want to say that, right now, IMO, you are winning this thread. I always get at least 2 cream puffs from Schmidt's when I'm in C-bus! Usually after I've crushed a Thurmanator
  23. I'm not prepared to pay him the $10M AAV he's going to want. I mean, Damon Harrison never made a pro bowl, and he got $9M per last offseason, so Poe isn't a stretch at $10M. For a guy that doesn't give you much of a pass rush, and hasn't really helped KC's run defense, that doesn't seem palatable for me.
  24. Guys I haven't seen mentioned (didn't read the whole thread though): Mark Brunell Steve Beurlein Aaron Brooks Elvis Grbac Trent Green Kurt Warner
