  1. Utility receiver. He's tough and is an excellent blocker and STer. Basically a combination of Hunter and Easley. Probably our WR4.
  2. Basically zero guarantees
  3. Alterraun Vernor... Just for fun, I'd probably also look into getting Mychal Kendricks from Philadelphia for a late-round pick (and find out if they're looking to move either Jordan Matthews or Nelson Agholor), and kick the tires on DeAndre Levy and Sebastian Vollmer
  4. He's probably batting greater than 50%. From my memory, he nailed: Rex hiring Roman as OC Darby pick Ragland ACL McDermott hiring All before the media had them. Things he's missed on: EJ release Kromer firing Daryl Williams as 3rd rd pick in 2015 Now don't get me wrong, it's entirely possible that some of the above were in the plans and got nixed--I know from personal experience that that does happen. Either way, Leroi is a creative poster that has developed a reputation for contributing inside info from time to time.
  5. As I said two months ago: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/191774-dennisons-zone-blocking-scheme/?do=findComment&comment=4228679
  6. As expected--business for Zach will pick up now that Hightower is off the market.
  7. In that case, you're painting very few with a very wide brush.
  8. Exactly. The 40 simply tells you that the extra gear he shows on tape is real.
  9. As soon as I saw that 40 time, I figured he was going to pass Davis and Williams. There's no do-it-all option at WR a la Sammy or Amari Cooper, so teams are going to gravitate toward a guy that can do one thing exceptionally well. I would say that being the fastest timed NFL player in the history of timing NFL players qualifies Ross as having on exceptional skill.
  10. Clearing the way for John Ross to be the 1st receiver taken...man am I going to be insufferable if that prediction comes true.
  11. Good point that I hadn't thought much about. I am utterly stuck on the idea that Ross will be gone before the 15th pick.
  12. I think people need to prepare themselves for the very real possibility that John Ross is going to be the team's pick at 10.
  13. I used Fanspeak's board and ignored guys that I felt would never be there: 10: R1P10 WR JOHN ROSS WASHINGTON 44: R2P12 CB CHIDOBE AWUZIE COLORADO 75: R3P11 S JUSTIN EVANS TEXAS A&M 156: R5P12 LB JAYON BROWN UCLA 171: R5P27 G DANNY ISIDORA MIAMI 195: R6P11 QB CHAD KELLY MISSISSIPPI
  14. The run game would definitely suffer. The eventual transition to a pocket-passer is one of the reasons that I think the team needs to get a few mid-round OLmen in the fold to groom. Obviously you don't need a great OL to have a good offense, but you can't go into the season with 2 very obvious weak links in pass protection (I'm speaking of RG and RT--I would call C and LG "passable") if you had a Romo/Ryan type back there.
  15. I think there's a bit of give/take with Taylor at QB. He's very good at avoiding pressure; at the same time, he creates a good number of bad situations for himself with shoddy movement habits in the pocket. I don't know that the bad quite matches the good; merely an observation on part.
  16. I see what you're saying...that makes more sense than how I interpreted your original statement. I agree that Whaley tends to stick to his valuation of a position/player and not deviate; that's how guys like Gilmore end up leaving. I don't, however, think it'll preclude them from drafting a QB--how high is anyone's guess.
  17. Wow...I guess I don't agree at all regarding Whaley and value. He seems to bypass value for need quite often actually. If we go back to 2013, almost all of his 1st-3rd round picks are need picks; I really only count Darby as a value guy.
  18. Actually there's zero work to be done. They simply tell the league office that they're matching and it's finished.
  19. Groy can do it in an emergency, but Reid Ferguson will probably be the new LS Also, I believe Nick O'Leary has done some long-snapping in the past, so he could also be an emergency guy in a pinch
  20. Right. And they get their likely starting C under contract for 2018 for $3.5M, which gives them plenty of time to decide if he's worthy of an extension.
  21. We have the cap room for both; keep both. Let Wood walk when his deal expires next offseason
  22. This is literally exactly what I was going to post
  23. I would call up the Eagles and offer them a pick for one of their bottom-of-the-depth-chart guys. They just signed Torrey Smith and Alshon Jeffrey, so they have to at least have some kind of plan to move on from one of Matthews/Green-Beckham/Agholor While I was on the phone, I'd also ask what they want for Mychal Kendricks.
