  1. I'm a complete no on Robinson--he gets really sloppy, and there are times when he literally cannot stop himself from jumping early for entire series. He just seems mentally undisciplined to me.
  2. I'm guessing Zach ends up between $7M and $8M AAV, but figuring it can be slightly backloaded to lower 2017 cap hit.
  3. Bumping this now that the cap and FA tenders have been released. I went to the Spotrac roster management tool, and made the following moves: Picked up Taylor's option (has no effect on cap) Released Corey Graham and Marcus Easley Tendered Groy at the original round level Re-signed Justin Hunter and Brandon Tate to identical $1M deals for 2017 Re-signed Zach Brown and gave him a cap hit of $4M for 2017 Signed Alterraun Verner and gave him a cap hit of $5M for 2017 Signed Jairus Byrd and gave him a cap hit of $3M for 2017 Signed Dwight Freeney and gave him a cap hit of $1.5M for 2017 The above left me with $11.5M in cap space, $6M of which I assumed needed to go to draft picks. I'm also left with obvious needs at: QB (to be the next franchise hopeful and compete for backup spot) WR (starting) OT (to compete at RT) LB (to compete with Preston Brown) S (to compete for the 3rd safety spot) K P My opinion is that a portion of the $5.5M in space that isn't allocated to draft picks needs to be used to fill two of the above needs outside of the draft. I would hope for a 3rd safety and a sub-package LB. Thoughts?
  4. I don't see Tyrod ever getting comfortable with Stevie, but again, I don't think it'll matter since I doubt he's got anything left in the tank.
  5. Even if he isn't done, he's not a great fit for a passing game that features Taylor. His style of route-running and relative lack of speed doesn't mesh with Taylor's deep ball strength and relative failure to throw with anticipation.
  6. Um, yes, I do know what I'm seeing. If you were able to watch the first 90 seconds of that video and didn't see him hitting the quick throws over the middle, then I'm not sure what you were watching. Also, no, a comeback route is not a form of go-route. A "comeback" can be a 3, 4, or deep 7 route. It's fine if you have a different opinion, but let's not ignore what's there.
  7. Yeah I already corrected it above--I was thinking TTU (probably because we're talking about Mahomes).
  8. Gah--not sure why, but I was thinking of TTU instead of MIss St.
  9. Didn't they also produce Dak Prescott?
  10. No offense, but you aren't watching much of him if that's what you see. His best throw is the inside slant off of the blast PA. He routinely works the underneath middle off of very quick throws for YAC opportunities, and shows a good eye for pre-snap reads. Check out the Oklahoma game as an example: Right now I have him going 25 to Houston...if Buffalo wants him, they probably have to take him at 10 as a practical matter. On principle, if they want him, they should take him at 10 because he's a QB, and there's literally no good not to take a QB that you like in round 1.
  11. I'm a Mahomes guy, and I have been since 2015. I love the raw material and moxie, and I love the snap-to-release time when he knows he needs to speed things up. I think he's going to need a lot of work, but as I've said, the Mahomes-Stafford comparisons are real IMO. As to records on QBs, mine is really up-and-down. I was a Cousins guy, but I missed wildly with guys like Kaepernick. It happens.
  12. Yeah...well... I got nothin'
  13. Yep...that said, it never hurts to have guys that can handle their business against TEs. Being able to man up against the bigger targets gives you more ammo to rush the passer and disguise coverages against the smaller, quicker, RAC guys (as you know).
  14. He's a RFA; they need only not tender him and he's gone.
  15. Gotta figure that Corey Graham and Marcus Easley will be following soon after
  16. Josh Jones is no joke--dude is a missile
  17. If you like Mahomes (for example) enough to take him at 10, and you're convinced that he'll be there, then yes, I'd probably do it.
  18. I like Jason Mamoa quite a bit actually; curious to see how Aquaman comes out, because although he's good, superhero movies tend to be dreadful
  19. This board has missed you
  20. Almost identical to Mario Williams--just as I said
  21. I'm watching for my boy Jayon Brown's 3-cone and short-shuttle times. Instant contributor as a sub-package guy
  22. I see more of a Bruce Irvin than Mack, and I think he's a top-25 pick right now
  23. Solomon Thomas with a pretty nasty strength/length ratio too: 30 reps at 33" arms
  24. Davis is my clear winner, as front offices have no choice other than to go back and watch more tape of him. He was really productive as GSU--I will also be adding him to my file for a look-see
