  1. Why? Both actually played well last year.
  2. Adam Schefter‏Verified account @AdamSchefter 6m6 minutes ago More Former Raiders OT Menelik Watson reached agreement with the Denver Broncos, per sources. Staying in division, defecting to rival.
  3. I would be okay with that.
  4. Not that bad actually...I figure Hyde starts at SS, Poyer at FS. Anderson is on the roster as depth. What they need is another coverage safety that can play in nickel sets when Hyde drops down to slot corner.
  5. It occurs to me...perhaps Washington should wait to hire Mayock (assuming they want him) until after the draft. I mean, the guy posted his rankings on NFL.com, his Twitter feed is full of his opinions on players, and he just spent a week during the combine giving his opinion on 300 prospects.
  6. This doesn't surprise me at all. Cleveland and Oakland chased him hard years ago, but he was too comfortable in his role in TV. I sincerely doubt he'd take the job, but as I've said for years: the man understands the process as well as anyone, and has passed up GM jobs in the past.
  7. Sammy's only issue has been availability. He's nothing short of elite when he's on the field and being targeted.
  8. Sure, I get that. I think Gunner encapsulated the conundrum rather well when he said that the crux of the issue is whether or not you're willing to take a 25% reduction in ability at LT to gain a 75% increase in ability at RT. For me, with this QB and these RBs, I'm plenty willing to do that...mostly because I don't see a FA or draft pick solution that allows me to field an effective starter at RT.
  9. You are wildly missing the point here. This is about the most cost-effective solution for getting your two best tackles (and 5 best OLmen) on the field for the 2017 season. If you have a guy that can play either side (which I'm assuming at this point is Glenn) and a guy that can only play one side effectively, then it's a no-brainer. If you believe that the OL is going to be better with Kouandjio at LT and Glenn at RT then it would with Glenn at LT and, say, some street FA at RT, then you do what's best for the team. If your franchise LT is upset at having to be the highest-paid OT in the NFL even though he's playing the "non-premium" side, well, assuage his worries by assuring him that he'll be moved back to his "big money" position in 2018. I really cannot understand why this is so difficult to grasp.
  10. Why do some folks get sooooooooooo hung up on the distinction between sides? He's getting paid as a LT; he will not give one single solitary rip about moving over for one season. He's a LT, and if he ever hits the open market again, he'll be paid like a LT. That part of the case closed. If he moves, it will be expressly because he has the versatility to play either side, and the other guy does not. There's zero chance he's going to say "you know what? I'm not moving because I'm being paid $13.5M per year".
  11. Tell that to Andrew Whitworth He moved from LT to LG, and then back to LT, and still got two LT contracts since Teams don't pay based on where a guy spent one season; they pay based on where a guy can play. He's got 4 years left on his mega deal, so move him if it means getting the best 5 on the field. He's the highest paid OT in the NFL; he'll get over it for one season. If anyone thinks him moving for a year diminishes his value then they aren't paying attention. Lane Johnson, Erik Fisher, etc. Guys that have shown that they can play LT get paid like it.
  12. If you want a Taylor type, then your guy is Tiffin's Antonio Pipkin
  13. I'm fairly middle ground on Shaq; I feel like he's probably Adrian Clayborn-esque, but im hopeful that there's a Terrell Suggs hiding in there somewhere. I would absolutely be going after a situational pass rusher if LorAx leaves; I've mentioned Dwight Freeney and Elvis Dumervil as my preferred targets (and told my epic saga of Dumervil infatuation--let me be brief and say that I'll never get over the selections of McCargo, Youboty, and Ko Simpson).
  14. My guess is that he's your starter at SS and plays slot corner
  15. That's the line that folks break out when literally nothing beyond more opinion supports their position I'm not much of a Yoo-hoo guy, but I average 2-3 good tickle fights per night (I have 4 year old twins)! I knew I liked you
  16. I'm glad we can be friends! I don't get attached to players (except the truly great pass rushers; they're the apple of my eye). Not sure why "I call 'em like I see 'em" is confusing, but hey, it's all gravy. Now that he's a Pat, I hope he gets roundly roasted by Sammy thrice weekly when we face them. He went 11-5 with Matt Cassel and 3-1 with Jimmy G and Jacoby Brissett. Must've been cuz a Tawmy!
  17. Congrats on missing the boat right along with Jerry! Where you may eventually advance beyond Jer is you may discover that I'm beholden to the facts. Not emotion Not preconceived ideas Not company lines Facts. If you post an opinion that flies in the face of literally all relevant data, odds are that I will call you out on it. Be prepared to defend it with more than just an extra helping of opinion if you want to be taken seriously. Or don't. Your call.
  18. And as I've told you before, you're dead wrong. Again. I call 'Em down the middle. Go see my comments about his performances against the Jets and Pats from 2016. Or don't. I honestly don't care, but you look silly when you chalk up facts to homerism and choose instead to lend credence to nebulous, unsupported opinion. The "eye test" is what folks claim when their agenda doesn't mesh with facts. Case-in-point: I claim he's an excellent corner, some claim he's lousy. The stats, the money, and the opinion of the guy that many call the greatest coach of his generation support my stance. Abstract statements support the opposite. A little common sense should indicate which side of the fence is grounded in reality, and which is simply agenda-driven nonsense. I'm now ready for Jerry's oh-so-predictable reply: "Yeah but the Jets game!!!1!1!1!111!!!"
  19. I'm starting to like you...anyone that gets this defensive about being blatantly wrong is okay with me Gilmore stats for the 2016 season: 69 targets, 40 receptions, 627 yards, 2 TDs, 5 INTs, 67.7 passer rating against Sherman stats for the 2016 season: 85 targets, 44 receptions, 624 yards, 2 TDs, 4 INTs, 64.0 passer rating against Sources: http://billswire.usatoday.com/2017/01/11/why-bills-cb-stephon-gilmore-wasnt-as-bad-as-you-thought-in-2016/ http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000769950/article/yearend-cornerback-rankings-richard-sherman-lands-at-no-1 If you can call that terrible, then I guess Sherman is terrible too...worse than Gilmore actually. Either that, or you have no clue what you're talking about....but hey, keep calling me "mad" because it bolsters your point And please don't stop posting...I come here for entertainment and you're a real gas! As I said, I came to terms with his departure long ago. You new guys are funny: anyone that doesn't let you post whatever you want regardless of reality is apparently "mad".
  20. Chris, he was a 7th round pick...there's no way that's true. As to position, if Chris Brown lists him as a safety, then I would bet that's where the team intends for him to play.
  21. You found 3 plays from the 2016 season and a Madden highlight
  22. Adam Schefter‏Verified account @AdamSchefter 13m13 minutes ago More Dolphins giving S Reshad Jones a 5-year, $60 million ext that includes $35m gtd, per source.
  23. Schwartz & Feinsod‏ @schwartzfeinsod 18m18 minutes ago More Larry Warford @wardaddy_75 has agreed to terms with the New Orleans Saints @Saints
  24. You new bro? No, I've known that the Gilmore megadeal was coming for a very long time. I'm not the least bit upset about that. I do, however, find it astonishing when folks massively misrepresent situations with players. As I said earlier in the thread, I really need to work on caring less about accuracy with regard to takes.
